I'm a bit surprised at Bell as the LT seemed to think he was being offered one, but clearly they got it wrong.

I suppose this means we are either intending to offer Douglas a contract which I hope not, or we are dipping into the market for another LB.

Well the rumour seems to be he's turned it down because more is being offered elsewhere.

Not sure whether that sends a good message or bad one but if they are sticking to their guns, saying we only rate you at X amount per week that's fair enough.

That suggests we've 'gone for it' before? I must've missed that.

Mowbray asked for experience to compliment the young team. He wanted some who'd seen it and done it. So he got the nod to sign Trybull, Douglas, Ayala and bring Downing back.

They all flopped, he flopped.   There's no denying he had the backing though to 'go for it' that's what this season was suppossed to be about but he didn't go for it. He's telling players in the last couple of games to go out, play with freedom and just go for it. Most of this season and last he's been telling them to sit back and keep the ball in our own half.

    Absolute fraud he is.

He’s been offered a contract but has better offers elsewhere. Rovers won’t match it. We’re on the FFP slide now, this year was our chance financially, we’re now cutting costs to leave a financial gap to go for it again in ~2 years.

Yet another reason why that wet wipe manager should get the shove. Totally wasted the last 2 years backing, now we have to go through this shit again.

Absolutely diabolical he remains stood there the aloof goon.

  4. We have to learn to realize all managerial appointments and sackings are decided well away from Ewood.  Done by the owners and their advisors, affiliates of the old you know who crew these days by the sounds of it.

So nobody around Rovers knows anything other than speculation and hearsay. If it was ever going to happen it would be decided thousands of miles away then relayed here.  They'd probably hire in someone else to do the dirty work as they have in the past.

They take the hiring and firing decisions regardless of what anyone at the club might say. If a director wanted rid of a manager and they liked him the director would get the chop instead. Other side of the coin is even if a director said a manager should stay but they'd decided otherwise then he'd be gone, regardless.

Mowbray for some unfathomable reason has survived where Bowyer didn't. I expect the carrot of him and his pals promising big money for Armstrong is the key to that.  In GB's case i think others were handling all that and his word was weightless.

Just imagine if he rakes in 15 million this summer, cuts the wages budget further then gets a contract extension ?

Because it's very realistic and i'm sure it's what they are angling for. Then into next season and not winning for ten games at some point which is surely to happen again under him. They really wouldn't be able to afford to sack him then, so we have Kean mk2 scenario.

It really doesn't bare thinking about and the only sensible thing to do is do the deed now. Let someone else rebuild it lean and mean even if we have to just consolidate again for a season.

  5. Selling or letting go good academy graduates on the cheap or at end of contract isn't the Brentford model or what the academy is there for.

He could be the 3rd one now under Mowbrays tenure and it isn't a good look.  Say what you want about them individually but all were/are good enough to form part of a good squad. Non have returned big money back to justify their development.

Don't forget though the club exists purely to facilitate these dream realising moves for players.

That's how he and his buddies would like to run it, slap in the middle of the division. Rotating 50 players every 5 games.

They've all but totally brainwashed anyone who'll listen that's all we are capable of.

    Its much greater than Barnsley's.

    And PNE

These are the only comparisons that matter. The Mowbrayism ares where he regularly drags up the clubs with parachute money. Or he'll point to Derby, Sheff Weds as the other side of the coin.

We are all at different junctures with those and bear more similarity these days with the Prestons and Barnsleys.

That he's missed the playoffs by 20 points, and survived an absolutely horrendous 12 game run through Feb and March, suggests to me he's here for life now.

Venkys analysis maybe "we're not going to invest to go up, so may as well stick with Mowbray as it will be cheaper than get someone new".

Issue is all the ingredients are there for relegation next year, but I don't think Venkys can or want to see that.

They never see what is staring them directly in the eyes their heads will be buried again. They'll just sign off the budget and leave these self servers to it.

But of course it's always bad advice that catches them out.....

  9. A difficult season for anybody and everybody, injuries and bad pitches a plenty around the league.

Only in Blackburn though you'd think at times.

Top 6 was always a long shot but fully expected us to be in and around top 10.  Strongest squad we've had since Bowyers 40 goal strike force season.  Like that one mentally too weak from top to bottom and rotation that would make your average bingo machine blow a fuse.

    D minus

Change needed urgently and no better time to do it. Coventrio get gone you're busted flushes who were exposed after lockdown LAST season.

Actively trying to flog Armstrong now:

That’s out of my control. For Adam’s sake let’s hope the phone rings and someone offers us a ridiculous amount of money, we shake him by the hand and we say go and bang in loads of goals in the Premier League and we’ll use some of that money in the team and can find another striker who can bang loads of goals in.

