  1. Nil?By selling Armstrong and Raya? Oh I forgot you don't think loans and free transfers cost any money because Gallagher, Brererton and Armstrong weren't the only players signed in Mowbrays tenure. I just think it is a total nonsense to say JDT took over a team that had just finished 8th. He didn't ...no matter what way you try to paint it 5 from that team that finished 8th had left the club. And I don't know why JDT being able to replace them makes a difference? It still doesn't make it the team that finished 8th
  2. How? Mowbray had 5 years in the job.He also had the time in the first season to keep us up and he didn't .Don't blame him for the relegation but I am much more confident with JDT than I ever was with Mowbray 8th his highest finish,JDT surpassed that in his first season. Yeah Mowbray did come in with the squad in worse shape but he had time and the luxury of spending £13 million on 3 strikers in Armstrong, Gallagher and Brererton. And like iv said 5 players were gone from the first I don't care wether they were loans or not .It's still nearly half a team
  3. It was not 3 players. Both first choice centre backs gone in Van Hecke and Lenihen. First choice Rb gone and Rothwell our best midfielder. Plus Khadra . That's 5 from our strongest 11 that season.
  4. JDT walked into a club who had lost both their first choice centre halves including the club captain.First choice Right back gone.Best midfielder gone and Khadra had also departed. That is nearly half a team.
  5. JDT didn't either or did you miss the 5 players that had departed who were regulars in the first 11 And JDT got just as many points as Mowbray did like you said earlier
  6. Jesus you must have been foaming at the mouth when Mowbray was guiding us to 11th and 15th position In the table . For a first season as manager of a team who had lost half their starting 11 it was a bloody good start anyway .
  7. Of course and a striker would help with that ...which JDT has been demanding
  8. After Mowbray had spent 5 years building a squad and implementing his style of play. JDT was In his first year and of course it will take players time to adapt. Like I said totally disagree with you the ball was being released much quicker from the back after Rotherham, not sure on this message board but I know a fair few people who agree with that.
  9. JBiz.... Look at the season as a whole ,JDT in his first season of English football led us to our highest finish in the championship since relegation from the top flight. He did this after losing 5/6 players from our strongest 11 from the previous season with Lenihen, Nyambe, Rothwell, Van hecke and Khadra all gone . He did it without Diaz scoring 20 league goals before Christmas. I don't believe I'm the only person who saw a change after Rotherham away and there was much less passing around at the back(we still did it ,we still made mistakes from it but the playing around at the back did not happen as much as it did pre Rotherham) JDT has done an excellent job so far
  10. Leicester.... Sheffield United both cup and league... disagree on Coventry we controlled the game , QPR away,Millwall away second half, even in the first half we were not passing it around at the back and there were others After Rotherham away there wasn't as much passing around at the back.If you couldn't see that fair enough but your seat must not have been facing the pitch
  11. After the hammering by Rotherham there was a change Leicester in the cup,Sheffield United at home two excellent performances. Even in the games we didnt get the result required, Sheffield United(cup) Coventry, Huddersfield away ,Burnley at home we played some very good stuff . You must have been watching a different team to me as agreed up until January it was slow and boring football but after that we started to play some excellent football, without getting the results our performances warranted.
  12. Wages ain't the issue tho.We ain't going to be paying a striker 20-25k a week. If they are bringing Batth in they will be doing it with the budget in mind that a forward or 2 need to be added
  13. Because we can't afford anyone up front yet. If Batth happens it will be for free or a nominal fee.Doesnt look to be many decent attackers available for free or nominal fees unless you seen some? We will sign more forward players but unless we sell someone it will be the loan market and typically they don't happen until later in the window
  14. He also advised our head of recruitment to accept league one Sunderland's job offer
  15. And the £7.5 million of shares the did earlier this month so to keep us on track with ffp they have had to inject 29.1 million into the club?
  16. Shame for the lad looked like he could step up before his injury problems
  17. Absolute no chance Potter will go there anyway
  18. Rankin Costello performed well at right back and Brittan is a right back. What left back did we have playing at right back?
  19. Darren Moore has left Sheffield Wednesday
  20. I laughed and thought he was good but imo the 13 year old girl from Liverpool or the 14 year old Irish lad doing the magic should have won
  21. Some story with Mpanzu .It's a great achievement by them and a deserved promotion with how the season went for them
  22. In one of the previous matches the commentary said they need to spend 10 million on it to meet the requirements for it to be used in the premier league
  23. What's the bets Broughton and JDT will return from the India trip with an improved contract for Tomasson? As much as I want JDT to continue what he has started I do hope his trip to India doesn't make him unsackable like some of our previous managers
  24. Are we clearly doing that though. He said if we want to pay a transfer fee it would have to come from selling a player.Maybe it will be loans and free transfers only ,like a number of other teams in the championship.Or lower cost permanent deals by shifting some of our deadwood. I don't see us selling Wharton unless someone does take a risk and pays big money, and I mean more than £10 million
