  1. Some over egging how bad it is as well i think as it is far from a bad squad it's just bang on average overall, A few bright points, a few low points but most are bog standard. The key is getting the right blend, weeding of the real weaknesses, playing to the strengths and adding to it because all that can be done to this squad to get it capable of competing in the top 9. Mid table squad, mid table manager, middle of the road championship club costing minus c10 million overspend every season and a 7 miliion pound substitute at best when he's fit. That's what they've collectively created so far, problem is we aren't even midtable are we.......
  2. Can't be Tony's that too many players IN position !
  3. Beg the hierarchy to switch kick off times on behalf of his mates in blue.
  4. Well they were sniffing around him at about 10 mill and 30/40 k pwk so i'd have thought they might have got wind Gallagher would be available in summer so in typical fashion went for the cheaper fee option. Perhaps that swung them to pay him more. Getting bang for your big bucks is an alien concept at Ewood if it can be done cheaper via old boys network or long time 'friends'. As you say those two combined is two for the price of one in comparison with potential sell on profit. Assombalonga despite probably being better than both and just the type needed doesn't offer that so good ready made players are out the running it seems. In preference to investment types !! Gambles that cost a fortune anyway but if your'e trying to run an investment vehicle on a pitch as opposed to actually putting together a side to go for it that's what will happen i suppose.
  5. A lot of figures on there tie in with what's been banded about at times in the press, even the LT in Armstrongs case so it'll be near the mark. Gallagher though is surely based on his time at Saints but he won't be cheap nontheless and that is a fact. If they are paying Johnson and Downing those wages though whoever signed that off should be sacked on the spot !
  6. As said above not long ago they had whole tiers shut like us and at the end of the day it's a one club City of some 700k so it really is no big deal. Agree on the away support though.
  7. Knowing our lot they've probably con-inged into giving Gallagher a pay RISE to lure him here from Saints.
  8. When you look at this seasons signings of Gally, Downing, Johnson there is over 4 million annually there in wages alone. Can't see that being right but you never know and if so crazy crazy stuff going on again. Then you look at the defence and keeper and lack of proper investment there it is no wonder he's getting question for his transfers now. Flabbergasted to be honest and a little bit concerned what the real motives are here.
  9. Interesting if correct and i said from the min they declared their interest that Downing would be on big money and that should go towards a defender. He's turned out ok so far but i still maintain that money is down the pan it would have gone a long way towards Bauer or similar. Jobs for the boys.
  10. His ultimate undoing if there is one will centre around his inability or more like his over loyalty in regards to getting in some better centre defenders and forming them into a solid functional unit. That goes hand in hand with his constant chopping and changing that goes against creating any kind of consistency across the team. He's had time enough and backing enough for both nobody expects it to be perfect but it's the same carry on almost to when he came in and we got relegated. Transfers are always a lottery but Brereton aside which i think we all know is a seperate issue it's the ones he hasn't got in rather than the ones he has that's the real problem.
  11. They'll never ever discount the Preston game to the tune of a tenner they don't want the hassle. I don't see why they couldn't come up with some initiative to get a few more home fans on though it's the kind of game that would drag a few back. They'll prefer to keep the game cat A and the gate around 20k knowing they'll sell out this season it's just too easy an opportunity to fleece away fans and home hardcore again. The acid test will be the kick off time.
  12. If half of what he allegedly did is true it's no wonder he went hiding as far away as he could. Hopefully something will catch up with him one day, i notice he hasn't had his mates in the media big him up for a while. Apart from that tit on Talkcrap of course.
  13. Not been for about 6 years due to the sheer arrogance of their pricing, lost count of the times iv'e been there before that. Must admit Saturday looked tempting more for the day out than anything else but no chance at those prices, there's a principal involved and i'm sticking to it even if we top the league. You could probably double than number at even normal championship style prices but they are another who seem to prefer blocks of empties and closed tiers. Bizarre when you think that place would be almost full every week at more affordable prices.
  14. 700 sold, massive credit due again.
  15. Ha ha if anyone talks them into coming again it certainly won't be at that time of year ! An end of season dead rubber probably but if it did snow in April/May and they got belted again it's obviously global warming to blame nothing else ?
  16. Well i go back to Saxton but can't remember much about his tactics and selection policy and wasn't really bothered at that age. From then to now though in my humble opinion TM is the most frustrating manager we've ever had here. Not the worst by a long chalk and at one point looked like he could be shaping up into a top 5 Rovers gaffer in that time but has levelled out and is in real danger of dropping down the rankings for me. Yes it takes time but some of his policies are glaringly contributing to a lack of consistency and strength in key areas. He has the experience and he's had the backing so his side should be tenth place and above capable.
  17. Wonder if one of their friends is booking that fleet of Bentleys again ?
  18. I wish he'd come back the Aussies understand football.
  19. With tantric in charge of that one i'm sure many wheels were greased once he'd sweet talked Barry and his shonky friends into it.
  20. Leeds 3 Rovers 2 1 nil up, 2 - 1 down, 3 -1 down then the brave rally at the end nearly pulling it back.
  21. Dan Dan the hedge fund man ? I thought he went and got involved in a club in another country ? He just looked like a front man for something else to me.
  22. He was clearly going to bring Evans on to protect the point and to be fair all things considered i'm not surprised given the form lately. Trouble is Evans has never really proved great in those circumstances so it's as big a risk as just leaving things alone imo but it's all a lottery when you are as porous as us. For balance reading back on twitter Weds fans were going ape that they'd scored then tried to sit back straight away.
  23. Exactly, Jack wasn't daft he wasn't going to put his trust fund or his family's futures in jeopardy. What he had in place was to protect all his and their interests. He was an unbelievable business man always ahead of the game and having Rovers in there with the annual donation was probably a great tool to offset some profits etc. Nobody saw the crash coming but then it was down to those steering the ship to guide it through the choppy waters that come along now and again in the economic cycle. Jacks businesses will have seen their way through many a recession and stock market crisis etc. They'd drawn their horns in before all that anyway in terms of the club but even if they had to for a while so be it the new tv deals where around the corner. Club had a few assets to sell and so did the Trust so everything would have been fine for a while longer. In reallity what you probably had was a very large expanding expensive to keep family needing funding and a lot maybe wanting different shares of the pot. As well as other shareholders viewing other businesses in the portfolio as more important than the club. It wasn't really costing them anything at that point but it was an asset they could draw a huge pot of cash in from if they could wangle out the legalities and get shut !
  24. That's probably because there wasn't really any i'm sure Vinjay will confirm it's difficult to find info about what goes on in Jersey. There was also a hearing before the sale to Venkys which would probably make interesting reading.
