  1. I think the answer is simple. A lack of strength in depth and the owner’s/board’s failure to address this.
  2. I often argue with myself. I nearly always lose.
  3. Any help?: https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/news/16999652.day-ewood-park-saved-mystery-caller/
  4. Boro look for ways to push the limits (re PSR) whilst our club uses the rules as an excuse for why things can’t be done. Agree wholeheartedly with your final four words.
  5. Pears JRC. Sanderson. ? Pickering Forshaw. Buckley ACD. Dolan. Hedges Gueye One place left…
  6. I’d certainly agree re the interest levels of Boro’s owners vs ours, I was just pointing out the (monetary) investment element. Of course the fact their owners don’t need to ‘plough’ endless millions into Boro could (and probably should) be argued to show how properly run they are. The Venkys believe they’ll get their money back if the club is promoted (source Venkys London accounts) - perhaps they need to back up this belief with some action. I have long given up expecting they will and the day they leave (please say they will) is a day that can’t come soon enough.
  7. I’m not sure Middlesbrough’s owner does invest regularly in the club. What they do appear to do is borrow regularly against future transfer fees due (Akpom, Tavernier etc).
  8. The clubs agree a date, if they can’t the league picks the date.
  9. I think even he’d turn himself down 😁
  10. https://www.rovers.co.uk/news/2025/february/04/emmanuel-eager-to-excite-at-ewood-/
  11. Don’t worry, I believe @jim mk2 is going too so any loss will be attributed to him 😁
  12. I think the answer is: If the forecast doesn’t anticipate a breach of P&S then events such as your example are of no relevance (in regard to P&S) as all it means is the club will stay within the limits by an even wider margin. If the forecast shows there is a risk of a breach then the following applies (with the club possibly having to sell a player by 30/6 to keep within the P&S limits): I hope that all makes sense, and I’m sorry if I’ve bored anyone with this 😁 I would have sent this to @Herbie6590 by DM but that facility still seems to be broken. edited to add: I believe there are two types of ‘punishment’ Those due to a potential breach (based on the projected accounts plus the previous two years final accounts) Those due to an actual breach (based on the finalised accounts (EFL submission deadline 31/12) + the previous two years final accounts) This would explain (and I know my example is PL) why: * Man U have just announced they’re at risk of breaching the limits for 24/25 but… * The PL have only recently announced no one breached the rules for 23/24.
  13. They would, I’ll have a closer nosey at the regs later on to see if and how this is covered. 👍
  14. Rolling cycle yes, I think next year it will be 24/25/26 (see my reply to Herbie)
  15. I don’t think that’s right - see below:
  16. Yep, going to be an interesting (probably not in a good way) summer.
  17. Don’t panic, we could just be using the extra 15 minutes allowed under the quick application process: What is a quick application? If a club is in a ‘Full Application’ at 22:30:00, they will receive a warning that states the system will open a ‘Quick Application’ at 22:45:00, where only certain fields need to be completed. In those last 15 minutes of the Transfer Window, EFL systems allow Clubs to submit the necessary registration form without completing the full application process. Where they do this, the Clubs then have a further 15 minutes to then complete the full application process. This avoids Clubs missing the deadline in circumstances where they have agreed and signed all necessary documents with another Club and the player before 11pm, but still need time to complete the full application.
  18. As of last season there weren’t deal sheets in the EFL - can’t find anything which suggests this has changed.
  19. That’s one way to convince them to join.
  20. Strap in lads, plenty of time for more up and downs 😁😬
  21. Definitely? as it wasn’t mentioned when he signed. https://www.rovers.co.uk/news/2022/august/28/dom-deal-done-/
  22. We could do better than that. You can register a player without him having a work permit so the club could make the assumptions you referred to, sign the player, pay the fee etc etc and then… …have the shock of the ESC application being turned down and a player they can do nothing with! They couldn’t, could they…
  23. An on loan ESC player remains an ESC player for his parent club and **counts as one for the loanee club too** ** clearly this bit only relates to a domestic loan.
  24. 11:45 rumours begin that left back signing may not have met deadline.
