  1. No idea if your figures are right or wrong matey. As far as I’m concerned we are financially fooked. No great shock there. Why do you think we all want new owners and/or PL income. Our club infrastructure relied on it and Venkys set fire to it all. You meanwhile have been promoted at just the right time, and on the face of it are being very well run. I console myself in that we flew close to the sun but in doing so became champions of England thanks to a self made Blackburn man. Whilst your time has seen you peak at 7th and will get to watch some back water former Intertoto cup regular in front of a bumper 20,000 crowd. Yet, will spectacularly miss the glaring irony of trying to take the piss by “remember that incident in that Rovers Champions League game”.
  2. Took you long enough to get back to me on that one. Were you waiting for your turn on the Bumley municipal interweb computer down at the town hall?
  3. He needs demoting that bloke. Full of his own self-importance. Gets to them all eventually.
  4. I’m sure these crap pitch invasions used to be reserved for lower and non-league sides who had either escaped relegation on the last day or just got promoted. Not ex-PL teams who have done nothing more then reach the play-off final. Tacky, classless but now seemingly obligatory.
  5. Mike Dean just bottled sending off the Villa keeper for handling outside his box. Looked on its way in.
  6. Can’t see him playing for us ever again. Shame, he looked a good ‘un.
  7. You really are overly sensitive at times. You jumped down my throat about the window not being open this minute when the point was that we are entering the recruitment period. I.e. you missed the point. That isn’t talking down to you. Your statement that “we need 6 or 7 players nothing more” is preposterous. That’s one-third of the squad that needs replacing. Pretty significant. “In the positions I’ve listed below” You don’t seem to notice your own arrogance at times. But you don’t seem to notice issues like our right back problem. And when specific players are mentioned you start pontificating. Put it this way, you say we need 6 or 7 players. Which current players (not just positions) do you therefor feel aren’t good enough for the Championship?
  8. The sheer pace and power is what I find most frightening. Proper athletes. We need to improve the pace of our squad. Here’s hoping for some decent loanees.
  9. Redemption? Pah! They need to show some contrition first Promotion back to where they bought us might just about mean a fresh start but until then I’m happy to ignore them.
  10. Why do we know investment is unlikely. The loons backed him last season and he is going over for talks. Not talking about “replacing back up players”. We need to upgrade or we will almost certainly struggle against relegation. Unlike you to be confused.
  11. He missed the point completely. The point is that we don’t need to shuffle the pack to cover during the close season. We can buy round pegs for round holes. (Not actual pegs, Chaddy, players). Unbelievable that others think that Caddis, Gladwin, Downing and Leutwiler, and even Samuel have any place in a Championship squad. Some people really haven’t been paying attention. We need major improvement. ‘Our best players’ need to become ‘amongst our best players, and our worst players touted to other club. Relegation next season is a distinct possibility without reinforcements. Just ask Bolton. And they had Armstrong - one of our best L1 players - for half a season.
  12. Wouldn’t that be something. Biggest boost since...
  13. The first invasion before the game ended was almost exclusively DE I’m afraid. It was a handful of idiots from the BBE. It probably wouldn’t have mattered where they were though, they were all tanked up and getting on there regardless. I agree about holding fans back, although the should now easily be able to cordon off the away fans straight to the away car park and coaches.
  14. Where to start... Chaddy, the transfer window is open, we don’t need to play Bennett out of position. He is more valuable in his midfield berth. Travis? You’ve spent how long telling me he is a midfielder? Now he can fill in there as well as fill in there. Again, if he is a midfielder, we don’t need to play him out of position. Unless you really think he is a right back, you know, where he has been playing all season! Nyambe’s ability as a Championship full back is a matter of opinion. You say he is good enough - based on nothing. I say I’m not convinced. I’d prefer a more experienced player personally but that’s just my opinion. Please don’t get me started on three at the back but presumably you would see Lenihan, Mulgrew and Williams there? I’ve grave doubts over Williams.
  15. Caddis - not good enough for L1 let alone Championship Travis - can he play at rb? Never knew that. Mowbray doesn’t think so. Bennett - midfielder What was the question again?
  16. Nope, we’ve only got 1 right back. When he isn’t fit we have to play a midfielder there. I also have doubts about Nyambe’s ability for the Championship. Bell is probably more suited because of his pace otherwise we’d need a left back as well.
  17. Sentiment could be our undoing this Summer. Not wanting to drop players from first XI to bench, we’ll end up replacing the loanees rather than upgrading any starters. Fingers crossed I’m wrong. A Huth is exactly what we need. Proven pedigree and better than what we have. We need a new striker too, and a right back. And a centre mid. And two wingers. Apart from that, we are in great shape.
  18. Not for a discounted ticket. The JW upper tier would be the only area with space and is the most expensive ticket in the ground. They'd have to go in the BBE upper - or send the family stand back up there. However, with the kind of fan in the Riverside, 90% would just stop going altogether.
  19. The family stand was moved not closed - and to be fair has been a huge success. One of very few - if not the only - successes. I also understand why closing the DE could make sense. I just don’t see how closing the Riverside could work. There is nowhere else for them to go - unless they move the family stand back to the BBE upper. If the DE was full every week then it might be a different story but it wasn’t. I also think that the behaviour of those johnny-come-latelies who went for the DE unreserved seating last weekend creating massive groups who then embarrassed us all by charging the pitch during play won’t have helped matters. The genuine DE regulars looked to all still be in the stand but the chancers didn’t do you any favours.
  20. Minuscule chance of Scott Brown leaving Celtic and even then it wouldn’t be for us. Exactly what a team like ours needs though. Proper fire in his belly.
  21. Bit of a concern that but in bold! Who’s in charge here? It would also explain why we hardly ever have substitutions at HT in games. Players are far more likely to bollock each other but then agree to improve second half. Ultimately, the approach was successful because we were promoted and it did appear that we had a tightly knit squad. But it does show a level of tactical naivety and preference (or even deference) for tumthumping.
  22. Agreed. Don’t get me wrong Conway has been brilliant for us but next season would be one season too far IMHO. If we had pots of money then it might be worth paying for his dressing room influence but we don’t. On a side note, should testimonials now be offered to players if they retire with more than 5 years service rather than 10? With current wages being what they are, and players no longer needing the pay off, it could be to raise money for charity and purely about fans saying farewell to a loyal player... they could even do it during the friendly period.
