  1. And the only game on TV. The confirmation will be how many pay three times that for the Birmingham game that is the only game not on TV! (You’d be mighty pissed off if you were a Big Club fan).
  2. 100%. It’s so sad that most Lancashire folk don’t know this, and even sadder when those who do deny it. I get why Mancs and Scousers do because it means political power but not us. Go and tell any Boltoner that they are from Greater Manchester - they know what’s up! And don’t even get me started on Ye Olde Blackburnshire (aka Blackburn Hundred)! Some of our local cousins really are “just a small town in Blackburn”
  3. Rothwell had a couple of quite games prior to last night but I wouldn’t have called him poor last night. Not unless there were 8 or 9 abysmal players with him. So bad we’re we that Walton was easily a contender for MoM. Travis being awarded it was a bit ‘meh’.
  4. Don’t get me started on their manager. A team built in his image.
  5. Wigan is still in Lancashire*. As are Liverpool and Manchester. Unless you also believe that Backburn isn’t in Lancashire either. *doesn’t make their fans any less scrote-like (oh the shit I was given for calling Wigan fans scrotes )
  6. “Apparently”, “suspected”, “if true”. Yeah, I’d say Kamy has gone for speculation.
  7. Somehow I don’t think that would be an issue. I really hope we can hang on to him for the rest of the season.
  8. That’s not actually the plus side. But it’s not too bad a minus. Here’s hoping for a better result on Thursday.
  9. It did cross our minds that we might have had a transfer fee to come in for him. He’s going nowhere now. Personally I would not be looking to go in for a Dack replacement. I think we have enough. As @chaddyrovers said earlier we need a new gk, lb and cb.
  10. That was actually really interesting. Cheers for sharing. What I would say though is that given the level of detail they appear to go into for individual performances, some of the same players keep being selected game after game. Apart from that it seems that the club are trying to use the available technology to get players ready for games. We have a great asset in Brockhall and we need to get the right players in there if we are to benefit.
  11. Bringing on Gallagher for Armstrong was the wrong move. Arma was right to come off but it should have been Bennett who replaced him. Gallagher plays as a centre forward or not at all imho.
  12. Let’s start with the positive - we remain unbeaten even if we are wobbling badly. But that was an utter shambles. It was like watching a bunch of strangers who had never seen a football before! First touch was too frequently so bad that the second touch was an attempted tackle - often so far away it was a desperate lunge. We missed Adarabioyo so much. Not just his ability at the back but his calmness on the ball and his ability to pick out a pass. To be so reliant on such a young lad, a loanee, is poor. (Has there been any news on his injury?). Instead we were treated to a succession of hoofed long balls from Williams, Walton, even Downing and Lenihan. We just ended up reverting back to the dark old days of last season with the ball coming back again and again. Elsewhere, we had a real problem stringing a few passes together, let alone any kind of final ball. Gutted for Dack. We have Rothwell and Holtby and even Armstrong who can cover (although Arma was appalling again tonight - if it weren’t for his odd goal/assist he would be been dropped a long time ago). But we do seem to be missing something. We’ve gone from a settled side (a team) to a collection of individuals. Another exercise in bottling it when it touching distance of the play-offs against a piss-poor side in front of a good crowd. Any walk-ons tonight won’t be racing back for half-season tickets! Or paying three times the price to come back on Thursday. Wigan were disgusting - the very image of their disgrace of a manager - dirty and cynical. The ref played right in their hands but it’s a poor do if anyone tries to blame the ref for that tonight. We could have nicked a goal but so could they. We simply froze. January is vital now. Oh, but Mowbray now has a 10ft flag so all is well.
  13. Yet another late/mystery injury. Adarabioyo has been a fixture of our recent success. At least Bell and Bennett aren’t starting. C’mon Rovers!
  14. They could go ahead with the Riverside/hotel idea and take the hit on seats there but wherever they did it, it would be controversial.
  15. OTT reply. You are overthinking it. Dack has a long history of being well up for televised games. We need to enjoy him while we can because he’ll definitely be catching they eye of other clubs.
  16. They laugh because Ewood is empty but they ignore that other stadiums we visit are empty. And you are defending them on this. You don’t need new mates, you have the ones you deserve. There are a lot worse things to be worried about than the fact we put away fans in the upper tier - and took the decision to relocate home fans from that stand.
  17. So they never comment on the emptiness of away grounds only Ewood? You need new mates!
  18. Me too. But I care about where we are going not what fans of other clubs think of us. They didn’t care when we were being torn apart so why concern ourselves with what they think now. Irrelevant. But you are answering a different question. It hurts that we have lost so many home fans not that we should fill the away stand from the bottom up for TV viewing pleasure.
  19. Astonishing attitude. This is our team, winning games and scoring great goals but fans are ashamed to show fans of other clubs (likely PL) because of empty seats? Really? Plus many of our recent team goals have been away from home. There are swathes of empty away end seats there. Bristol even covered up 100s of seats! I have to assume you don’t show those either.
  20. Not sure it affects how big or small we look. Watch any Championship game on TV they nearly all look similar. A club/town our size will never fool any footballer (or certainly not their agent) that we are as big as Leeds because they see loads of Wiganers in the stands. In any case, if we want people to think we are a big club then we need huge crowds of home fans, not away ones. We could and should be doing much more on that front. Seating a couple of thousand away fans behind the goal and limiting the pan range of the cameras is fooling nobody. You raise a good point but aspiring potential non-Blackburn-based employees only care about one thing: ££££.
  21. I genuinely don’t care about the aesthetics of it... right now at least. Promotion is the only aim for this club for as long as it has the debts it has. If you disagree that points/results are more likely without away fans baying for penalties or red cards or whatever decision then that’s a different debate. The aesthetics aren’t relevant.
  22. I’ve missed this Chadster. What a shame he can’t spend their money on proven quality players. Agree with your list of needs though. Just hope we don’t find ourselves having to replace Graham.
  23. You keep saying this but you only have to look at grounds all around the country. Apart from the top PL sides, there are loads of empty ends on TV. Having 2,000 away fans in the lower tier simply puts pressure on the officials that just doesn’t happen from the upper. I’d go for whatever gives us an advantage on the pitch than what looks good to the armchair supporters. On another note, as the only game on TV tonight, we can able to expect a belter of a game from a rested Bradley Dack. He’d be a good bet for first goal such is the additional 10%-20% you get from him when the cameras are rolling.
  24. You’ve changed your tune, a predictable complete 180 - always knew you would. Thanks for proving me right. Again. We've actually had some great line ups, until the last couple of games. We could and should have conceded 3 in the first half last time out. Our squad depth laid bare and Mowbray is back to the expectation dampening. Bell now apparently credible competition for Downing who has probably warned Mowbray that being a full back is only ever temporary. We are either going in the right direction or we are going backwards - there is no standing still. January is vital. Anywho. Here’s hoping for a 2-0 win tonight and a good showing. Keep us in the pack and twist Venkys arm. It’s them that will need to “Trust Mowbray” not me. But given how much he wastes money I’d be surprised if they did.
