  1. Meanwhile, at Portman Road, Hirst scores another !
  2. Almost certainly the latter. He played fantastically well on his debut and a couple more good games and is clearly talented. JDT is best placed to make the call on whether he is really ready and can be trusted but he will almost certainly be needed this season.
  3. He was in the match day squad at B’ham but didn’t make the 18.
  4. Maybe, but we all know the games like today are the ones that we invariably struggle with.
  5. Play offs would be a real achievement. I think we as fans have a real role to play in getting us there, we need to turn up and really get behind them at Ewood in the remaining fixtures and pray we do it.
  6. Sounds like you’re willing it to happen. Despite todays result, we still have a great chance and so best to remain positive, hopefully the players don’t share your thoughts 😡
  7. Really disappointing result but sadly, one I was expecting. The real issue is that we just can’t come back from going behind and there is just so little goal threat from Gallagher / Dolan. O’Brien for Morton and a decent CF in the January window and we would have won that game. What I like about Khadra is that he isn’t afraid to have a shot from anywhere, something that we just never seem brave enough to do ☹️
  8. Just watched 20 minute highlights reel from Sheffield United. Final thoughts as below: Played well to a man, fully committed and deserved better. Without a doubt Robinson should have had a second yellow, even the Sheffield TV made the comment that he was going for card and then changed his mind. Hedges really unlucky. Diaz should have scored and any player with true striker’s instinct would have been there when Gallagher arrived late and missed it by inches. Fantastic assist from Gallagher for the goal, perfectly weighted. Awful, awful defending by Brittain initially and then 3 more, McBurney should never have been allowed that chance. I think Morton did get a finger in the eye but he should have got the ball out a foot from line or taken the man. Great game, great following. Unlucky, deserved more. Fucking hate Sheffield United. Play like that and we will make play offs
  9. Like Sorba Thomas, I think that Ndiaye was playing non league until recent years. They are still out there and don’t all have to be Paul McKinnon.
  10. Come on, every fan base has some knobs, including our regular travelling core. Just be happy that we turned out in number to support our club rather than bemoaning a few more idiots. Next, you’ll be moaning if we managed to get more on Ewood and changed the morgue like atmosphere that has prevailed for years.
  11. Just heading back, absolutely gutted. We played well but that isn’t good enough, we should have won and we didn’t. No one can question Gallagher’s effort but he just isn’t a goal scorer and also, he doesn’t seem to be a lucky player. The same happened at Leicester, Britain’s introduction cost us and once that equaliser went in, I don’t think we were ever going to have enough in the tank to win in extra time, alas we didn’t even get that chance. The referee was bloody awful, gave us nothing. I just hope that the disappointment will spur the lads on to make the play offs.
  12. Pearson is a really good player. Would have been a good shout but of course, we ‘signed’ O’Brien 🙈
  13. This leaves us very short and just re-emphasises the potential cost to the club of the colossal O’Brien fuck up. Now the appeal saga is over and the arbitrator’s funding provided further embarrassment, when is Greg B going to front up with his promised disclosure of events 🤷‍♂️
  14. I desperately hope that I am wrong but I just can’t see us making the play offs. Having only one point all season from going behind and a zero goal difference at this stage of the season just doesn’t shout resilience and grit, which will be needed to make top six.
  15. Well Coventry got an equaliser but other than that it stayed as was, really disappointing that neither Reading or Sheffield could get an equaliser. Going to be a real struggle if we don’t win on Wenesday, absolutely massive match. Reading are strong at home until we want a favour, Sheffield mid-week and Millwall today and awful away, Boro last weekend. If they could pick a team to play to reverse the away form, who would that be 🙈🙈
  16. Yep, turned around horribly but still time for it to improve, can’t really get any worse
  17. What a performance yesterday, every player came out with credit and difficult to pick a MoM as they were all outstanding. If we could replicate these last two performances for the remainder of the season, we will give ourselves a fantastic chance. Going to Ewood over the last few years has been hard work, not only the football under dull Tony and the many disappointments but the morgue like atmosphere that generally pervades the stadium. Yesterday, I got the feeling that the situation was reversible and once more, Ewood could become a bouncing and buoyant stadium with the downtrodden fan base finding their voices to support a team giving everything for that famous blue and white shirt.
  18. I don’t see any grounds for a claim from O’Brien as there is no financial loss, he is employed by Nottingham Forest and getting paid handsomely. In addition, Rovers made Forest aware of the issue in order that he might be included in their squad and they elected not to do so. An absolute first class show of incompetence at our end and we might pick up EFL legal costs but it ends there.
  19. With you and Jim Mk2 set to travel, Wembley here we come 😊
  20. Or Kaminski, who certainly should have saved it. In any event, plain daft having matches on transfer deadline day.
  21. Yep, that was really tongue in cheek. I won’t lose any sleep over it, if we get promoted
  22. I would be amazed if that was the case. I think the Sylvester and the other incompetents were at Ewood and O’Brien at Brockhall.
  23. Having read the above, we never had a chance at appeal and this timeline and detail is a damning indictment of the club’s leadership and administration set up. Why on earth was Swag at Birmingham City ? Even more bizarrely, why was the secretarial team at Ewood and the player at Brockhall, you really couldn’t make it up 😡 I’m not prepared to allow this to derail my current positivity about JDT’s playing squad but Swag and Sylvester and possibly, Broughton really should bow their head in shame. Let’s win promotion in spite of this and welcome O’Brien in the summer 😊
  24. Really disappointing and the timing is dreadful given the good feeling around the club from recent results and performances. Let’s hope that Greg B does now at least offer full disclosure about what did actually happen and how we got it so badly wrong.
