I'm not for chasing him up LBR with a pitchfork i said a few weeks ago we'd probably have to bite the bullet this season but changes SHOULD be made in summer, whatever happens this season. However after seeing how it's going even after the improved first half of the Hudds game the same old things from him and his team surfaced in the 2nd. So the Brum match was the start of 3 game territory for me although i expected the bounce back of some sorts there but it was worse. Second of the 3 today but even a draw or win won't alter my view changes need making in summer, a whooping and well he's one left before his desk is cleared for me.

What it needs really is just something fresh, organised and with a bit of bullish ambition - nothing unrealistic just let's be the best we can possibly be with what we have. Right now the whole ambition seems to be lets plod on with what we have, keep everybody happy and comfortable and 'hope' we finish a place or two higher - that's it. Minimum risk minimum reward.

Since when is a club going to hand out free tickets for an away game they'll have to pay for never mind what the local police would think about it ? Whoppers ?

We spent ONE season in league 1 yes that's right ONE. Largely thanks to him we did but he was also captaining the already sinking ship that went down. Sick of hearing that nonsense now and if he wants to apply that logic then why aren't we now as good as Preston were last season ?

I'm liking the Hughes set up there. Pulis is a no from me though we aren't in crisis (yet) and i really couldn't stomach him or his football although he scare the life out of some of these easy going 'nice boys' we have. Don't think he'd get a good enough tune out of this squad to go anywhere though they can't handle Mowbrays version of pragmatism when he tries it never mind Pulis. I think it's tailor made for a Hughes type though if he could get in a few astute additions.

The money on him and Downings contract would have covered signing Bauer on a free and been a good investment. Also fits in with building a team from the back and giving us strength where we really needed it. Another major cluckup that one. The Rovers way is get your mates in and deal with your matey agents. Then we wonder why they can't put an actual balanced team together !

The Godlike Genius of Charlie Mulgrew
tomphil replied to blueboy3333's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
So many similarities to GBs last months in charge, change of style suppossed to be designed to be better on the eye and aiming for top 6 but proving anything but. Good young player sold out the blue on the eve of the season, struggling for goals yet defence making same old mistakes. Poor demeanor and silly comments grating fans. Favouritism on the pitch despite other options and obviously not working. Only difference Mowbray has his mates all there working for him and has a budget and been able to spend money Bowyer could only dream about. Therefore the similarities end. Not good enough ! -
The confidence and bullishness he had in summer all but disappeared by the start of the season. The keeper conundrum makes me a bit suspicious i'm amazed they ended up with Walton after some of the names being linked. Also the lines about selling the goalie to buy a striker followed by the Raya money still hasn't been spent. Gallagher and Walton presented like Brereton maybe whilst he was allowed to get his man in Downing and possibly Johnson ? I've long been of suspicion the transfer action here gets sliced up between a few people.

The thought he's had enough did cross my mind a while back.

Preston are a decent Championship team having a decent start but that's it, they are beatable and they have off days like anyone else. Mowbray is like a man approaching an alter with his head bowed and a lamb in his arms he's becoming the gift that keeps on giving.

The quote he's come out with well iv'e been thinking that all week but if i was manager it is not something i'd have come out with, not in those terms anyway. "Whatever happens on Saturday we'll go down fighting" type stuff needed really. With Mowbray it is always him 'asking' his team not telling them in no uncertain terms and i think that is the problem How about get out there and put a performance in for 95 mins the lot of you, you owe me and you owe the fans. Anything less and no f####g days off next week !! This fella so far this season has created problems for himself and the team yet constantly totally absolved himself of the blame. The more he changes things the more excuses he creates at the same time. I don't care what anyone says he really isn't as daft as he sounds he's a lot craftier than people chose to believe.
-
He wouldn't have kept that gig for so long if he wasn't part of the propaganda machine he's fooking painful for putting one sided spin on things. Time for a long overdue change there as well.

Well like Venkys themselves 'middleman' has been one constant throughout all the nonsense, odd signings and sales, managers etc etc. If ANYONE can truly answer questions for fans it's him but for some reason he continues to get a free pass while being fobbed off as merely a go between here and India. Bollocks he is.

Yes i think there was a tale floating around the order had come from somewhere to give him his job back... Just strikes me as a bit odd that whenever the deckchairs get shuffled or new ones brought in he survives yet the team is constantly poor to average as is the football. If he's highly rated there's been sod all evidence of it we played mostly bland stuff in league 1 we were just so much stronger squad and options wise than all others and of course had Dack, Graham and Mulgrew.

I wonder how and why David Lowe has survived the revolving door since being appointed in 2011. The amount of managers and coaches, directors and players who've passed through the doors since then. It's rather odd one coach has survived all that lot........ ?
-
Of course he is they even gave him a job title recently. What he actually does and what power or influence he has is open to debate.
-
Respectable enough.
-
A lot of managers hamstring themselves by bringing their mates in as no 2 s. Just because they are their mates and they trust them on a personal level rather than what they bring to the actual football table. Silly really you should surround yourself with the best people for the actual jobs i'm sure there's still even room for a mate as a cones and bibs man if you get yourself a really good couple of coaches.
-
Walton came via the same agent Gallagher did the one who's done constant business with Rovers this era. See what i keep saying about not thinking outside the box and dealing with the same old people whoever happens to be manager.........
-
Slow distribution under instruction maybe ? It'd fit in with everything else at the min. As for kicking iv'e yet to see a young keeper here who's been any good at that. It used to be a minimum requirement a basic fundamental along with catching and handling. This era it's all about quick reflexes, staying on your line and parrying shots with one hand hopefully straight to one of your own. Basics in keepers and centre halves are badly lacking in the drive to make it like a non contact sport.
-
Maybe that's why they didn't request Stevie boy on the last India trip ....
-
Why does anyone think any sort of vocal protest will make a difference right now ? It won't be loud enough to be heard where it matters as usual and they won't be made aware of it unless certain people want them made aware of it. That's highly unlikely unless the middleman has another of his mates mates he'd like to flag up with the promise of great things on no budget. The one thing it might do though is fire a rocket up Mowbray and half the team but people are expecting to lose on Sat so it'll mostly be another shoulder shrug.

The way Preston play is the way we should play it really and i'd also add on the Rothwell debate if King was here now he'd not get a look in either. Cautious style that includes the favs and as many rotations as possible to keep everyone happy is the Ewood way.
