If they bought the club with personal money and that 145 mill is just what the company has pumped in over the last decade it should be easier for them to sell it. They'd get a decent amount of their initial price back whilst the rest could be easily written off. Sadly that's probably not the case but it would put paid to the theories of they won't sell because they need 200 million firmly to bed.

Can't see how the payments into VLL to fund the club have been illegal unless they are down on the VH books as something else. VLL was set up to own and fund the club to comply with British law and the ultimate parent company is VH group. Seems to back up my long help opinion yet again that VH company profits do fund the club not some personal stash from the generous Rao. Nor some mythical gargantuan borrowings linked to acres of land in Pune, just a plain old business set up that uses surplus funds, boosts the portfolio as overseas investment whilst offsetting a chunk of tax in India. Hence why their authorities are now so arsey about it. Maybe just maybe if they agreed to stop sending 10/20 million over here every year all this will be dropped and go away....

As always with them it just leaves us in limbo but iv'e a feeling if they go down the pan (which they won't) then we will be dragged down with them. We'll end up being owned by another offshoot of their firm and sponsored to the tune of c5 million a year which coupled with our own income should see us comfortably hovering around the upper end of league 1. But hey it's ok as they'll still be paying the bills and keeping us in business !
-
Yet they were still advertising about 4 various roles across the club so there can't be no cash at all otherwise surely cutbacks would effect everything. The closure of the BBE for that game imo was just Waggot being opportunistic whilst having excuse to do something he'll have wanted to do for years. All to save about 2 grand.

So we'll need to raise 15 million next year from somewhere by the looks of it because it looks like they are now totally screwed for sending cash. Terrific ownership isn't it, f#ck the club up, keep throwing tens of millions at it keep it going but in turn keep on f####g it up. It has to end somehow someday surely?

They are being thoroughly investigated that' for sure but it seems the football club side of it isn't breaking any rules, everything else is though. Pure incompetence that just sums them up to a tee it's no wonder they get very little right when it comes to running rovers. Everything done on a whim i bet the real number of pointless investments they've been involved in down the years could buy a small nation. Just sell the club and get the hell away from us once and for all !

Seems hes taken his last 6 months form from here over there with him so he couldn't have gone to a new club in a much higher league at a worse time really. That's the risk they take with pre agreement signings though and i'm surprised they didn't back out given how bad he was last season here when it really mattered. That last day might well have saved the deal and i expect when he does get a goal over there he'll go on a bit of a streak and look world class for 2 months.

They'll have to sell him for running costs i doubt there'll be a choice.

You'd have hope the light bulbs might have switched on now in Pune if we have a DoF advising them. Selling for peanuts plus a few add ons just to pay a few bills is nonsense but on the flip side hanging on and hanging on because someone has told you there is 20 million on the horizon is also daft. They should have learned now from both scenarios and look to find a balance to it where a player goes when he hits good value after he's done a decent stint in blue and white but before you end up hanging on for unrealistic fees and his contract is being run down. Find that sweet spot in the middle, 8 / 10 million plus add ons is better than hanging on for 15/20 then losing them for nothing. Key to it all is as much as possible MUST be reinvested asap on a good replacement but that is hopefully why we have the system we do now. Not just to raise bits of capital off homegrown or cheap buys just to pay the bills. The aim must always be building a squad for promotion not water treading.

Stoke or Sunderland by next season.

The Villareal thing was on the cards for a full 12 months or so before he actually signed there. Think he'd set his heart on that and it was a done deal that only a Rovers promotion or a decent Prem offer would have altered.

Sam Szmodics-Your thoughts?
tomphil replied to BRFC4EVA's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Fully deserves it but i always gulp whenever a player of ours gets called up because of the extra injury risk and fatigue. -
It was too late then that's the whole point the old regime who spewed all that money on a kid nowhere near ready had 3 years previous to safeguard it in someway.
-
In the case of Gally it's Crown Football and our old mate who used to get a lot of BRFC business ! At last glance about a third of its current clients have had a foot in Rovers at some point. As for BBD god knows but it was certainly an odd amount of money for the club to suddenly splash out on a complete gamble then not go to proper lengths to protect that gamble for giving some kind of return.

He was never what you'd call a good player though imo because there was very little from him during most games football wise. Scored some good goals but was a bit one dimensional in terms of how he played but when it worked he was dynamite and he worked hard which is unusual for a lot of forwards. Didn't have many strings to his bow though football ability wise so no surprise he looks so uncomfortable at the level he's at now.

About time we handed a bit of credit to those who found this lad and got him to sign 👍

But he could have been sold for 15 million a year earlier probably. Which would have made far more sense than hanging on hoping for a promotion miracle the season after or grabbing 8 mill and potentially wrecking another top 6 tilt when his contract was dying out. End of the day the real F up was not getting him on an extension a couple of years before, similar to with a few other young players. Waggot should have been stood down for that alone.
