  1. A guaranteed following of at least 2k.
  2. What he's really saying is he can't handle different personalities he wants them all the same. Weak management.
  3. Promoting Venus, hiding in the dugout recently letting Venus patrol the touchline even though he's supposed to be Director of football operations now. Going on about not wanting to be in the middle of the championship when he's even failing on that so far. Yaking about a 2 week break, being a family man, wanting to play with his kids etc etc. He's talking to Pune alright but just what is he trying to say ? Something isn't right about all this.
  4. However the move actually came about there's no denying they've cashed in on Raya put that money in another direction and gone for the cheap short term fix solution. Ridiculous really but i guess it just shows how little Mowbray rated Raya when he thinks another clubs 3rd/4th choice is a good replacement. Given who brought Walton in i'd not be surprised if we don't end up giving him a permanent deal at some point ! Anyway hopefully he shapes up but there still is no real competition after they very generously retained the other lad as well.
  5. They are applying big city big club logic to what has become very much back to its small town roots. This was predicted though on here when Waggot arrived having been at Charlton and Coventry. Arguably lesser profile clubs yes but one in a London suburb and one all on its own in a city 3 times the size of Blackburn. What works there has never worked here, clue is in the likes of Bradford and Huddersfield, that's what works in these areas. Anything else is to coin the phrase of another well meaning but slightly deluded one 'kicking the can down the street'. Big club in a small town said John Williams when we were stable in the Prem averaging 22k. Sadly not anymore we are what we are now.
  6. He's gone a long way to causing them with his cackhanded running of that club so perhaps he's taking a bit of responsibility back. Be interesting to see if they follow that up with any cheap ST deals next season. Like us they always had a stadium a bit too big for them but being a large area i suppose it was justified when they were doing ok in the Prem. Their gates have plummeted and there are similarities between that guys tenure and Venkys although at least he did deliver the Prem at one point. Us however are still supposed to be eternally grateful to these owners and manager for promotion from league one.....after they plonked us there in the first place for the first time in 40 years.
  7. He's always been good at telling fans what they want to hear since he first arrived but it was welcomed in his open honest way. Last 6 months though he's become very good at talking 'the talk' instead, absolutely highlighted by the two interviews this week. Have to agee with him on the leaders thing though but we heard exactly the same from Bowyer after all he did was go out of his way to source nice lads. To be fair though that's the way it is these days there just aren't those types around it doesn't seem. The way the games changed and the fact they nearly all come through some academy or other has drilled out all the characters and churns out robotic players imo. However i'm not having him making out Lenihen and Williams are some kind of Samba & Nelson the fact of that is the change of style was working in front of them. Once opposition teams saw this they've changed to exploit it a bit like we caught teams out early last season with the counter attacking. Once that was sussed we didn't win for what felt like months. Might be difficult to recruit the robust leader types these days fair enough but still zero excuse for not strengthening defence by getting better than what we have. Nor sourcing a good keeper instead of someone else's 3rd or 4th choice and whacking all the budget in one forward again.
  8. It is just classic Venky era Rovers and the dingbats they pay big money to to come up with these dumb ideas. Scrimp and penny pinch with one hand whilst wasting it with the other. The end result is usually just pissing more people off, spoiling the atmosphere and showing themselves clueless. Still get paid the same though.
  9. It's always like that though it's the ones sitting on the fence who hold sway as far as the atmosphere is concerned. Winning and they'll happy clap with TMs staunchest, draw and it's silence but lose again they might just howl with those who've seen through it all this season and have had enough. Remember the first home game in Lge 1 ? That was quite fierce and came out of nowhere and when those in the middle - the majority - finally blow they tend to stay that way. Not that it'll make any difference.
  10. I was going to say i think the real Rovers will show up in this but actually i think we saw them last week ! So hopefully the more dogged bland version we saw briefly for a few games early season might have a rare outing. We just need a result i know the pitchforks are out for the manager and rightly so but we need a point or three. Personally i really don't want to hear anymore of his nonsense if we lose again just some plain honesty or nothing at all will suffice. Rovers 1 Owls 1 13,879 and Waggot applying for his Christmas bonus early courtesy of Wednesday fans hard earned.
  11. These fake news things pop up every time a manager is under pressure here, clubs or Roas/Agents ten bob PR people at it again. Feck em !
