  1. Got The Frames - Set List a few weeks ago and that is pretty good. Also been listening to a few 'oldies' - Public Image Ltd - Greatest Hits....................so far Marion - This World and Body Both classic albums As for Madonna I'd put her in the 3 pint category. Oh sod it I'll save the pints until after
  2. Tough one between Gennoe, Flowers and Feidel. John Filan in his first season was also fantastic. I'd have to go for Flower though. The performance against Newcastle in the 1-0 win was fantastic, but it was the bottle speech afterwards which swings it for me When it mattered he never let anyone down. And he helped us win the Premiership
  3. 3-1 to Rovers Stead, Emerton and Yorke for us Kanu for them
  4. Nothing like a bit of optimism at the start of the season is there? I don't think we have the fire power to succeed at this level. So there you go, I'll be going into the west brom game expecting nothing out of it. I'll be pleasantly surprised if we win it. Could be worse - we could have been bottom!! 1. Man U 2. Chelsea 3. Arsenal 4. Liverpool 5. Aston Villa 6. Newcastle 7. Charlton 8. Rovers (injury free) 9. Brum 10. Spurs 11. Fulham 12. Bolton 13. Man City 14. 'Boro / (Rovers with injuries) 15. Portsmouth 16. Songs

Fair enough Hughesy, I don't want Ewood to be like a morgue either. We just (and I am assuming, as they ere deleted before I looked at this thread) don't need songs about Munich. My mates Granddad was killed in the disaster and it really upsets him when he hears people singing and laughing about Munich. Like the Amo song though
  6. friedel Neil Amorouso Moore Nissa Gray gresko matteo Ferguson De Pedro Dickov Defensive problems solved
  7. Kevin Davies Le Saux Bl.......................oh sorry it says Cult 3. Atkins - So many lost balls sent over the BBurn end 2. Hendry - Colin show us yer arse................ 1. Garner - No explanation needed
  8. So what does everyone do, post that they have contributed Great post be FLB, that is so true. Right i'm off to decide if i should contribute, then if i decide to i'm going to put a five page add in the Papers to tell the world!!!
  9. For the uneducated among us............ Maybe it should be in the posting guidelines that all new members have to read the above book I'm sure it's one of Lynn Trusse favourites, i'm currently reading Freaky Dancin' : Me and the Mondays by Bez. It's entertaining and pretty funny in places although he could have done with a copy of eats, shoots and leaves before writing it!!
  10. Good point raised. I don’t agree with supporters who sing songs about that kind of nature what so ever. Even as much as I dislike United I wouldn’t go to that resort to chant to them about the Munich Air Disaster. If anybody on here does sing/chant about the Air Disaster then I advice those to read, The Day a Team Died, by Frank Taylor OBE.The scenes a Hillsborough happened when I was at a very young age, but what I will always remember is the shock on the face of my dad from when he first heard it. Rooney shouldn’t be to blame for this, The Sun have used him appallingly. An own goal? Rooney caught in crossfire between 'The Sun' and an unforgiving city Good point, my mates Grandad was part of the back room staff at Man U and died in the Munich disaster. And everytime someone shouts or sings about Munich it really hurts him. It's not until you see or hear of the effect of things things it really hits home how bad it was. LDRover I can only imagine how your family must of felt, and imagining it is bad enough, and you were the luck ones. As Ricky has already pointed out, ir really baffles me is that Man U supporters sing about the Leeds fans being killed in Turkey, Leeds and Liverpool both sing about Munich yet all 3 clubs know the suffering events like this cause
  11. Good posts Tris and Colin. I can not believe a post like this has been turned into a slanging match between which is best Blackburn or Liverpool. As for the 'get over it' comments. This isn't about someone losing a gold fish, its 96 lifes that have been lost and as has already been mentioned if it happended to any Rovers fans it would take more than 15 years for us to forget. I remember Chubby Brown doing a gig in Bradford a couple of years ago, and his first line was ' have I missed the BBQ' he was lucky to get out alive and will never work in Bradford again - They will never forget. I imagine what Skemlad and others like him want to achieve is that all the papers know that they can not write what they want about Football Supporters or people in general, and basically disrespect the dead and their relatives and Friends. News papers (and the media in general) get away with printing rubbish, look at the pictures in the Mirror during the Iraq war, and as has been mentioned the Foe pictures, and i think we should applaud people who stand up to them I think time should heal and things should be left in the past but I have never had to open a paper to find comments like that written about my Friends and family.
