  1. Maybe that was his David Price moment that'll prove to be his undoing. Good potential world level heavy ruined by recurring shattered confidence.
  2. Broken eye socket by sounds of it for Dubois. That's a real bad one phycologicaly for a heavyweight given the bombs they always have to take. Could be a game changer for him unless they are just putting it out to save a bit of face
  3. He was having his head rocked back from the off by Joyce jab. It wasn't going to get any better for him but agree it's not often you see a young hungry tiger give up. The thing that gave me reservations about DD come from when he fought Johnson. He had a similar look on his face last night after a few rounds. An expression of I haven't knocked this guy out yet so what do I do next ? Needs to be more boxer less head hunter. Have to say though it would have been worth ppv money to see Warren squirm at the end. I'd have happily paid for that I cannot stand the little weasel ?
  4. If we are winning and doing well i wouldn't be changing things just to fir Dack back in. We are bigger than 1 player although its not looked that way at times. It might be a dilemma but the team comes first and no doubt at some point in the future we might be relying on him again. That would signal we haven't moved forwards though.
  5. Really looking forward to the Dubois v Joyce fight you can't beat a good old all british tussle between 2 big punchers. Genuine Brits as well these two so it's a bit unique. Like the look of Dubois but this is a good step up and although he's a robot i wouldn't rule out Joyce the longer it goes. Won't be bothering with the Tyson v Jones thing it's just an exhibition spar between 2 old ex pros nothing else. Can't believe the lather that's been going on about it although Tyson has always drawn the eyes of the world no matter what he does. Big fan of both but i agree with Gav it's unlikely he will be swinging after two rounds. Jones was still beating club fighters a couple of years ago so he might stroll through this. No knockouts, no ringside judges etc it really needs one of them to land big early on. Might get a few fireworks then otherwise i think there are going to be a lot of disappointed people. It was always just an exhibition for charity but the media and bookies have promoted like a world title eliminator !
  6. We've seen the steadiness and experience thats been missing for a decade but today we've seen the quality as well.
  7. Finally getting the hang of what to do with Gallagher and getting a bit of payback. Spotlight about to fall on defensive recruitment again though, not rocket science we needed another centre half on the books.
  8. Always the same though, Int break and poor coming off it, bit of criticism gets through abnd they come out bang at it. Then revert to type, the TM hamster wheel. Plenty time to go yet though although we usually need to score early to get the points.
  9. Predictable they were going to try and stamp us out in the middle as that was the engine room the other night.
  10. Whilst you don't want to throw caution to the wind i see no reason to be over cautious either. I reckon they'll try and stamp us out in midfield after seeing that the other night. So it could be a day for wingers, er sorry... wide men. Going off past experience though Rovers 1 Barnsley 1
  11. He's the best keeper since Robbo 100% although the bar hasn't been high. A few getting carried away but that's not a bad thing. Don't think there'll be all this Prem interest though. Maybe an upper end champ club might fancy him. Quality keepers are sparse in this league. I think he's had a more positive effect on the back line than any player signed in recent years. Let's see how he fares for the full season though.
  12. Something feels a little bit different this season as the squad is stronger than its been for years. For me it comes down to the manager applying the right approach and not altering much. These lot will probably come and dig in but score first and earlyish we should go on and win. Sit back again and we'll go behind again.
  13. I think naturally he's a 'wide' forward so it's just a matter of getting that out of him. Needs the team playing well and a solid platform like last night but he's starting to look decent regularly against the more limited teams.
  14. He has the tools to be a beast if used correctly, no point trying to make him into a footballer because he isn't one. Imo just try and improve on what he's got rather than add things he isn't capable of.
  15. That's the one in ten it actually works. Then it has to justify the other 9 !!! Is it only me who's noticed Gallagher seems to have a decent game the same time Brereton does ? Maybe just coincidence or just because the whole team is at it but it does seem that way. Maybe when Brereton is lively it just created a bit more room or something.
  16. The Nobber Facebook pages make entertaining reading this AM. Those who like to chuck stones at the moaning on here could do worse than spend ten mins reading them. They don't hold back although I've not seen any ranting on about losing to a team with a superior budget ? Fair to say their expectation levels appear to outweigh ours without spending good money on transfers and large wages. Odd bunch but always have been, Neil's had them batting way above their station. My advice to them is get rid asap p, Owen Coyle would fit your lot perfectly ?
  17. That's the deeply frustrating side of it with and why we'd be better off now with him gone.
  18. Something else thats been a bit of a dying art that, take those gambles.
  19. Holtby when fit and the rest of the team give him the platform is the new Championship Tugay. The king is dead, long live the king !
  20. Excellent stuff tonight Mowbray got it spot on and the boys delivered, one of our Dr Jekyll performances again thankfully. Outplayed them and bullied them with the ball so they resorted to the nasty stuff the tossers. Strangely subdued performance from them but we'll take it. Waited a long time to see us dick them there. Stuff it up ya you tinpot knobends !
  21. The famous HT team talk 0-1 up away v 10. Go after them and kill it off ? Sit back let them come on then try and exploit the space ? Shut up shop protect the lead, a draw would be a point ? I'd be option A, TM is likely to go option B so he needs Downing on to exploit that space. Option C would be a joke but we've seen it all before !
  22. We're on 5 defeats already and with a couple of exceptions - Preston above Hudds below - i think you have to go to about 19th place to see teams with more. It's not even the end of November yet so whilst i'm not saying the alarm should be sounding a few lightbulbs should be going on somewhere. If there's the continued lack or urgency on the pitch that's all too often plagued this regime i think those in Pune need to be getting on the blower.
  23. They have experience of it which is good but that doesn't mean they are leaders and scrappers. That's what we badly need and besides i'm not sure loanees will be high up in the Ewood dressing room pecking order. The whole squad needs it drilling into them that we need to fight as scrape for as many wins as possible as soon as possible. Here the attitude seems to be just amble on if you don't get it today you might get it tomorrow. There is no tomorrow there's only today, 1 game at a time !!!
  24. Bull headed winning mentality being drilled into the team by sounds of it ? Don't worry that'll be next season
