v Norwich City (h) - 1/3/2025

That is pretty much how I saw the match unfold, the clear difference was that Norwich players generally found a yellow shirt with their passing and appeared much quicker breaking and both in and out of possession. -

He’s not a natural but at least on two occasions, he ran all the way back to become the last man and clear, albeit one ended up as an unnecessary corner. -

He is a very frustrating player, has the occasional good game but most of the time he is just woeful. He might still be relatively young but he must have 100 / 150 appearances and continues to make the same mistakes and appears to have very little football intelligence and I don’t see any improvement in his play or offensive output. -

We got a point when all looked lost but last week at Swansea and today, were two of the worse performances of the season. I hope I am wrong but if we don’t improve significantly from the last two, then I expect to get beaten at both Derby and Stoke. -

His legs have gone and he does get caught in possession but he knows where to be and is a goal threat. Like everyone at Swansea, he was poor but had two good first half chances and today, he had 3 chances in 25 minutes and don’t think we had a chance outside these. -

Good post, I was pointing out exactly the same, at no stage was Duffy pressurised when in possession and we know that he can’t handle that. Gueye needs support closer to him, without Ohashi, I think Kargbo needed to be more central and closer to big Mak. -

Noel and Windy, what a joy. Scotty and Howard G, great times. -

There was precious little team spirit on show at Swansea, dreadful capitulation. -

Apart from an end date, we have no idea of what the contract provides for. It wouldn’t surprise me if a break or release clause has been included to give both club and employee an option in the summer, once the outcome of the next 12 (hopefully 15) matches is known. -

As I posted on the earlier thread, not excited by the appointment but not disappointed either, he did a really good job at Barnsley. Let’s hope he gets a fantastic 15 game response and takes us up and in doing so, delivers the perfect opportunity for Venkys to finally exit our club. -

Have we got Patrick Valery
-
I wouldn’t be against that one.
-
Mowbray did a reasonable job, a decent fist of staying up and then a a promotion. He became too comfortable and badly got it wrong with his slow build / journey diatribe that was more focussed on keeping an easy life than getting the Rovers promoted.
-
Or Journey !
-
I’m not excited by Ismael but not totally against it but only on 12 match basis with option to renew / release / renegotiate at the end of the season. A long term appointment without a get out clause would be gross stupidity, given the circumstances our club currently faces.
-
I think most of us with long history know, a long streak without a win and then Rovers come to town ! Add in Eustace and that Ryan Nyambe has never scored a goal and join the dots………..

Hopefully BB starts paying a bit more attention to Pears !

It is shit or bust for our football club. There is absolutely no point considering any coach / managerial appointment beyond the end of the season. We need to offer remuneration at £1m per annum, pro rata and a £1m promotion bonus. This provides attractive opportunity and financial incentive and then everything else is up for renegotiation in the summer. This way everything is focussed on the short term and both club and coach have options thereafter. There is no other sensible option, how will ST’s sell if we appoint a HC / Manager now who goes on to lose the majority of our remaining games ? Player trading and renewals will be dependent on the outcome of this season, the future of the club is dependent on the outcome of this season ! There can be no long term decisions made at this juncture, 12 games, shit or bust !

Whilst I know that behind the scenes we are an absolute shit-show, I don’t believe for one minute that they travelled down on the day. -

I thought he was poor as well but better than almost all his teammates, everyone bar none, was dogshit. For me, Ribeiro and Forshaw were our ‘better’ performers, it was that bad ! -
I think he would probably be keen and would like the job for a number of reasons but moving back to the U.K. before end of current tax year will probably cost him millions from his tax free Saudi earnings / severance. For that reason alone, I think it is a total non runner.

Also reported that Pasha / Swag heading to London for second stage interviews after initial round conducted on Zoom. Why, they are candidates for the role of Head Coach / Manager, Blackburn Rovers so why on earth are they not making the journey up to Ewood / Brockhall !
-
Be nice to have Duffer back in Hurst Green and he would be working with his Academy and first team contemporary, Damian Johnson.
-
And not the chap to galvanise this squad for a 13 match promotion push. It will take him a month to know the players names and for them to know him !
