  1. Hope your right Gav. Missed the last 2 'meetings' as I was away , don't want to miss this if I can help it
  2. Gone for Shearer in this one, it's looking close though
  3. Headline on BBC sport - Rovers set to sign Savage. Not 100% confirmed but looks as good as Cheers Jobo, too quick for me, and you've included a link..........TAXI for me
  4. Blackburn to Wrexham = 1hr 23mins Birmingham to Wrexham = 1hr 42mins (from AA website route plan) And it doesn't take into account the traffic around Brum
  5. $10mil, is that all, with all the money he's got I agree Bellamy, and also Dwight Yorke who called on every Premiership footballer to donate a weeks wage. I did read somewhere that Cliff Richard and Boy George are planning a record and hope to raise £2mil from the sales. It also said that Ronan Keating may take part if a studio can be found near to his holiday home in Switzerland. Surely he can take half a day from his holiday to fly to a studio to record? Then again it would probably sell more without him I have gathered some clothes which could be put to much better use by people who really need them, and donated a few pounds, which I intend to increase. I think it is fantastic that when something like this happens everyone pulls together, although I'd obviously rather not have to find out. But I don't agree with this I donated X amount, everyone else should as well. One person may donate £5000 but be a multi millionaire, where as someone donates £10 but struggles on a small wage or pension, or they may have given hours of their time to help in Oxfam shops etc. I agree with Flopsy, how many troops etc has the UK and American sent over, aid doesn't just have to be about money.
  6. Idiots!!!! Didn't want to start a new thread for this, and don't want to start the Yorke thing up again, but this amused me, what a bunch of prize A idiots!!!
  7. Whats the 'spurs way'? Talking about how your the best team ever and will win everthing in sight, before finishing just below midtable and winning sod all Good post Brian, I couldn't have put in better myself 2-1 to Rovers Dickov & Emerton Defoe for them.
  8. Or a worthington cup with Duff! Im sorry but he wasnt in the team, playing excellent, at rovers long enough to say he was the best left winger. I don't think he is saying he wasn't in the Cup winning team, but he didn't feature in the Rovers team for a substantial period to be classed as a 'great'. Then again, after reading some of Hughesy's other posts, I could be wrong
  9. Listening to the Beach Boys at the moment. Taped the Brian Wilson, Smile documentary last night. So that should be some good weekend viewing
  10. Duff for me. The lad had the lot. Skill, workrate, crossing and could finish. Wilcox is one of my all time favourite Rovers players and Sellers is and always will be a legend, but Duff was something special. Glad to see its neck and neck in the poll
  11. Life imprisonment is fine in principal. But after reading the paper yesterday and seeing three or four stories were the criminals should get life, I wonder where we are going to keep them all
  12. At last somebody else with their feet on the ground Excellent RR and my feelings entirely. Cheers Capt, at least someone can see where i'm coming from MikeyLiu, I see your point, but you don't seem to see mine. I agree that ethnic minority person is guaranteed to face RACIAL discrimination more than a white person, does that make one worse than the other? IMO You seem to think it does............................... Anyway, i can't really be bothered any more, i make the point that racism needs dealing with from both sides and I seem IMO to get branded a racist Back to more important issues, like football
  13. Jesus, for the last time! how are you being hard done by? has Christmas being ruined for you now that you don't get your cards from the Red Cross anymore? Have you ever had to experience or had anything comparable to a crowd, whilst standing behind a group of asians in the same england shirt as their own, bellow at the top of their voices "I'd rather be paki than a turk" ? Been on the recieving end of a beating because of where your from by somebody who harbours the same opinions and bitterness like what I'm reading now? "oh but they get this, get housed there, special treatment.." Just grow up and make your own way in the world without bleating on about how the state won't hold your hand anymore, you are not oppressed, they are. And if you're voting for the BNP, than you're not a tolerant upstanding person. Good reply to my post Morph, I can see your points, even though I don't agree. As for my reply to the quote above........................ Where did I say Christmas was being ruined for me? Unfortunately I've had my time enjoying visiting Santa, singing carols as a kid. My point is I don't want my kids and future generations to miss out on the things I got so much pleasure out of as a Child. Like Christmas. I work with a Muslim at work and she was saying she loved to sing hymns at school but they have stopped that as her children's school and she feels it is a shame. I saw an Asian bloke with his small child in Accrington looking at the Christmas decorations, and his Child loved them. Why can't everyone enjoy Christmas, that is my point. Why do we need to ban things which no one finds offensive. As for being on the receiving end of racism, yes I have. My mate had his bike stolen from under his nose by a couple of Asians, thankfully I had my bike and managed to follow them back to his house. My mate got his bike back but got a beating for his troubles. The lad said 'if you go to the police, I'll just tell them you called me black X Y and Z and you'll get into trouble' Unfortunately he probably had a point. I could give you a few more examples, but I can't be bothered as you will probably just make sweeping accusations again without reading my post I have never voted BNP, but agree with Phil Blue about why some people might. As for bleating about how the state won't hold my hand, i do OK without any help from the state. However, what about all the pensioners being thrown out of their homes due to governement cut backs, what about the millions waiting for NHS treatment, some of whom wait that long they can not be cured when they finally get seen. They could do with help from the state.
