  1. Sent you a PM now Roverroll. At the moment everything is fine. I ditched the cruddy four-plug extension lead and have put the computer on the dining room table, instead of on a desk in the bedroom. Strangely enough this seems to have solved the problem. Not counting my chickens just yet though....
  2. A few quick questions: 1) Can I pay for my Young Adult ticket my monthly direct debit? 2) When is the deadline for buying season tickets? Cheers.
  3. Well thanks a lot guys. I took it to a different shop this time and he said he would have a look at it. I went back three days later and he said that the guy who deals with computers has been away so I took it home. Anyway, I set the computer up in a different location and without using any extension leads or anything (I thought it may be a power problem some how). Low and behold everything started working fine! I couldn't believe it and I had a three hour FM session the other night without a single problem. Yesterday morning I was playing it and it froze on me after an hour or so, but I thought it might be a one off. At tea time I went back on and it did the same but only after quite a while on the game. Hmmmmm..........
  4. I was visiting one of my mates the other day at Cardiff Uni, and we went into a small scruffy pub in town only to find Andy 'The Viking' Fordham sat at the bar on his own supping a pint of lemonade! Apparently before he plays he has upto 15 pints of lager to settle his nerves. He is absolutely MASSIVE in real life and his arms are thicker than my thighs. A living legend.
  5. Does anybody have an idea what sort of temperature my computer should be running at? I have a display on the front of the tower, and I've noticed it is steadily rising whilst in use. Shouldn't the fan prevent this from happening???
  6. Right Flopsy, but why would my problem only happen on certain appications if was a case of dust/defrag/virus etc? It happens EVERY time on Football Manager but very rarely anywhere else.
  7. Surely this is not on? I personally don't think the guy in the hard hat would have a leg to stand on in a court of law.
  8. Yes. Ron said, "that's what's known in some schools as a big lazy n***er". It's hardly comparing someone to a monkey in a non-racist way is it? Some people on here need to get a life, stop do-gooding and start thinking.
  9. Most of the time it just totally freezes - as in the whole system. The only thing I can do is reset the computer. However, occasionally I get the Blue Screen Of Death and again the only thing I can do is reset. When I am up and running again I get an error message saying, "Your system has recovered from a serious problem" or something like that. BIDDY - Yes the PC does stop on the Blue Screen and yes there is an error code. I noted it down a while a go and tried to do a bit of research on it, but the best advice I could find was that it was a memory-related problem. I told this to the computer shop guy and he tested the memory himself. Alas he said everything was fine on that front. Do you think my best option is to try a different computer repair shop, or just give up??? I'm afraid I lost you when you mentioned the word 'extract'.
  10. I'm on XP. Blue screen of death? That doesn't sound very healthy at all! I've considered purchasing a new computer, but I'm rather skint and wondered if it was worth while/possible to repair my current computer. Can you recommend any computer deals at the cheaper end of the market?
  11. Right my basic problem is that my computer is continually crashing on certain programmes. It all started about 12 months ago when I was happily playing Footie Manager when my computer suddenly froze. From then on, every time I played the game it froze. I then started getting these 'blue-screens' which told me basically that my computer was knackered and to contact my system administator! I was still able to use the Internet for as long as I wanted and it never froze on me - just on Footie Manager. I don't use the computer for much. Footie Manager, Internet, word-processing and a couple of spreadsheets - that's about it. However, the missus is learning to drive and she had one of those theory test DVDs but it started crashing on that as well. In addition, whenever I tried to play a music CD or run a spyware scan etc it froze again. The Internet was still fine. Anyway, I took it to the local computer shop and the guy had it three times back and forward. The first time he did a full computer service which he said didn't show up a single problem. The second time he tried a new graphics card to see if that worked. It didn't. The final time he tried a better graphics card but that didn't work either, at which point he told me that he didn't know what was wrong and we agreed to call it a draw. Very frustrated now. The computer isn't that old either maybe 18 months or so. Every time I try to play my beloved Footie Manager is just crashes on me about two minutes into the game. The blue-screen is very rare but has happened about 8/9 times now. Please, please, can anybody out there help me?
  12. Ryan Nelsen has always struck me as more of a 'natural' captain. He's in the same sort of physical mould as Colin Hendry, and seems a very professional person both on and off the field as well. I think we should banish Todd to the reserves (b*stards) for six months. Again.
  13. I'm telling you the end of season league table will look like this: 4. Arsenal 65 5. Rovers 65 6. Spurs 62 Arsenal qualify for Champions League on goal difference.
  14. Bothroyd looks like he has a bit of quality actually. They reckon he could stake a claim to Charlton's second and has shown some lovely stuff. If only we had kept him and not bought Bellamy.
  15. I know I know. It was meant to be a rhetorical question which would promote days of heated debate. Again! Still don't think we'll sell 31k though - I think it's on Sky.
  16. 26000? That can't be right. Have we given them the whole of the Darwen End......?
  17. I'm not sure there are too many of those nowadays.
  18. Well I don't know there can still be issues that affect even the hardcore such as price, televised matches and odd kick-off times. Maybe we just have different definitions of hardcore that's all.
  19. Simon Jordan can come out with legendary stuff. By all accounts I believe he is quite fond of our club, and I must say the feeling is mutual. P.S. Come on Birmingham - beat the Wankies then get the hell out of our league!!!
  20. That's harsh and simply isn't true. Maybe we don't actually have that many fans? Shock horror - for the past couple of years we have averaged between 18k and 23k at a guess. Maybe that suggests that this is what we can expect at best? OK, so we might not have many fans, but I'll tell you this - I reckon if we were at the bottom of the league our crowds wouldn't be much different. Give or take a couple of thousand we can confidently say that our 'hardcore' can be estimated at around the 22k mark. Although it may be to the detriment of the club and it's finances, in some respects I find it refreshing that we are not packing our stadium with 'hangers-on' or people simply jumping on the bandwagon. People need to stop comparing us with the likes of Everton, Middlesbrough, Sunderland etc in terms of fan-base. We are a small-town club with a loyal set of hardcore fans that usually turn up no matter who we are playing and where we are in the league. When we were in the First Division in 2000 we averaged around the 18k mark and by the looks of it things havent much changed. Compare this to the likes of Wigan and Charlton and we can safely say that our fans aren't just 'in for the ride'. Yes our crowds are small for the Premiership, but at a guess I'd say we have the smallest catchment area for fans in the Premiership and that counts for a lot. In a period where clubs such as Middlesbrough, Sunderland and Aston Villa have seen their attendances dwindle, I think ours has been relatively steady.
  21. Oh baby I could talk about that song all day! Quite clearly one of my favourite songs ever.
  22. RIML - I think the reason people aren't coming to Ewood anymore is because people won't miss the action if they don't turn up! If the game isn't on Sky, you can watch it in a local pub with a dodgy satelite. If you miss that you can watch that Football First thing on Sky at eight o'clock. And if you miss that, at least you can see some of the action on Match Of The Day. And you can even miss Match Of The Day nowadays, because you'll still see the goals on MOTD2 on a Sunday night! Not to mention the highlights on RoversWorld!!!! No longer do we have to fit going to the match into our busy lives, because we can always catch up with the action at a later date. And it's sad. Very, very sad. I'm not going to the match tonight against Wigan because I play for a pool team on a Monday night - but I know it'll be on in the pub anyway. If Sky didn't exist, I probably would have gone on Ewood tonight with it being cheaper tickets and all.....
  23. Oh yeah I forgot we are the best fans in the world.