  12. Those bloody English eh, always looking for a scapegoat. Why can't we be like the rest of the world and just accept defeat with out looking for someone else to blame Scotland - Vogts - not Scottish so doesn't have the passion thats why they didn't qualify (add any major tournament you wish here!!), Kenny Dalglish for not coming out of retirement when he is still the best player Scotland have (Excluding Ferguson).......................................... Wales - Ryan Giggs for only being welsh when a big game comes along, Russians for taking illegal substances......................... Italy - The media and every manager they have ever had, the shoes and socks they are wearing each other, mafia, Sweden & Denmark............i could go on but this would turn into the longest post ever looking at the Italians reasons for failing!!! Republic of Ireland - Roy keane or Mick (Depending on which way you looked at it). Holland - Anyone and Everyone. So it seems the English are't the only ones to look elsewhere when they fail
  13. It's in the sun today that a Swiss DJ has given out the Sun's e-mail and phone number and they have been bombarded with calls from Swiss people. The Sun in retaliation has given the DJ's mobile number and e-mail address. The Sun thinks this is funny, it was slightly amusing the first day but now the numptys have got involved the Sun should really quit whilst it's a long way behind. As for the idiots in Greece, i don't think they should call them 'Fans' The Link
  14. If we are being honest though the ref was poor through out the game. I remeber when he had just booked Gerrard i think, one of the Portugal players committed an almost identical foul and didn't get booked. Beckham went up and asked him why he hadn't been booked when Gerrard was.
  15. Fair enough mate. It would be a dull world if we all agreed
  16. You can't compare the fees for Gerrard and Duff. Duff had a clause of £17mil in his contract and no club was going to pay more than that for him. If Gerrard had a £10mil clause in his contract that how much he'd go for course you can, Blackburn valued Duff at 17 million when the contract was made, likely expecting nobody could match it, it was quite high really, Liverpool value Gerrard 25-30odd million. Gerrard would "not" have a 10 million clause because he is worth more then 10 million, Gerrard would also "not" have a 17 million clause because he is in Liverpool's opinion worth more then 17 million. That's a pointless arguement. Very simple when you think about it. Blackburn never expected anyone to be able to afford / pay that much for Duff. Abramarich had never even been heard of in the footballing world. If he had Duff's clause would probably have been higher, just like Gerrard and Rooneys price tags. As for Gerrard being worth more than £10 mil, the Gerrard in Euro 2004 was certainly not worth anywhere near £10mil!!!!! And it can't be that pointless if you have bothered to respond
  17. You can't compare the fees for Gerrard and Duff. Duff had a clause of £17mil in his contract and no club was going to pay more than that for him. If Gerrard had a £10mil clause in his contract that how much he'd go for
  18. Those people are sadly misguided IMO. What state would the club be in if everyone followed that example? What’s the point? Live Revidge said the club would be in a poor state if that did happen. Does that mean they’ll go every single away game? Probably not. I love going to away games because there’s a different atmosphere created, but I also like going to the home games because you see the same old faces every week. If they’re not renewing but want to go away games they won’t have priority in getting away tickets. I know more likely than not we won’t sell out, but what’s the point in fans doing that? Maybe they are misgiuded. I'm not saying its right or wrong its just another reason why some fans are not renewing. I don't know whether work commitments played a part as well as games being switched to sundays and midweek for sky. People only have so much money and if they want to get to away games as well as home matches thats fair enough. I can understand why they haven't renewed
  19. I think the main reason our ST sales are poor is the fact you can go to the ground on match days and buy one. Also our home form has not been great as has the atmosphere, so i would rather go to away games. Better atmosphere, better supporters and usually better performances and results. I know a few ST holders who have not renewed so they could go to less home games and afford to go to more away games.
  20. What?! Some people are just so odd! I don't think it's particuarly odd that I care more about Rovers than I do for England. I spend god knows how much on a season ticket and travel and the rest of it watching Rovers. All I do is watch England from my armchair, so I am not going to pretend to be Englands biggest supporter. Yes I am English and proud, but it's club over country every time for me. Call me odd, but that's just my opinion. I can see where you are coming from, but to swap England going out last night for a point at Highbury??? Ok if you would have swapped it for a FA Cup win or winning the league fair enough. But a point at Highbury
  21. The Ref was very poor all night, not just for the disallowed goal. Yes we were poor, but when Arsenal or Man U play badly and get a result, people say thats the sign of a good team, getting results when playing badly. Last night we played badly and IMO Portugal played well, yet we still got a draw and should have won if the goal had stood. We played badly last night and didn't lose (OK we still went out), but surely that gives us some hope for the future.
  22. I would rather have watched the Sweden v Denmark match, but it was on ITV so what did we expect. If England had gone out in the same circumstances i'm sure there would be a few people who would claim it was a fix, but the fact of the matter is when you are on top in football you need to score goals, Italy didn't do that and that is why they are out. I am glad Italy are out as i though Sweden and Denmark have played some very good attacking football and they didn't moan about everything from conspiracy theories to their socks unlike our Pasta loving friends And thank God the England game will be on BBC
