  1. Can't see that i reckon he'll be offered something to stay on until he's fit again.
  2. At no point whatsoever have we punched above our weight with Mowbray as manager. Or indeed under this ownership. We underachieved and went down, not all his fault as he nearly did enough in his own cautious way. We went up first time as expected and used the resources and what we already had as expected. Since then its been pretty much bang average and reflecting what is available year on year. At no point though have we over achieved or looked like doing so but that is what it will take to propel Rovers into genuine top 6 challengers. That or a bigger budget and high profile manager as tried, tested and proven in the past.
  3. When the manager himself tells everyone in public that a poor performance in which we lost was 'alright'. Then goes on to label himself a performance based manager he is somewhat setting himself up for scrutiny by the desktop managers. We've had 2 back to back poor efforts. lost one, won one. Probably similar to come on Saturday and we might draw. It is what it is but don't cry about it being forcibly debated we can't just cancel out the cons to suit the pros. Even though we are in that culture, debate is healthy and if it feeds back to the gaffer or players and they pull their fingers out it's no bad thing.
  4. That's what i'm saying though they only showed any real urgency when the board went up showing 8 mins. Otherwise it's likely the game would've petered out at 1-1, the subs were already done then. He didn't 'go for it' in injury time via any tactical switch. Dolan looked a late time wasting sub nothing more.
  5. The best of Dack seemed to come when he was able to link up with Graham. Thats gone now so what comes next is anybodies guess.
  6. Or won 1 in the last 4 and only taken 4 points out of a possible 12. Classic midtable stuff.
  7. 8 of those last 10 was time added on, the last sub was on 89 mins and for all anyone knew there was 3 mins left. The settle for a point subs were made way before the end of normal time.
  8. He's a performance related manager he told you so He said the last performance - in which we lost - was alright. That's no doubt played a part in following it up with an even worse one. How does he explain that then seeing as he's just told us he's a ' performance manager ' ? He owes Adam Armstrong big time this season. Last night he pulled Mr Performance right out the mire..... again.
  9. Did you actually watch the game ? Have you been watching them this season ? Genuine question because if you had surely you'd realize last night had very little to do with him chiseling anything out. Most of what we saw from him last night appeared to hinder the team. It was another abject performance. Swapping a raw weak kid who's struggled from the first min for a solid 36 year old ex Prem/ England int who can put his foot on the ball for the last 10 mins is in no way rocket science or a tactical masterstroke. Tony was settling for a draw last night make no mistake. I'm delighted we snatched the win but for 97 mins I was seething. That's the reaction you are seeing from people here.
  10. The need to manage players well in this crazy season speaks for itself. It is the same for every team and club. Where I feel Mowbray differs is he likes to swap game to game. It's in his DNA you don't need a covid season for that. The thing that stops me from giving a lot of benefit of doubt is he isn't letting a settled side find its feet then altering as players tire or struggle. He's just willy nilly changing for changes sake. Even admitting it's tactical not just to keep them fresh. In other words he has a good excuse for his tinkermon approach this season and he's damn well going to make the most of it. It is and always has been his Achilles heel. A browse or conversation with any of his previous clubs supporters will confirm this. At Rovers its often contributed to undoing his other good work. We are seeing it again this season but he's getting a free pass for it in some eyes because of the situation. I challenge those to look a bit deeper.
  11. Yes we'll agree on Armstrong for sure pound for pound TMs best signing. WE/he this season would be really knackered without him. He clearly believes the points are always there to be won until the very death even if his boss doesn't.
  12. I know what to expect so i'll take a point now. You keep thinking sooner or later we'll hit a bit of form and get onto one of the little winning runs that gets everyone dreaming again. Strange season this one though so maybe they are a thing of the past, Armstrong is almost single handedly stopping the death spirals but the flat track bullies have left town as well. Lets hope it's one of those mad Championship freak covid season results again. Stoke 1 Rovers 4
  13. I'm not sure i'm having it he went from 33k per week at Boro to 14k at Ewood, sorry. He'll have been on about 20 grand a week last season with bonuses and the like so he's probably on about 14k now. Something has made him want to keep going and it won't be playing for nothing.
  14. But they haven't got a 7 million pound or a 5 million pound striker in their ranks so no. Do you really think they came to Ewood shitting themselves about that though ? No because it's a football match of 11 v 11 not a bloody accountants meeting. Besides how they feck do you know what their aspirations are ? Not every team below us is as unambitious as Mowbray.
  15. I think he is making the squad stronger and one or two individuals are getting stronger. However he isn't making it count positional wise and doesn't look like doing again. As per it'll all be down to getting the best players fit and relying on the dead rubber run at seasons end. That is what nets us the marginal gains and if it's unkind to us this season there won't be any/ Otherwise it is very much does what it says on the tin time again.
  16. Makes me laugh when they continue to drag finances into when we've just played the likes of Rotherham and Barnsley etc. Desperate clueless stuff to be honest, nobody is expecting we compete with the Watfords and the likes. Do they really think though that the likes of those last night pap on about stuff like that or do they just come and think get stuck in here and think we can get something ? It's 11 v 11 week after week but with this managers rotating and messing it's often like 11 v 10. No wonder he looks like he just wants to protect a point from the off yet purely based on budget we are far stronger than some others. Why does this side often look like it lacks so much confidence in itself ? Has to be down to the dinosaur tactics. Mind you if there was 10k in there last night the crowd would be taking the blame for making players nervous. That's another long standing Rovers myth that lockdown has exposed to be bollocks.
  17. Far from his plans ? He's out with a long injury so yes he probably is at the min. When he's fit though he'll be very much in them in fact i'd wager last night would've seen him in one of his right back starts.
  18. To counter some of the wild claims about peoples opinions on TM lets just assume the ones who still think he's the messiah are the kids from facebook. And other part timers from the Oxford game who aren't even watching matches just picking up on the result when we don't lose. There are many fall into both categories.
  19. The reality is he stifles the life out of this team at times and actually plays into the oppositions hands. They come to stop us so we sit back and let them. Last 2 games he was clearly settling in for the point it's just a good job one or two of these players actually have some belief we can knick it. He's done a decent job here but his real abilities as a manage are way overhyped.
  20. Wages and the offer of Prem football would be the killer there i'd have thought. However even if he had that money and sway i reckon he'd be looking elsewhere and telling the owners he'd rather save their money. He has not got the balls for a real assault on this division.
  21. You wouldn't have seen him and one or two others for dust had Armstrong not stolen that.
  22. Fact It's the same old crap however you dress it up but Armstrong is basically stopping the usual death spirals. Your bizarre loyalty to him is touching but very misguided he's the very definition of captain nowhere.
