  1. True to some extent but if they hadnโ€™t pulled the plug on deadline day transfers and then slashed the budget, we would have made it, even with Broughton in role.
  2. When we signed him, my Newport County supporting pal gave me a call and said we had got a real player. He had seen him play a couple of times against County and said he stood out as really good CH. He hasnโ€™t been given a chance yet at Ewood but neither Carter or Wharton seem resilient or consistent performers at Championship level.
  3. Had anything at all been said as to when Baradji is likely to be on the pitch ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ
  4. And conceded 3 goals at home, in 90 + injury time.
  5. The only two things to cheer me up today, the Dingles and Derby both conceding converted penalties at the death.
  6. Yep, after his corner started the counter attack, he legged it back to get alongside Gray and then made no effort at all to stop the cross.
  7. Not sure if you can call it a tackle but he definitely stuck out an inviting leg for the big club penalty !
  8. I think our home form could be a real problem this year. It hurts to me say it but our crowd is so demoralised and brow beaten by the last 15 years that rather being the 12th man, we seem to be making us play a man short. It used to be a tough place for clubs to come full of passion and quite intimidating, now it must be the quietest home support in the land. It is embarrassing and a result of the last 15 years and breaks my heart.
  9. A lot of changes on the team sheet but some things donโ€™t change, that is 3 goals shipped in 90+ minutes in two games.
  10. Desperately short of a striker and have been for a long while now. Gueye looks like he has won a prize to pull the shirt on and although I love Yukiโ€™s hard graft, he wonโ€™t score a lot of goals, too slow and not strong enough to be up front alone.
  11. Copyright to Claytonโ€™s Left Boot. The best player in the world and no 10, Pele
  12. Great post, sad to see some of the academy grads going but your points are bang on.
  13. This seems to be the consensus about Leonard but I really donโ€™t understand it. Yes, he has been injury prone but always highly thought of and talked up as a real goal scorer, why would they be looking to force such an academy product out, before his potential and future value is really known ? Buckley is no surprise, on good money and just doesnโ€™t look interested when he gets on the pitch and is pale imitation of the player that he was expected to be.
  14. My guess is that there were probably cost and relationship issues with Liverpool that saw Morton getting more minutes than he warranted.
  15. 6ft 6, I like the sound of that and fits the Ismael mold.
  16. Barnsley fans disagree and we will see. He will need to be a bloody good manager to achieve relative success at a club where the ownership seems hell bent on destruction rather than build and decline over aspiration and ambition.
  17. And gave Adam W a platform and opportunity to shine. Think he was a great manager, simply didnโ€™t suffer fools and I truly believe he would have had us promoted, if he had been backed by the stooges / owners.
  18. Sums it up very nicely. In my opinion, both really good managers in different ways, I also happen to think that Ismael is also a good manager and that the stooges and owners may have got lucky a third time.
  19. Seriously ๐Ÿ˜ง If true, Bucko must be doing cartwheels as no doubt the money will be life changing.
  20. Anyone know whether there has been an update on Alibousi ? Be a real shame if he is out for an extended period, first impressions is that he looks like a decent signing.
  21. Agree, think it is absolute bollocks re: compensation but will bow to Kent Exileโ€™s knowledge with regard to solidarity payments.
  22. Yesterday, we saw a gritty performance that deserved at least a point but once again, we threw it away at the death. That will be a real hammer blow to whatever team morale we still have. Lack of goals are obviously a real problem and still needs addressing in the transfer market. I like Yuki, he grafts and is a decent penalty box finisher but he needs service, he simply is far too slow and not strong enough to play a lone role. Big Mak doesnโ€™t look like scoring goals and I think we would get more joy pushing Kargbo central, his pace and low centre of gravity will give CHโ€™s a real issue and should at least create more chances and hopefully goals.