  12. Think they brought about 1800 that night, great effort from them. That was when GB had spent the summer coming out with similar soundbites to Mowbray and made a couple of positives signings so hope was up. It evaporated within about ten mins when it was clear he'd set up for a draw at home first game of the season. Compounded totally when the centre back playing at right back got injured, went off and he left the RB on the bench and moved Lowe to right back. You have to ask why there wasn't a similar buzz first home game this until you realise we've seen and heard it all before, when you know you know. Therefore something needs doing on and off the pitch if they want to get more in.
  13. Looks like it is justified then but i suppose you can find enough out of half of a city that size keen enough at the end of the day. Personally i don't care how loyal or passionate a fan you are or whether you can afford it you have to be off your rocker to pay that for a second tier football match. Asking to be ripped off time and again and playing right into the hands of the suits half of who are laughing at it and just thinking about their own bonuses or payrises. Times like this fans should stick together and stick two fingers up at it but there is nowt more weird than people. Then again they probably think it is a nailed on 3 points they don't even half to worry about going several goals behind !
  14. It hasn't made a blind bit of difference to the home form in fact its gone worse. Would the team prefer 400 hundred home fans down that corner when they are kicking that way ? I'd wager 100% they would. Just like the signing of certain players and the investing of money the NON football decisions rule at Ewood.
  15. I think that's a big part of the reason he punted Woy when he did as well as the results obviously. Had he invested a bit more wisely or not spent as much i reckon he'd have survived a bit longer. Jack to be fair did all his managerial gambles in the pursuit of more success and backed them all with big money so it was always eventually going to come good again. This lot want to penny pinch with one hand whilst at the same time the other hand pours money directly down the toilet. Surround yourself with the best, pay for it and it will eventually deliver was Jacks motto. Happily flounder along whilst making rich any Tom, Dick or Harry who your mates bring in seems to have been Venkys.
  16. I think what we have now with TM is a Ray Harford type scenario with fans, most still like him and are grateful for the decent stuff he's done but have known for a long time it isn't really working out. They just haven't got the heart to turn on him or hound him out...yet...and just hope someone will step up and do the deed for everybody's sake. Jack was allegedly in tears when he sacked Ray saying sorry its come to this son but i have to put the club first ! Maybe we aren't at that juncture position wise but if things don't turn around starting on Saturday you wouldn't bet against it in another months time.
  17. You'd expect around 2.5k unless they are on a good roll so if that number is halved on Sat it's two fingers to it. If it is on or around a similar number they've bitten the bullet but more fool them making a rod for their own backs because it'll probably be dearer next season. Either way Waggot and Cheston shrug their shoulders and enjoy a nice expensive bottle of red on Saturday evening win lose or draw. Tony rushes home to do the family tombola night with the Mowbray clan in front of the log burner in the front room.
  18. The comparisons were with Sheff Utd early last season then when that fizzled out it was Preston now they've tanked us yet again we are somehow going to morph into Villa ! He really needs to STFU now but when you are speaking to people 3000 miles away i suppose you have to keep shouting.
  19. At what point does debt become just money spent ?
  20. I'm 99 percent certain this fella would give Nobbers half the riverside as well if he thought he could get away with it to rinse a few extra quid. It is their annual cup final and almost a guaranteed point or three after all with his pal in the dugout.
  21. I don't think clubs having a membership scheme is such a bad thing but it needs to be made attractive to join. It all gets a bit of a feel of being held to ransom when you look at things like this though. Buy a season ticket ---- To save because we are going to jack up match day prices. Buy a membership ----- To save because we are going to jack up matchday prices AND introduce A+ to screw away fans.
  22. We get a nosebleed and retreat at 2 goals up that's for sure !
  23. Surely they have representatives at every game in the form of the shadowman ?
  24. Everything is over complicated at Ewood compared to a lot of other Championship clubs not just the football or ownership/running structure. Take Saturday for example - Local derby, 3pm kick off no jerking around with kick off times, no blaming police. £24 standard match price no faffing with all ticket or cat A+ or whatever. Pay on the day available and a full end allocated. No fuss no messing just the way it should be and they are rewarded with nearly 20k, huge for them, massive in fact. That kind of approach at Ewood would probably see a crowd in excess of 22k . Something a bit more imaginative hopefully drawing in lapsed fans, part timers, neutrals and local kids might see 25k. Use the fixtures of interest not the run of the mill or dead rubbers etc.
  25. Listening to him live or watching Rovers lose again, hmmmm.... both bizarre versions of torture that thousands chose to put themselves through.
