  1. David Dunn thinks about David Dunn nothing else he was a good player for us in the rare spells he was ever fit. He flounced off to Brum thinking he was the dogs whatsits because Souness was always on his case for being a piss artist. Flopped there and was very lucky and no doubt greatfull to end up back here. The 'Blackburn' lad tag has carried him a long way and iv'e no doubt he loves the club. He doesn't however speak for thousands of fans and never has. And no way does he have what it takes to be manager here ever, that would be another huge step backwards. Sorry Dunny, stay in your lane.
  2. Another Hoilet in the offing with Nyambe the longer it goes and once he's departed he'll get the old wanted too much money treatment.
  3. Calm down dear i was thinking more in why he's still at the club when other under achievers have been moved on. TM is very big on the squad spirit and all pals together remember.
  4. Is Bells missus one of the clique ? Might explain a few things.
  5. Orrs best mate made an ass of himself a few times under the Venky era keeping his own feet under the table.
  6. Got to look at it like this they bought a club that had Phil Jones and Chris Samba on the books who combined were sold for around 30+ million. So taking that into account then run as it was it was sustainable for another season or two although obviously relying on Sams magic. After that who knows but Rovers in modern times have always needed an experienced big name manager a club like ours needs that profile if nothing else. So it's as fair to assume Williams and co would have come up with the necessary based on past evidence as it is to just assume we'd have dropped anyway. Longer term it needed a radical overhaul and change in tack which might have meant a big step back to regroup and go again more streamlined. They brought in billionaire owners to do the opposite of that though and what it didn't mean was a decade in the wilderness again with no sight of it ever ending. Also judging us by those other clubs is a bit of a false picture anyway. There'll be a few who we batted above for a long time under the trust who are now swimming with the big fish in the Prem and have done for a while. Works both ways.
  7. Doubt they will for the sake of a few games or bench appearances when he's getting regular football here. All depends how serious it gets though i suppose but if a deal has been done for season long loan they might have to cough up if they break it.
  8. Southgate is just another of these caught in a permanent experiment, evolution not revolution remember.
  9. Yes that's right nobody will come to manage England that has any decent pedigree at all. Maybe they should contact messers HSH.
  10. You're not his agent as well are you ? My god you need to google 'glass ceiling' and 'over achieved' . He needs to get gone soon as !
  11. Had w got humped that day most of the crowd would have been howling at the final whistle. I wonder how many of those were berating him and venkys by the Wigan game ?
  12. I don't think you're taking in the whole story here but fair enough it's your opinion and i do give them grudging respect for seemingly seeing it through money wise. However saying it cost them as much as it cost us and they suffered i have to take issue with. They weren't Rovers fans they probably hadn't heard of the club until Anderson thrust it in front of them. They didn't understand it all so couldn't possibly have the same feelings as fans i'm astonished anybody could think they suffered similar. They got involved for other motives and to them it was and still probably is just money. Yes it's cost them an absolute fortune but it's just spare money they would have thrown at something else. It might be on a VH group balance sheet but in all intents and purpose it's written off by them. With their assets and turnovers they can replace that if they wanted to but you cannot put this club back where it was. Nor can you write off all the angst and division it has created for hardcore fans. Never mind the clear economic impact on the town and Ewood area. So no, they didn't really suffer like the club and fans have.
  13. Willful negligence and arrogant we can do it better ourselves have played a big part. Alongside staying complicit with proven incompetence just because they liked them. Very hard to have total sympathy. If you really are great business people you don't smash something to pieces that is already working. If it ends up that way through a series of events partly beyond your control you very quickly get on top of it and revert back to what was working before. Or cut your losses of course. What you don't is bury your heads in the sand and leave it to chance just hoping - and praying - that it suddenly gets better. It took about 7 years, a 150 million, 2 relegations and 3 audits to finally return to something resembling a functioning British professional football club. Some of that was just down to getting lucky with finally landing on a bloke who fit what we were at the time. So the sympathy vote is on hold.
  14. Looking at that you could argue we really need promotion this season ! I just know we'll end up with Evans and Bennett first to be signed up again.
  15. You'd have to pay a fair price for lifelong NDA's i reckon but might be fair to assume 20-25 years or something. If that is the case they've got it well covered. Sadly i think most of those Rovers suits will take it with them to the grave rather than be bothered opening cans of worms. A few probably still get Harrods hampers at Christmas. Another revelation on here is tantric allegedly getting 5 million from each side that's outrageous i thought he was on a million quid finders fee from both sides. That's bad enough but probably standard for that kind of thing, also i recall Kean and his contract bonus for an extra 3 million on top of his c 3 million wages etc. What he hell was all that about!
  16. When 3 rd party ownership was mentioned on here back then it was often shot down in flames but it came to light from that the club was actually under investigation for it. Nothing else has come to light apart from confirmation Kentaro did actually have a contract to run it from day 1 which is bad enough. It still seemed back then very much like a joint project by a big group of people with the Venky name over the door. I remain convinced that for a while at least other investors were on board and whiff of joint ownership was thick in the air for a while.
  17. He got a few stories out of it so i'm sure he's happy but fair play he's obviously not that devious. If he was he could have ended up a director with a nice pay off at some point.
  18. Agree and i suppose age might be a factor some of the replies seem more the knee jerk facebook group type. To imply people are hating on Evans because he had his face smashed in and might not quite be the same is a bit of an insult. If he ends up second half of this season in a midfield partnership with Travis or someone and he's playing well week in week out and we are winning nobody will be complaining. He'll be getting the plaudits and a new contract and we'll be reaping the benefits. Long term though we'd likely be having these same conversations this time next season and that's the whole point in regards to that player. The midfield needs shaking up and changing permanently because as is proven odd little spells aside his type of player doesn't actually help our defensive record nor creates or assists virtually anything.
  19. Nothing that most didn't already know and not much more meat on the bones i'd love an off the record version. Main thing that jumps out from that was how quick this MB was to suss out the Kentaro running the show angle and how long it took the penny to drop everywhere else. I'm referring to people not ITK as well it was obvious to a blind person what was going on. Also the Samba scenario and the Barclays ten million i'm sure we had people on denying the real reasons for all that. Interesting about the transfer of liquidity limit i don't recall that being put forward as a strong reason for the taps being turned right down on here. It was all FFP or they aren't wealthy enough really or of course punishing us for a snowball. Probably the worst nonsense ever pushed on here and that's saying something ?
  20. Definitely only one of those who pops up after a win. Then trawls looking for something negative to highlight.
  21. The term hate really needs clearly defining on here for some. If someone doesn't particularly rate a player going off what they've been paying to watch for years it doesn't automatically mean they hate that player or person.
  22. People's opinions on Evans are mainly football related and based on the last 7 years. He isn't a bad player on his day but it's time for the team to evolve. That means moving people on especially in a position that's being increasingly well covered and has badly needed a real upgrade for years. He's neither good enough nor fit enough on a regular basis to be in the side. That's before any on the NI stuff. Most of the posts are reasonable enough and the same things have been being said for years. Nobody is picking on him because of his bad injury. Virtually everyone expressed dismay and sympathy at that at the time. But of course the regular MB protagonists chose to ignore it and focus on the negative. Let's give him another 2 year contract then so they can sleep at night.
  23. Never been down there was scheduled to go in the cup that early kick off when i think Samba made his debut. The night before got out of hand though so i missed the transport. Think we won quite comfortably but i don't think this one will be as comfy we are often useless just after these breaks. 0 - 0
  24. What an apt day for that to come around 10 years on Friday the 13th, a true horror story for any long standing fan.
