  1. Looking forward to the game but dreading seeing the line up for this one. Come on Tony, let’s make it a great pre-Christmas match at Ewood!
  2. Wow, two question marks! You must be really serious.
  3. The concern is that he is now trying to make out like Downing is a weakness in the team [at left back] which other team will “target” when the truth is anything but. Now Bell is being talked up as a viable alternative when he has being talked about, almost universally, as a weak link who lost his place to Cunningham, then Bennett (!) and now Downing. This even suggests that we have depth in this position - another timely excuses not to address it in January. It’s going to be deja vu January all over again.
  4. https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/18114480.downing-can-weapon-not-vulnerable-left-back/ Yet another off the mark observation from Tony, and seemingly trying to justify his changing of a winning formula. Let’s hope we have enough momentum in this team now because it looks like chopping and changing the team is set to resume.
  5. All good points. Completely agree.
  6. This kind of thing just says to me that he stumbles on things rather than plans for success. Our squad depth is awful. We absolutely need a central defender. Lenihan, for all his strengths, is a huge risk due to fitness issues.
  7. This is why I despair at Venkys and Bowyer and more recently Waggott and Mowbray. Yes, it takes money but it also takes ambition. Jack talked up our club, then put his money where his mouth was and put the town on the map. Think big!
  8. 2 games left Phil, with promotion secured. Imagine players challenging in the Champions League final after a long season and the manager telling them they aren’t playing. Tired doesn’t cut it at that point. The manager didn’t care about winning the title, it’s that simple. That same way Chaddy doesn’t care about it now. Let’s not pretend otherwise and insult people’s intelligence.
  9. This is simply untrue. The Charlton game was where Mowbray decided not to go for first place and instead to meddle. He dropped Graham, Dack, Bennett, Williams, Conway and Raya, and brought in Samuel, Payne, Bell, Caddis(!), Downing and Leutwiler (!!). Our luck didn’t run out, Mowbray brought in too many inferior players and rested (?) his best ones at a time when they only had two games of the season left and should have been well up for it. Such a big build up was made about that game as well, screens at Ewood and the concourse happy to take coin from the fans, and he did that. Football is about moments. Yes, we were promoted but once that was done instead of “trying to win the League One title” Mowbray decided he had done enough. He should have personally reimbursed the match ticket of every fan that travelled.
  10. Fair dos. I understood that his IP hadn’t and wouldn’t be blocked. The site isn’t about individuals though. Obviously if one poster stopped contributing then nothing would change but if the forum didn’t exist then it would become a niche news outlet not unlike 4,000 holes. Cheers for taking the time to answer my questions though. Appreciated.
  11. Without contributors (members), there would be nothing to view. Bit of a brush off to say “nothing to do with us” but expecting people to carry on posting content. A polite request to Wilkinson from the site was all I was asking, not enforcing individuals’ copyright.
  12. What stops people signing up to read? People don’t post to provide comment to the great unknown of the internet, let alone pocket billiards champions from Penwortham. From your response, it sounds like we posters have become a product for the good of internet clicks and advertising/partnerships for the site rather than a community and debating forum. There is no debate when someone is screen shotting across the internet. Presumably in breach of copyright. How about BRFCS protecting the site contributors by reminding Mr “Wilkz” that his reproduction of posts is “not welcome”.
  13. Seriously guys. Shutting down the site for a month to members only would be at least a poke in the eye for this absolute numpty. He doesn’t credit the site so there is no exposure.
  14. Exactly my point but it’s noted, once again, that it’s only me that you say that to...
  15. That as well. Isn’t it funny though, when we win there are people who enjoy baiting “the doubters” more than the results. Yet they don’t acknowledge that we are winning because of the changes made on the field. I wouldn’t like to see yesterday’s side as the consistent starting XI. I’d still say it was our worst this season. But for Lady Luck, which you get when you are in form, we could have been 3-1 down in the first half. But it doesn’t matter because Mowbray got it right yesterday and my fears were allayed. So you and the lickers, sorry likers, enjoy yourselves. It’s certainly easier to take when we are winning football matches. I genuinely hope you are still crowing and baiting come May because then it will mean something.
  16. We turned the corner when Lenihan was made captain and Bennett was dropped, and subsequently kept away from the right back role.
  17. Shame about PNE winning but that’s a cracking result for Rovers today. And, fair play, it’s ALL on Mowbray. ??
  18. Without doubt, the worst side we have fielded this season. Players out of position, players not good enough. Our left hand side is the stuff of nightmares. Right hand side isn’t much better. Surely must be some kind of message to Venkys for January. It’s like not winning/performing on Wednesday means that the “fans choice” team wasn’t up to it and he knows best. Just when we dared to think that he had learned from previous mistakes. I’m not buying tiredness either, not for 6 players. Dack being suspended and it being a “top 6 side” has given him an excuse to mess with things instead of sticking with what works and using one, maybe two, changes in personnel in a system that worked. If we lose today it’s ALL on Mowbray. Here’s hoping we nick it 1-0 but I can’t see it. February may well come early this season.
  19. That was not, by any stretch Of the imagination, a very good match. Two poor teams, Rovers second best and could barely string two passes together. Once again, our lack of squad depth was laid bare. The players looked knackered and we will have to rest one or two. Assuming Dack’s one match ban is immediate we won’t be able to field an unchanged XI again but a couple of changes are required. Personally I’d put Rothwell into Dack’s role and Holtby in on the left. Putting Bennett on so as to push Downing further forward is a really poor move but seems to be Mowbray’s new pre-planned substitution. It’s looking like we are about to have a wobble. Let’s hope we can stay in the pack and some other teams can do us a favour. What exactly is #Top10Season anything to #rejoice though? Play-offs are the target. Despite this recent purple patch, if we miss out then it will be down to the poor runs that we seem to get sucked into.
  20. Poor tonight but a good result in the circumstances. Before the game I’d have taken 1-1 away at Swansea on a Wednesday night in December.
  21. The obsession with Bennett continues. Why not Holtby?
  22. My god that half time music was crap!
  23. Seems to be a lot of confidence around this one. It’ll be a tough game tonight.
