  1. Mate that's just coulda woulda shoulda talk. Hes gone, Eustace is here that's the reality.
  2. An Indian fan on twitter is adamant it's all political and will resolved overnight with a change of govt over there. So if they are holding off until after the elections we could be in for a long wait !
  3. There's no entertainment in 65% possession, 10 chances created, one taken whilst the opposition create 4 chances score 2 then get gifted another 1 or 2 by our keeper and defence. Game after game.
  4. It will take some time for that to sink in and the anger should always be at those who didn't harness what we had with JDT and took his tools away instead of trying to give him the right ones. He was far from flawless himself and added to his own demise but non of any of that is Eustaces fault he's been given a task and will go about it the best way he can with what he has. There were many rank bad performances away from home under Mowbray and i think Eustace style will be very similar but working with far less at his disposal.
  5. Yep Smodz had a poor game in terms of quality and after he moaned about a couple of short passes to him he then gave it away himself in good positions 3 or 4 times. However he still grafted his nuts off, chased down and tackled back which was vital to the team last night so again it's about the bigger picture. Last night was all about getting some sort of result using what we had and putting performance behind the need for points. Exactly what JDT needed to do but wouldn't and exactly what a lot have been screaming for. Like i said i like a moan but judging from many comments on last night a lot of perspective has been lost, all i was bothered about is 'don't lose, don't throw it away again, don't get caught on the break or let a set piece in.' we didn't.
  6. Leonard looks lively but isn't in the realms of good goalscorer yet if he was he'd be starting every time he was fit. Iv'e seen these Telalovic comparisons frequently with BBD but those making them seem oblivious to the fact he is 24 not 18/19 as BBD was. Therefore he doesn't have that kind of time on his side he is a regular squad member here and needs to be able to contribute something. If he is anything he is the new Nuttall he'll bang them in all day away from first team but at that level he's miles away and it isn't down to youth, it's down the levels of ability.
  7. Of course we are going the right way that's 5 points from 4 games in a very short space of time when it was looking like a lot less. Where was this miraculous change around in results under JDT coming from ? I certainly didn't see it and why has it suddenly been forgotten that we lost at home to a shite QPR and Hudds team, away to Hudds 0-3 and how did we do against Rotherham ? Yet all of a sudden Cardiff away we should be walking over ? Make it make sense, a point away there and a stodgy performance is decent enough in the grand scheme of things. I like a moan where it's justified but some people have lost touch on reality.
  8. It's all about understanding and accepting the current situation we are in and the limitations of the squad but some are a lost cause, no point taking them on. Are we happy ? Of course not but we should be a lot more positive of a safe finish this season than we were and that's all that matters right now.
  9. Nothing wrong with the approach last night. Set out to stop the opposition and go long then opened it up later on and tried to win it. Working with a very limited squad and asking loaness to throw themselves into tackles and in front of the ball. Didn't come off attack wise but there was still some decent bits of play without actually creating anything and that's nothing new. Other clubs, your Brums and Sunderlands and co have bright young players who can nick games like that, we don't. When you concentrate on defence it's going to take something away from the previous flowing back to front attacks it's a price you pay with a limited squad. Can't do both as we saw with JDT so it has to be one or the other at times. That's called plan B.
  10. We played like that many times under Mowbray anyone being honest will testify to that the only difference was they were angled long balls to Gally wide, or Arma or latterly BBD. Pears looks ten times more steady than he did and made two smart stops last night, i'm 100% convinced we lose that game with Leo he'd have found away to gift it. Where is the realism ? We set out to be stodgy, we were we got a point and a clean sheet, job done.
  11. Stop fucking moaning we got a point from another tricky game and we are going the right way so try and be a bit positive for once even eh, it won't kill you.
  12. I just think with the first instalment now then two more 6 months apart and the Raya money will probably be enough to get the accounts signed off for another 12 months. Because it keeps the club solvent, depending on committed outgoings obviously, although no doubt they'd have to promise even further sales and budget cuts. It's not good whatever it is and not sure they could sign it off as owner guaranteeing funding because as far as we can see it they just can't unless the Indian court gives them written assurances.
  13. Could they not just say the club is solvent for the next 12 months due to the Wharton instalments ?
  14. Lets just look at the bigger picture. A week ago we were challenging the bottom 3 not the top 6 but now there's a six point gap and we are heading to midtable and that's what its all about right now. Excellent point well earned from a disjointed but defensively sound performance and the manager is doing exactly what hes been brought in to do. Anything else is immaterial right now and get another point or 3 on Saturday however it might come and we might be able to relax a bit and enjoy the Newcastle game.
  15. Best football the U23s played in recent times was when Johnson was in charge and it was different to the bland over cautious stuff Mowbray tended to serve up a first team level. Leading to calls for the first team to align more with that style, then DJ got promoted to the backroom and hidden from view.......
  16. It would be a strange situation where the DoF is sidelined form first team affairs and transfer activity unless of course on occasion the CEO tells him to oversee certain outgoings/incomings. Like i said before even if he only stays until summer i'd assume his task is to resolve the Leo and Telalovic conundrums by finding them football elsewhere. Maybe though Eustace might make something of Tel with a different style of play but not holding my breath and the prospect of him naturally moving up the pecking order to replace Gallagher in summer is worrying to say the least.
  17. QPR accounts show another 20 mill plus loss taking them into around 350 mill of losses mainly funded by shareholder loans they'll never get back. So yet another one with '20 mill a season' tagline i wish a lot of our fans on SM land would acknowledge these instead of the blinkered view Rovers and Venkys are somehow unique in our situation. Interesting comment by a QPR fan 'only way out of this cycle of yearly losses is promotion OR relegation' which gives license to slash and burn and have a great reset 🤔 !
  18. I think they've been singing that for a while to be honest but yeah tinpot in every way.
  19. Yep iv'e no interest in cup progress if it contributes to relegation. We should be safely in midtable and looking upwards so we can enjoy the cup but right now it's just a hindrance that will no doubt zap more legs and create more injuries.
  20. He has to be allowed to bring his own players in if GB is still here he needs to be working on behalf of the head coach not the other way around. It should be but i think we've seen he isn't up to that task he needs to be told who to go and get and not just box tick for the squad as he sees fit.
  21. Just go back and find the stuff he was saying in the local media at the time it was pretty obvious he was hardly making much effort to keep them. If he's saying that in public what's he saying to then in private, it was the usual shoulder shrugging oh well if they can't get more here they might as well go elsewhere it's a short career they have families, mortgages etc. All amounts to the same thing. Doesn't really matter anyway because the amounts we are talking about wouldn't have added up to the Wharton fee so coming in instalments as it all does it would have disappeared instantly into running costs as per. Selling BBD at his peak for 15 million plus might have had a different outcome but the rest of them Waggot would just have earned his own brownie points telling the owners they could put a bit less in. So it probably wouldn't have made a great deal of difference knowing what we know now, budgets would be slashed anyway and only freed up wages allowed to be used. That's the model.
  22. Yeah because those huge mythical fees were just that and even more fantasy was the idea anything would be re-invested. For the record Mowbray admitted he was telling them to go get more brass elsewhere the complete t##t.
  23. I'm lost for words at these kind of signings given our circumstances as exactly what you expect to happen does happen it's always just when not if. They are saying he took a kick so hopefully it's something he can shake off but even so if you have a strong squad and a few spare quid and are just looking to fill the squad then yes it makes sense on minor gambles. In our position though where it's all hands needed at the pump and ever penny counts it's just stupid. But i suppose if we get 5 or 6 appearances out of him they consider it worth it.