  14. Why if AESF, is wrong and whites are not now seen as the 'oppressed' race in this country did so many normally tolerant, upstanding members of the community vote for the BNP? Why do people accept that ethnic minorities were/ are repressed but any notion of whites being hard done by is laughed at and seen as racism??? The police, the government, schools infact anyone in the public eye are scared to death of not being PC. They bring in ridiculous acts like banning Christmas cards (Red Cross), and Christmas Carols in schools as they don't want to offend any Minority races, yet this is the main reason for the growing ill feeling towards Asians. If we are going to eradicate racism, we need the same rules on all sides. We will get nowhere if the police force employed only whites on the colour of there skin, however they are saying if two candidates where equal in all aspects but one was white and one was black they should employ the black candidate. We need to get rid of the PC brigade and all be allowed to celebrate our own festivals and live our lives as we want
  15. It used to be called 'Whiteburn' but was changed so not to cause offence
  16. Maybe it's because, we all know deep down Yorke was arguably the most talented player in our squad and had he put in even 75% effort would have been one hell of a player for us. Kevin Davies on the other hand is just a big fat waste of space!!!
  17. Are you refering to last Sunday here Tris, or Yorke's time at Ewood
  18. I can't believe all the hysteria over this. Granted it happened only a few days after the Spain v England match which hasn't helped the situation. But IMO Sullivan has a point. I could name thousands of worse things to happen to me than being racially abused, I'm not saying it's OK because of that, but headline news FFS. People are being raped, murdered, Kids abused and that gets ignored because of some drunken idiot and a footballer who doesn't have the sense to warm up away from the oppositions sense, which IMO is common sense. Although Racism has no place in football, I think there is a massive difference between what happened in Spain and Ewood. The abuse in Spain was aimed at players specifically because they were black, whereas Yorke was abused because of his lazy attitude whilst at Rovers which unfortunately turned into alleged monkey actions. What would have happened if a black supporter had called Matt Jansen a 'white Ba***rd', would this be headline news. What about the Cardiff & Swansea supporters calling the English. Is this not racism???? Why is one worse than the other?????
  19. What happens when the daughter asks what has happened to her grandad? "Don't worry I have killed him just for you" That would make everything ok! I have moved away from Blackburn but when I read the neanderthal like drivel written on here on topics such as race and crime, it makes me glad I have moved away. As opposed the alternative??? 'Oh, don't worry love. Your Grandad Sexually abused you and you may never get over it, but he is your Grandad so we'll let it go by this once'
  20. See that just proves he is not full of his faculties. No sane person would say Blackburn was full of talent!!!!
  21. I remember watching a program a couple of years ago and there was one bloke who was a paedophile who I actually felt a little sorry for . He was due to be released and begged with the prison the authorities and anyone who'd listen not to release him as he hated what he was but said he couldn't help it and would abuse again. He said it wasn't a illness but was like men liking women and visa versa. Granted most men and women don't go and rape anyone they set there sights on as these people do. My point is why are we realising people who are either asking not to be realised as this bloke was or bragging about how they will kill there next victim and the man in Blackburn has been. I really agree with the quote on Americans post though, we let criminals of any kind walk all over and abuse the system whilst the families get left to pick up the pieces with very little support.
  22. Got tickets for Oasis 3rd July at City of Manchester Stadium. Happy days
