I should have known better! Nice thought Stuart, the song does have a Blackburn link after all. But many of the songs fans have adapted for their club have no obvious affinity to the club at all. "You'll never walk alone" has because it was a big hit for a Liverpool group, and "Blue Moon" because City play in blue. Furthermore the words haven't been changed at all in most cases, the fans just adopt them--Hi Ho Silver Lining, I'm forever Blowing Bubbles eg. So what's special to us? No Nay Never I suppose.
-
We need a song that's special to us and can be sung by everyone. "Blue Moon" "Forever Blowing Bubbles" "You'll Never Walk Alone" etc. Can't think of one, mind!

TM's plans should be teased out. -
We won't get bigger crowds till and if we are back in the Premiership.

The first kit we wore after promotion to the Premiership in 1992 was very dark. Loved it personally.
-
You're making the mistake of assuming that £18M would then be available for TM to spend on new players. And that he'd spend it right.

Both legs a bit strange. No way should Liverpool have lost 3-0, should have had at least 2. Same goes for Barcelona last night. Sanchez alone should have had 2 but shot weakly and Messi needs his sights adjusted. One goal and Liverpool would probably have been out of it. However that was as brave an effort from an English team as I ever remember. The pure joy that flowed down from the stands gave me goosebumps. -
A season is too long.
-
I do too but I'd like him back.

4 out of 6 in the North-West! Symbolic of the way the country is going.

I don't recall your original post referring specifically to defenders. As I remember you were talking about the team. We are all unhappy about the defence----the goals against column speaks for itself. But while TM is "unhappy", it didn't create itself did it? It his defence and he's been here for more than 2 seasons.
-
True. I thought about him after I posted but I listed enough to make the point?

Isn't Raya to have face surgery in this off-season? No coincidence that his form went off after that "assault" v West Brom. Surely we have to see how he recovers? That doesn't mean we shouldn't sign another keeper, I hope we do but I wouldn't write off Raya yet. Had too much responsibility too soon, needed an older keeper to watch and learn from.

105 1st team appearances for Rothwell, 97 for Nyambe! But bizarrely we seem to be agreeing! You say above he's been the scapegoat and I agree! Should have played more-------yes?
-
The whole point of my post was that we haven't kept playing him!! Whether he's experienced or not he's still one of those young players who hasn't played enough! Are you still saying he isn't young whereas Rothwell is?
-
He's 21!! Seems young to me full stop!
-
Rothwell----Oxford, not the same as the Championship. You do realise that Nyambe at 21 is 2 years younger than Rothwell?
-
We also need to stop changing the team every week and we need everyone playing in their best positions
-
Yes really! They are the ones I was thinking of! Thanks. Both became regulars too late. But Macgloire, Chapman ,Nyambe, Davenport and Buckley could have been given more chances and they certainly didn't have time to prove much. Nyambe is a bit different, he had an extensive run early on but latterly hasn't featured.

I don't mind "giving them an opportunity". The problem is that the 'opportunity" lasted the whole season or most of it. And it came at the expense of younger players who proved they could do better.
