  1. SEG this time instead of SEM
  2. It smacks of relying on agents again to conjure something up because the scouting has failed.
  3. I may be wrong but i'm sure i read a while ago that Brittain was on the previous lots radar as well. Although as with the Hyam and Szmods signings it's GB who has got the deals done surely ?
  4. Bell was an average at best but often poor left back here for some reason but TMs use of the wing back style was often a bit confusing and never really worked. Pickering was considered an upgrade even though he has way less pace than Bell and needs protecting at times but is more solid. When i saw Bell for Luton last season he didn't look much different to when he was here although perhaps improved going forwards. I guess their style just suited his strengths better and of course the one thing you need about all else in the prem it seems is pace, he has that.
  5. JDT and Waggot seem to have a different opinion now on the job he came in to do, one is putting spin on it one isn't. Not too difficult to guess who. The O'Brian signing attempt was either a statement or a mirage but it's certain something was off with it. Where was Steve that night by the way, enjoying the prawns at Brum wasn't he ?
  6. If you have a project you have to convince people to get onboard with it and get behind it especially in an area like this where money is so tight and some people even tighter. If you don't then it's just the loyal fans and the casual ones who'll come to odd games or need a winning run to convince them. The manager and team try their best i'm convinced of that and they send out the right vibes but the Owners and CEO do the exact opposite. That certainly doesn't help.
  7. It's all Akons fault blagging big Barry for 3 million when we needed a striker !
  8. Non of them seem to be mentioning 1 win in 5 and losing 5 of the last 8 mostly with a squad that finished 6th last season. Despite losing their best striker they have a lot of talented young fwds that suddenly aren't firing and TM as soon as he went there announced his longer term plan was wide fwds. Also his big signing has predictably struggled and was always the kind of gamble someone like he would make.
  9. Over 2k to Sheff Weds at 30 quid for most is a top effort and p4p like them bringing 4k here.
  10. Walking down LBR before the last encounter and loads of their not so young urban inbreds singing the Jack Walker song that their 6 fingered country cousins from the Lancs/Yorks border sing. Sums them up although i do remember these games used to get a bit tasty back in the day.
  11. Apparently lost 5 of the last 8 so looking at it like that the writing was on the wall.
  12. As others have pointed out it all starts from the top and if you are sat in the middle earning 200k plus benefits just to keep the lights on why would you bother about anything else ? He isn't a young ambitious CEO, he isn't one with any experience of building top 6 challenging clubs anywhere, quite the opposite. And he isn't from the area nor a lifelong fan, nor are ANY on the board of active so called directors.
  13. Difference being i think up there there is an actual board to argue with and put your point across. Whereas here it's just shouting into a void after the CEO tells you he'll speak to the owners conduit and he'll get back to you.
  14. I doubt he'd touch it though having seen what has gone on recently.
  15. Where i now live in Chorley almost on the Coppull border a few years ago when PNE slashed their early bird prices we got not one but two a few months apart hand delivered papers through the door advertising them. Also there was a few large adverts in the Chorley Guardian and citizen as well as the LP. A year or two before that it was Bolton Wanderers sending players into local schools around here handing tickets out. Meanwhile in Blackburn there were buses and taxis driving around advertising out of date Rovers STs from about 3 years earlier !
  16. Probably because whilst a lot welcomed him back the fee was way over the top as was the BBD fee at the time. This man is so out of touch it's quite painful but then again this is a guy who recently thought it was a good idea to tell everyone we'd bought the best team coach in world football when in fact we hadn't. Spin doctor.
  17. Think our late game collapse habit will strike again here against another side with real strength in key areas. Need to be a few goals in front plus the coaching staff need to up their game in regards to subs and late game management with clearly fatigued players. Not so easy when the bench is devoid of experience and quality but against Brum and in some ways Nob End it really was a question of fresh legs and instruction to keep the shape and clear the lines a bit sharper.
  18. Whilst there is quite a bit of angst from their support at this understandably i also think it's worth noting 1 win in 5 could then become 6/7 and most would turn on him anyway. Also the real reasons they've parted ways hasn't come to light yet and it could be any number of reasons but he was always a short term appointment there. If they get someone interesting in and he starts well TM will soon be forgotten about, remember here half the fanbase seemed to think he was the messiah. He really wasn't.
  19. I was thinking the sums seem unusually excessive especially at a time we've allegedly reduced the wage bill a bit, not spent significant fees, have some transfer income etc. Although if they haven't sent any since last Jan apart from the sponsorship then the overdraft is probably busting at the seams.
  20. There is no real logic now in offering the extension as we'll not get a fee for him anyway unless of course he comes back and finishes the season strongly. Got to balance out what sort of fee we'd get if someone was interested compared to what a contract extension will cost and the cost plus risk basis. I think the last chance of a good move for him and us left the building in Sunderland last night.
  21. He says the club isn't under investigation and that is good but it's not actually the club being under suspicion of miss appropriated funds. It's the money leaving VH and where it actually all goes whilst under the guise of being 100% for football club operations. If they are pouring over every transfer of money over the last decade and following its trail it will take a while. It might just uncover a skeleton or two as well.
  22. No obviously not, i mean we didn't sell 30 million worth of players in a short time then not make a cash signing for 2 years -c200k-.getting relegated in the process. Nor did we sell two players this summer for a combined 4.5 million.
  23. Well that's been happening since day dot anyway so they wouldn't need to order it, it's already how we operate.
  24. That's how he operates though he's very ex player orientated and he feels sorry for certain players using other peoples money. Many examples in his time here.
