  1. I was thinking Mowbray mk2 but he's nowhere near as experienced as he was but yeah there are more Crappleton vibes with this fella now.
  2. That's the way i see it, they weren't fazed by the risk and aren't that fazed by relegation that's why there has been #### all urgency this season with anything. Shoulder shrugs all round, the people at the heart of it keep their jobs or are retiring anyway, in India it won't bust their business and will actually save it a few quid. No fucks given.
  3. I think the saving grace there was they were all well paid players so even with the relegation reduction clause written in their contracts they were happy to stay as they got it back in a promised promotion bonus. Waggot won't have had the brains to write that in contracts hes overseen plus all the above and one or two others were too good for league 1. Not sure we can say that this time around about many of them it'll be more like finding their true level so big problems ahead unless they could reinvest sales into a first time bounce back attempt. And again this is Waggot who instead will budget the money to pay bills, tell the owners we don't need much from them and safeguard his own position.
  4. We were always more likely to head to league 1 under these lot than back to the Prem and so it came to pass. Since bouncing back it has always been more likely we'd drop back again than even challenge the top 6 by May and so it'll come to pass whether it's this season or next or the one after. Next time though it'll be a long hard old slog to even get back into the Championship. There is only ever one way out of this doom cycle.
  5. Waggot will just trot out the tired old line 'when a Prem club comes calling' etc etc
  6. We are running a league 1 budget right now that's why we are where we are. Almost as if it was intended because even those idiots running Ewood knew the risk.
  7. I always think setting out to sit back for a draw is asking for trouble but setting out to protect the 0 but showing some intent at the top end is justified. If anyone knows what i mean. Anyway i'd snatch the hand off for a point or three however they might come but still think we need to score first.
  8. I'm sure it would have leaked before now if players hadn't been paid. Maybe he's just a bit crap with money like a lot of them are.
  9. Again, shoving Travis out as with Buckley because they didn't want better earners on the bench has proved totally counter productive both financially and football wise. Clown show.
  10. Likely being on 10-20 grand a week for 6 months Fleck isn't a cheap punt at all it's yet another stupid gamble on a guy with no recent history of being match fit.
  11. It looked like the Burnley game last season but with 5k more visiting fans in the DE. I see no issues with the crowd figure at all it's just a pity it wasn't on a Sat at 3pm where we'd have been looking at 25 thousand plus.
  12. He was a top goal poacher of his type but he was a pretty crap footballer anywhere outside the box, so definitely not fit to lace Shearers boots.
  13. Looked better more central or drifting in from the right, he's another modern day winger who isn't really a winger.
  14. I came across loads of comments on a 90's Rave group on facebook going on about Hardcore Uproar etc. Was good to read it caught the attention of non Rovers fans all over the country, even better knowing so many neutrals were watching our game. Not seen so many complimentary comments aimed at Rovers for a long long time.
  15. What sort of contract will he be on i wonder ? It it's similar to Waggot maybe there isn't one as such and either side has to give a notice period. I don't think Eustace has ever referred to him although i may be wrong but if he's still in situ he'll still be the Head Coaches boss and his first port of call i assume.
  16. It's an odd one as although there'll be connections even if timelines don't add up we have to take into account Broughton was always stating about continuity plans always being in place. So it's hard to gauge whether he did or didn't have involvement in it all though not much point being here if he didn't. As always it's the veil of silence that is the real issue but it does smack of returning to the previous way of working.
  17. That they were Waggots picks and arrived through his channels.
  18. That's what Ewood was built for it always comes alive for games like that and is as good as anywhere in the country when everyone is up for it. Sadly though a decade of middle of the road championship fare and a mostly negative or dour vibes emitting from the inner corridors means more often that not it's a white elephant to modern day Rovers. Waggot enjoyed his champers hob nobbing with Shearer and his Geordie pals though so everything is fine in his corporate pandering world. It's quite pathetic they are happy to have it a third full at times and do nothing about it when they know they could half fill it with home fans with a bold effort on pricing. And it wouldn't affect the billionaire owners wallets one jot nor make much of a dint in the fabled 20 mill per season.
  19. Was tremendous last night the best iv'e seen him here looked a lot stronger and more direct than usual. Still think he's best used as an impact sub.
  20. Lineker is and always has been a knob this is a man who went an entire career and didn't get booked, probably because he never made a tackle. If Mike Tyson was the Baddest Man on the Planet saint Gary was/is the biggest wetwipe. Anyway from watching it back he managed to refrain from his usual sneering towards Rovers in order to respect big Al who was happily going on about his time here until the tax dodger swiftly changed the subject to Newcastle. We had our 5 mins in other words.
  21. Drawn level now twice in the space of a few days against good opposition instead of crumbling so the signs are good.
  22. Yes have to say last night Wharton looked every bit the defender we thought he was going to become a few years ago. Think a lot of it is down to involvement and once he has his favoured position hes found his timing again. It was way off under JDT when he was a bit part player. Also in terms of style i really thought we should have been approaching games against Southampton away and the likes of Leics and Leeds at home in similar fashion.
  23. To be fair Lowe didn't seem to play much of a part under JDT either he was always slumped in his seat after doing his pre match bibs and cones bit. Mowbray had them all a bit more involved for some reason but i agree the whole set up needs new ideas now.
  24. Agree and i was thinking the other night that if a manager like Allardyce came in he'd probably have him doing a role like Diouf did. Get him on the ball in a certain area and just win free kicks etc in positions to deliver into the box. He's an odd player he doesn't have much pace or skill to beat his man but can still cause problems when he is involved around the box. Still a bit too much of a luxury player for me who only seems to want to be involved in the final third for the 'look at me' moments. Get him grafting and he'll be ok.
