I would have liked to see Markanday getting more of an opportunity agreed but for some reason JDT decided to give Hirst and Vale plenty of time but Markanday only minutes v Rotherham.He would be better going out on loan playing every week and hopefully showing enough to be considered next season I disagree it's scraping the barrel last season himself and O'Brien were two of their main men and he played a big role getting them to the play off final. Also like others have mentioned his set piece delivery is a step up to what we have at the club and with the likes of Ayala, Wharton, Hyam , Gallagher we should be scoring more from set pieces.Surely we will all be happy not to see Morton standing over the ball at corners and free kicks We only have a week to find out what other signings we will make and if a competent number 9 is brought in then his signing will make even more sense.Delivery and crossing ain't a strength of Dolan or Markanday

Now Thomas is more or less sorted id prefer someone else to Gerhaldt, he is a talent but unsure if he is suited to leading the line as centre forward.Probably better suited playing off a front man currently

Gerhaldt and Undav will fuck off back back again . At the end of the day I want to see us in the playoffs for the first time since we got relegated forgetting about long term Markanday doesn't look to be fancied maybe this deal will allow him to go on loan and platv...Dolan usually plays as a false nine when included and even when he plays wide he carries the ball too much and doesn't really have a good delivery. Thomas does have a good delivery and had an outstanding season last season and even 6 assists this year when he has been out of favour and Huddersfield struggling is still a decent enough return.

Whats the difference between signing him or Gerhaldt on loan?Thomas is proven in this division.If he can contribute a few assists and help us finish in the top 6 then the signing will have been worthwhile It certainly isn't utterly pointless

I would prefer an option or to sign him permanently but we are struggling to create chances and he was third in assists in the league last season it's still a good signing in the short term. We should really be ensuring we finish in the top 6 and I feel we would have a better chance with Thomas playing ,he is better than the other options we have

Out of favour at Huddersfield and in all fairness transfermarkt valuations don't matter a jot... nobody would be paying £5 million for him

Still has 6 assists this season which isn't a bad return for someone off form. I'd be happy if this deal happens
