Jon Dahl Tomasson - Sweden coach
wilsdenrover replied to Tom's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
He calls the players his players, he calls the CEO our CEO. Very revealing I would say. 🧐 -
‘England are likely to rebuild their one day side’ How does this fit with England giving most of the current one day side new contracts?

Win/draw/loss all equal chance. Why’s that 2/1 and not 3/1? -
Agree 100%. The rule is probably outdated anyway given how much time wasting is allowed by the umpires these days. I’m anticipating the Bangladesh captain getting some short stuff later on…

Would that be odds of 3/1 then? -

Has Garrett ever played left back? -
That Mathews dismissal is an absolute shocker.

We’d certainly have no goalkeepers… -

Not many inexperienced ones are any good at it either. -

Hill might well be our right back but he absolutely is a centre back. -
It really doesn’t. If the ref thinks it’s a foul he obviously gives it but you were talking about the benefit of the doubt. I give up.
-
That’s still not answering my question, forget this specific incident - what do you think should happen in the below hypothetical one? The referee isn’t sure whether a foul has been committed in the box - should he: a) give the benefit of the doubt to the attacking team and give a penalty or b) give the benefit of the doubt to the defending team and wave play on
-
I agree with that but that wasn’t my question. The question was why should the benefit of the doubt always go to the attacking team.

Thank you again Final question (we’ll no promises!) I know the rule doesn’t say you should but with regard to clear goalscoring opportunities did you consider the ‘quality’ of the player who was fouled? ie. Would you have sent off a player for fouling Alan Shearer but not for fouling Chris Brown edited to add - maybe we need an ask Arbo thread 😀 -
Re the bit in bold - why? I agree once the ref made the decision he did there wasn’t enough evidence for VAR to overturn it.

Interesting - how long did you have to submit your report? I’m wondering whether it was sufficient time to ‘reflect’ on the decisions you’d made. Sorry about all the questions! -

Thank you. When you were active did the panel seek your input on any of your decisions which were appealed?* * this question is in no way an assumption that you got any decisions wrong 😄 -

It’s just in the box: DENYING A GOAL OR AN OBVIOUS GOAL-SCORING OPPORTUNITY (DOGSO) Where a player commits an offence against an opponent within their own penalty area which denies an opponent an obvious goal-scoring opportunity and the referee awards a penalty kick, the offender is cautioned if the offence was an attempt to play the ball or a challenge for the ball; in all other circumstances (e.g. holding, pulling, pushing, no possibility to play the ball etc.), the offending player must be sent off. Where a player denies the opposing team a goal or an obvious goal-scoring opportunity by a handball offence, the player is sent off wherever the offence occurs (except a goalkeeper within their penalty area). -

How much is the deposit? -
No conclusive evidence yet the ref got it right. 🤔

Why would PNE be our biggest game? They are nobodies. -
I’m not sure but ignoring that - a push in a defender’s back is always (well nearly always it would seem) a foul these days.
