  1. They are always given as many as they need but obviously need to shift the initial allocation first. They usually get pay on the day as well.
  2. A load of their lot this is the only home and away game they turn out for whereas our lot it's just the usual regulars. Big knicker twisting game to them, to us ? Nah sorry you're not Burnley or even Bolton.
  3. No it's worse, he's teetotal and his fav band to listen to on a Sat night is Coldplay ! Only a man with zero imagination could live like that, Monks have more fun.
  4. Good old Tony it didn't take him long up there to start fishing in the old pals pond. A leopard never changes its spots he'll be reuniting him with BBD if he gets the chance.
  5. So it looks like over 15 million into that company now in form of venture capital and share issue which may be roughly the clubs losses this term, taking into account budget cut and player income. Is that what is taking shape here i wonder ?
  6. John Ruddy Keeping goal for the first team whilst mentoring one of the others for a season or two.
  7. Can't be doing with them but they are like us one of footballs most historic clubs.
  8. DoF and Head Coach no doubt but the 'club' won't seeing as that wage saving and that transfer income fit right into the cost cutting and bill paying agenda.
  9. There are different kinds of potless i think that's a point a few are missing. Norwich get 25k ave being the only club in an entire area and i'd presume their corporate and sponsorship takings dwarf ours as well. So they are able to work with - again presumably - a bigger wage budget. They'll have some players on double what most of our lot are on now. So if a guy goes in there he might not have money to actually spend but he has more to work with if they allow him to ship a few out off the payroll. Then unlike here they keep the same budget and let him bring in players from a different wage structure to us. Mowbray had that for a while here he had many players already on and coming in on 10.15 even 20k pwk. That's all gone now but what would JDT give to work in a structure like that to try and make better players better rather than trying to create them from raw potential ? The exact thing he needs now at Ewood which is the ability to draft in one or two more experienced quality players is gone. There are numerous other clubs in this league where it would still be possible.
  10. Fair play to Steele it seemed the winds of fortune blew in his direction after a hard apprenticeship. He'll never be what i'd call a good keeper though and i suspect its helped that even though he's at a higher level the defenders around him are of that level. The axis of him, Hanley and Duffy here was a poor one i don't care what anybody says. Then that was replaced by the likes of Greer and Wes Brown to name but two, no wonder his already fragile confidence was gone. He like a few others imo will also have benefited from the lack of good English keepers knocking around when they used to be ten a penny. And the overall standard in keeping dropping right across the game.
  11. Even in the Championship now it wouldn't be difficult for him to move to a club with a bigger budget and more ambition. Likes of Boro or even Sunderland are ones to keep an eye on.
  12. When are we going to learn about writing off young players ? We are just back to where we were in the early days of Steel and Raya, both are playing top flight football now. Yes there is right to be concerned but i absolutely knew we'd be going down this road just the same as we did with Pears, Raya, Steel. What we need to compliment the goalies at Ewood is an experienced guy with a bit of life left in him who can be called upon if needed. Who is working with the other keepers day to day passing on his experience whilst at the same time keeping a bit of pressure on them knowing they could lose their place to him. Sadly even if we could find one these lot won't pay the wages but if you want to be a development club that's what you need.
  13. Chief of some sort of Sporting & Comms agency so probably a pal of his i'd wager.
  14. It's hard to get to grips with seeing as we've had a long line of good steady goalkeepers in general up until a decade ago. No surprises why that changed but i thought we'd struck lucky again finally with TK and he'd be here until his late 30's joining other legendary Rovers stoppers. Sadly and i'm saying it again for the umpteenth time we are a development club now and this is as good as it'll get when they scour around for cheap wage players.
  15. We simply must start fast and aggressive in this and get on the scoresheet first and not let them get a foothold otherwise it could be trouble. Please send the day tripping cup final once a season horde back to Brig, Leyland and Lostock Hall with nothing but misery in their veins. Rovers 2 Throbbers 2 18,787
  16. Norwich are poor but that was an excellent performance from Rovers. Great to see Dolan back to his lively best and Sammy as predicted last year fast becoming a goalscoring talisman. Defence excellent not as many self inflicted hairy moments as usual. Continue to worry about Scott Wharton the sending off seemed a bit harsh but he was done a time or two today. Leo is an odd one and a bit of a Raya situation developing again imo. Looks a good keeper in everything but balls coming across him either low or high where he flaps at them all. Hopefully something that can be ironed out. Tronsdat and Hill are mustard but Norwich need to go back to being sponsored by Colemans !
  17. They want people to bid for our players that's what it's all about JDT has said as much but it's kind of counter productive when it doesn't work.
  18. Sigardsson started well and showed he clearly has some quality but hes been a raging disappointment since it looks like Brereton mk 2 with less goal threat.
  19. Yep if we got 15k home fans every week which would be fantastic for a town like Blackburn it still wouldn't make very much difference. That's a point lost on the crowd knockers who'd still moan that we didn't get 20k. Most clubs at this level need outside funding and a lot still lose 10/20 million a season. These lot have created that kind of model here yet we often get out performed by clubs who lose a lot less. We should have been a sensible trading club years ago when Bowyer put value into the squad, What happened ? they stopped signing players then had a fire sale to rake in 30 million. Replaced with a load of trash, got relegated and lost even more money, a repeat of that wouldn't be surprising if and when the academy conveyor belt hits its glass ceiling.
  20. Seems the Times weren't very impressed with us there they obviously don't mark for effort or make allowances for the monumental gulf in class and value. Clueless in other words.
  21. I knew the clamour for Leo over Pears would go pretty much the same way he's just another rookie keeper in this league when all is said and done. Seems young keepers now have to be a min 6'3" and a maximum 11 stone wet through they are all so weak and the emphasis on playing from the back over rules the basics a solid goalkeeping. He needs time but basic errors are nothing to do with new leagues and new countries however this is the life of a development squad, they have to develop then we can sell them for 2.5 million when we are desperate for cash.
  22. He'll be happy with it until there is an interesting offer i'd wager and that won't be long in coming. His initial anger at the project change seems to have abated into acceptance that hes been duped but the best damage limitation is to keep doing what he's doing, whilst pointing out and hinting constantly he himself has ambitions beyond this place.
  23. We are finally set to be what many of us suspected was the aim years ago, modern bigger version of Dario Gradis Crewe but with double the gates and quadruple the losses. That won't last long.
  24. Hes now realised he's here just as a development coach nothing more nothing less and the club is run day to day by a few just drawing a wage, nothing more nothing less. The future was bright here 12 months ago but now we are just set for a rerun of the GB and Mowbray years, except unlike the very fortunate Mowbray this coach will have players sold from under him regularly and no reinvestment.
