  1. Minimum £10, no maximum, home club decides…
  2. Please will some boo James McClean for me.
  3. D:Ream - Things Can Only Get Better
  4. A fair enough approach. Mine would involve telling them to f off.
  5. For no obvious reason Wharton doesn’t strike me as someone who’d want to move to London.
  6. The Jam - Going Underground
  7. I think I’ve solved it! The regulation you’re referring to is in regard to players aged under 24 who have been offered but refused new professional contracts with their existing club. The regulation I’ve been referring to is in regard to academy players moving clubs. Edited to add (from your link 👍)…
  8. But a club’s relegation doesn’t necessary harm an individual players reputation. Who knows 🤷‍♂️ It would be far easier if all salaries had to be made public 😁
  9. I’m sure you are, but I thought I’d check you’re looking at an up to date handbook 🧐🤔 I’ve checked and I definitely am 😁
  10. Gotcha 👍 Although I hope he’s not planning to commute from wherever he lives to Ipswich everyday 😁
  11. That’s hindsight though. I’d say at the point we signed them both they had very similar reputations - that’s what any salary offer would (or at least should) have been based on.
  12. Both defenders, at clubs with similar wage bills, with similar number of championship appearances. I just don’t see why we’d have offered them different terms.
  13. Strange as they conflict entirely with the EFL handbook. 🤷‍♂️
  14. You didn’t mention Brittain in your list of who you think our highest earners are. Is there a reason why you think he’d be on less than Hyam?
  15. I wasn’t expecting facts to change your opinion.
  16. Peterborough’s chairman says all sorts of things - I’m not sure how much of it turns out to be true.
  17. Coventry’s wage bill (21-22 accounting period) was about 60% of ours so his salary would probably have been relatively low. Coventry had just finished 12th and us 8th so I doubt we offered him a huge pay rise either.
  18. Wouldn’t you choose Ipswich over Brum?
  19. Thank you for the correction. From memory, Luton’s CEO earned twice as much (emphasis very much on earned!!)
  20. Garry Cook (of Manchester City fame)
  21. The figure in the accounts includes social security costs of £2.8 million - I doubt those are included on the various salary websites.

  23. If we’re paying a striker more money when he scores maybe we should pay him less when he doesn’t 🤔