It's the perfect scenario for him he'll take all the credit and flaunt it to the eyes of the owners.  He'll then make a thousand other excuses when there's barely a quid spare from it to re-invest.

Then he'll sign a dolloper from Boro on big wages.

  11. Has he been sacked, stepped down, walked out, resigned yet ?

Has the root and branch started ?

No, close this thread, stop with the Nicko style bet edging and prepare for a rough summer.  Groundhog season next season...or worse.

We've won 5-2 and i'm sick to the back teeth already before the summer has begun.

  12. We are seeing the great reset now, no not involving covid and govt but involving Waggot, Mowbray and their PR company.

The journey to the top 6, that started this season and has so called been building the last 3 years is in fact the journey to avoid relegation from now on.

Some of our own fans need beating with uprooted saplings i swear. How can you even begin to tolerate this shite. Then again most won't it's just the daft social media era that allows this kind of propaganda to take hold and become fact.

We are firmly in Kean/Anderson territory now make no mistake, punch ups in the stands coming next season. Club dumbing down going into overdrive whilst a bunch of chancers cling onto their big salaries bleeding the club.

I mean they've tried to sell half the training ground FFS, what more do people need to see the red lights flashing.

The crowds next season and their reactions will tell the real story not some facebook clowns who put a manager above the club.

possible we`ll be lining up with 2 full backs who ar`nt full backs next season, tony will have the summer to come up with a new set of **** tactics, god alone knows how we`ll be set up

We've recently only got around to having center halves who are center halves. Albeit 1 of them has had to grow into it but he's a bona fide defender now.

So it would be very Mownrayish to now stick people at full back who aren't really full backs. Then ask then to perform like top level wing backs !

Also, Mowbray unwittingly admits that the teams above us have worse quality players. So it's not the players, it's not the supporters (we're not even there), then it must be... the weather!

But he's spent months bemoaning we don't have parachute money, 100 million etc and we can't compete with those above us.

    He's puddled !

Agree, the petulance really set the tone of a man who felt under pressure. That has totally gone and he is calmly talking about the future.

On top of that, the LT sneaked a comment into an article a couple of weeks or so ago that seems to have gone largely unnoticed. It basically said they understand the club will stick with TM this summer.

So all this talk of Tony going after the game tomorrow is going to result in a lot of disappointment for a lot of people I see talking like it's a possibility.

The only pressure was when the local journos starting relaying to him what fans were saying. It dawned on him he'd be rumbled as the bog average low budget manager he is and he didn't like it one bit.

I think that's all it was and nothing from the inside at all other than worrying the owners would take notice of the local rags.  That was all swiftly nipped in the bud by the looks of it.

This is the man who messed up very badly in a 2 team league.

Think about that. It takes some doing.

I wonder what the Clubs PR budget is? Posters on the LT, all over Social Media like a bad rash - doesn't come cheap unless maybe outsourced to a country with a history of call centres and cheap wages.

I'd say County rather than Country, very North east of Yorkshire to be precise.

Offices that say HSH over the door probably.

  17. Survival manager ????

Since when ?   He's a midtable at best manager with multi million pound annual backing.  Without it he's very much a relegation bound manager, we've already had proof of that.

And before his name was over the door here in the relegation season he took Coventry to the bottom of their league.

I am not sure JRC or Chapman will be here either. There has been a pause put on all expenditure and commitiing to any new contracts by Venky's

The rumours presently in India are that Venky's are in discussions with a fellow IPL owning billionaire to come in as an investor into Rovers. If these rumours are true, Venky's won't be making any financial decisions concerning Us.

Same bull this time last year i seem to recall.  Desperate rumors to get a bit of interest going again.

They've repeatedly said they'll not sell to anyone and have ignored other interested parties without even a response. They won't even take proper sponsorship on board, i think the main reason for all that is just so they can do whatever they want in regards to the club. If that means ignoring it for 6/12 at a time then so be it.

That wouldn't be easy with another investor on board and neither would opening the books to someone else.

More chance of TM & fatman being sacked on Monday than that happening. And that's about 50-1 against.

  19. That's an absolute PR plant on the LT thing it's always been home to them.

If we are at just avoiding relegation stage now then WTF has the last 3 seasons and it's investment/development been all about ?

Only a pillock would swallow that garbage but that is the blueprint of a club Mowbray & Waggot want to run.  Suits their agenda down to the ground.

He is desperately trying to prove a point to justify the money he has wasted on Ayala. He has lots of previous in this regard and he will sell it to the gullable set who hang on his every word as a huge positive for next season.

    His shame has no bounds.

Would we be entirely shocked if it was a shop window job and somebody takes Ayala. After he's spent a season here getting fit again in the shadows after his last move to somewhere warm fell through ?

Iv'e lost all trust in this lot over the last 6 months they are just another bunch of self servers.  The veils have well and truly slipped i think we are in for a very strange summer.
