  1. The only two things to cheer me up today, the Dingles and Derby both conceding converted penalties at the death.
  2. Yep, after his corner started the counter attack, he legged it back to get alongside Gray and then made no effort at all to stop the cross.
  3. Not sure if you can call it a tackle but he definitely stuck out an inviting leg for the big club penalty !
  4. I think our home form could be a real problem this year. It hurts to me say it but our crowd is so demoralised and brow beaten by the last 15 years that rather being the 12th man, we seem to be making us play a man short. It used to be a tough place for clubs to come full of passion and quite intimidating, now it must be the quietest home support in the land. It is embarrassing and a result of the last 15 years and breaks my heart.
  5. A lot of changes on the team sheet but some things don’t change, that is 3 goals shipped in 90+ minutes in two games.
  6. Desperately short of a striker and have been for a long while now. Gueye looks like he has won a prize to pull the shirt on and although I love Yuki’s hard graft, he won’t score a lot of goals, too slow and not strong enough to be up front alone.
  7. Copyright to Clayton’s Left Boot. The best player in the world and no 10, Pele
  8. Great post, sad to see some of the academy grads going but your points are bang on.
  9. This seems to be the consensus about Leonard but I really don’t understand it. Yes, he has been injury prone but always highly thought of and talked up as a real goal scorer, why would they be looking to force such an academy product out, before his potential and future value is really known ? Buckley is no surprise, on good money and just doesn’t look interested when he gets on the pitch and is pale imitation of the player that he was expected to be.
  10. My guess is that there were probably cost and relationship issues with Liverpool that saw Morton getting more minutes than he warranted.
  11. 6ft 6, I like the sound of that and fits the Ismael mold.
  12. Barnsley fans disagree and we will see. He will need to be a bloody good manager to achieve relative success at a club where the ownership seems hell bent on destruction rather than build and decline over aspiration and ambition.
  13. And gave Adam W a platform and opportunity to shine. Think he was a great manager, simply didn’t suffer fools and I truly believe he would have had us promoted, if he had been backed by the stooges / owners.
  14. Sums it up very nicely. In my opinion, both really good managers in different ways, I also happen to think that Ismael is also a good manager and that the stooges and owners may have got lucky a third time.
  15. Seriously 😧 If true, Bucko must be doing cartwheels as no doubt the money will be life changing.
  16. Anyone know whether there has been an update on Alibousi ? Be a real shame if he is out for an extended period, first impressions is that he looks like a decent signing.
  17. Agree, think it is absolute bollocks re: compensation but will bow to Kent Exile’s knowledge with regard to solidarity payments.
  18. Yesterday, we saw a gritty performance that deserved at least a point but once again, we threw it away at the death. That will be a real hammer blow to whatever team morale we still have. Lack of goals are obviously a real problem and still needs addressing in the transfer market. I like Yuki, he grafts and is a decent penalty box finisher but he needs service, he simply is far too slow and not strong enough to play a lone role. Big Mak doesn’t look like scoring goals and I think we would get more joy pushing Kargbo central, his pace and low centre of gravity will give CH’s a real issue and should at least create more chances and hopefully goals.
  19. Just venting to my Ipswich Town pal today and he says I reckon you should all just boycott for say, 4 matches to get your idiot owners to listen ! I said, I couldn’t agree more but we are down to the hard core and there are just too many who won’t entertain it, despite the wanton destruction of their club.
  20. I also think that with the pausity of what we can field up front, he might also be better suited going down the middle with more space and pace more of a threat.
  21. I am going to struggle to add anything more to what has been posted already, last night was simply woeful ! The only positives for me were that Tavares looked like a decent player, Wharton and Miller were combative and Cantwell was clearly a class above anyone else when he finally took to the pitch. Having also been at the Hawthorns on Saturday, the real concern is where will the goals come from, there is just no creativity or goal threat. Gueye and Kargbo look beyond poor and I like Yuki but he will be very lucky to match last year’s goals number, too slow and totally unable to play a lone striker role. The other major concern is the team morale, with Travis wanting out and Tronstad playing like he also wants out, I imagine the team spirit is literally pouring away. Final concern is that Arbitro seems to have given up on posting his post match reports and analysis, which I always look forward to reading. Might have missed it but didn’t see anything from him for the Baggies match and nothing as yet for last night’s fiasco. If Tony has given up, we really are going to hell in a handcart, and very quickly.
  22. Average on the vast majority of appearances, sometimes downright poor.
  23. Sums up the incompetence at the football club. Similar to what cost them a lot of money on Ash Phillips, as I understand it, a few more games and contract extension or higher exit clause.
