Leeds (A) - Same as last year lads... kind of.
tomphil replied to a topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Possibly because he has better around him and to me i think he operates in a more forward role and looks more comfortable. Maybe it's just international football that offers more space but he seems to cover a bit more ground in the NI shirt. Evans though for us has always always been a player who only plays when when the rest of the team is having a purple patch. He needs everyone around him doing well in order to look good like the back end of the promotion season. -
I'd have taken him in a heartbeat over some of the dross under Venkys that's for sure but right now probably not. We are in a similar position to under Bowyer although you'd like to think behind the scenes is calmer and the wage bill is a bit more sensible. So we really need someone with a proper pedigree now whilst the platform created by Mowbray is still in place. We need to kick on not have it pulled to bits and have yet another rebuild attempt so it's time for proven quality. That costs though and takes effort to secure so very unlikely but it's a pivotal time. Blackburn Rovers needs a big name manager and they are usually the ones who've delivered for us in the past. You get what you pay for although i dread to think how much they are paying TM now.... Failing all that then it just needs someone with a serious pair of bollocks !

That's why they moved the camera gantry apparently. Didn't they claim every game is beamed live into the farmhouse in Pune ?

Raw kid in a key position, these things are going to happen sadly. The dopey thing is allegedly shelling out a million quid loan fee on someone like that. I'll say it again the money shelled out on him and Downings contracts etc would've gone a long way to signing Bauer. A proper centre half with sell on potential. The thinking behind some of the stuff like this is bordering on clueless. -
David Lowe ? He's been here long enough he might be a Tony Parkes, get back to basics and get some points on the board. If him or Johnson or the both of them got us to the end of the season in lower mid then maybe a rethink in summer. What's the difference between them doing it or Mowbray ? At least there'd be a platform for change created instead of limping to summer then limping into next season groundhog style as we surely will.

Some Leeds fan tweeted their keeper had more successful passes than any BRFC player. A whole new approach needed from summer if not right now. So much for this passing side, man and his coaches haven't got one clue what suits their players. -
He is a good manager, club manager that is behind the scenes and terms of putting players first. On the pitch he's absolute bang average to poor and yes many of us said the same in league 1. He got the job done and did well and earned many plaudits but it was pretty much expected given what he had to play with. His one and only masterstroke was getting Dack in and even then he stumbled on and was fortunate for the fact that him and Graham instantly clicked. Once he'd changed the daft formation he'd planned to use. He's stabilised the club for sure but on the pitch we are going clearly backwards and the club itself will never kick on until things are as they should be at first team level. Doesn't matter how much good work goes on behind the scenes because it'll be wasted if we drop again.

If O'Neil takes Evans in Jan he's an absolute f#### legend in my book. Knowing our lot they'll give him a pay rise to keep him, i'd be hard pressed if it came to a choice of him out or the manager. Sick of that waste of space stealing a living here when his wages and squad place could be used so much better. Ruthless Mowbray phasing players out my arse he's a drip. He might be trying to phase them out with one hand but gives them a lifeline with the other, Tony two minds. -
I said before PNE he was in 3 game territory for me and that's 3 points from 9. Just the kind of thing that'll keep his head above water but keep the team floundering. Fully expect similar from the next 3, after the next mini piss up holidays of course. If this carries on it'll be a full blown crisis by the end of Jan. Absolutely no point saying next 3 games though.

Then he should stick to basic bread and butter beans on toast formations and tactics and play to his own coaching strengths !!! We'd be better off for it, not much but every bit counts. -

I don't know about over thinking as sometimes his subs just seem to be shuffle the pack to get the ones on he wants to give a run. -
I'm not sure there actually is one because of the lack of balance that's why he feels he has to shuffle the pack all the time. He doesn't know it if there is but a quarter way through a season and we haven't started the same side more than twice if at all says everything about his management style. He's a man who forever lives in a twighlight zone the mechanics of getting the right cogs in the right places, making them function then leaving them there is alien to him. Certainly in this division anyway.
-
Well he's the only real left sided option in this unbalanced squad, in TMs mind that is obviously discounting the left sided player Downing. Oh and the left footed Bell who looks like he might be better there than LB. Then on the other side of the coin Armstrong might be this seasons project, regular games, a few goals, prove versatile ( even if he isn't really ) = Value goes up.

It's been like musical chairs at Leeds down the years. The old end behind the goal which if i recall right was terrace at the front and seats at the back though maybe wrong. Remember it being rammed in there a couple of times when Mackay was our manager then we went one year rammed in a small enclosure at the side with some home nutters periodically trying to climb in ? Then it was the corner i think or poss back behind the goal all seated, then the corner again for years before last time i went it was the opposite side section. Police and stewards were clowns that day as well crammed in underneath and they would only let fans use one set of stairs whilst the far end had nobody in it. I think that was £34 bought before the day so since then they can shove it, shame because it's one of the better places to visit in terms of that traditional big match feel. -

In the cauldron of Elland road i'd not be surprised at all to see Bennett give away another goal tomorrow somehow. -
His opinions and he's entitled to them just as some are to disagree. He has the platform there though to say his bit to a huge audience with the safety net of no direct replies. When he has a pop at fans or comes out with stuff that's a bit 'superfan' . Or goes against what others feel is actually happening he's fair game. I'm sure he knows that.

Unpopular opinion maybe but I'd stick with Tosin for now. Let's see what he can do -
Screenshotting ! But i'm not bothered, so not bothered i might write a post about it.... ?
-
Even if he doesn't go back that far Rhodes, Cairney, Marshall, Gestede, King, Conway ! Come on that's a fair old pool of attacking talent so to say we have more now is beyond daft. No point counting Chapman and Brereton, Samuel also doesn't come into the equation.
-
The irony of these 'not bothered' column writing types is hilarious, Smith certainly isn't alone in that. Egos like eggshells ?

Still got to be built on rock solid foundations though so that would mean tossing aside Mowbrays make do and mend keeper / defender philosphy for something a bit better. The players are out there though it just takes a bit of nous.
