Why not wait for them to think it up themselves! Rovers have a commercial dept headed up by an ex-player who draws the raffle and lives on easy street. Do their work for em and they'll be there forever. Surely given the decline in attendance the entire commercial dept should be carrying the can? Change em/ replace em or whatever but it is their responsibility not mine. -

Yet 30% of fans on the attendance poll site over priced tickets as the main reason for crowd numbers falling. Yet again that just shows what blolox the poll is! -

The ref (though too severe in terms of yellow cards brandished) was only responding to signals from his linesman re the offside decisions. -

My you are well connected. Come around to your house for tea and scones often does he Jim? Or did he come to you for advice on team selection for the mags game? If so that explains a lot.......... But I agree with the sentiments about live tele........ they've 'unpopularised' golf when that sport sold it's soul to Sky over a decade ago, currently it's footballs turn and next year cricket will be trashed too. Is it need or is it greed Jim? -

Wouldn't it be a goal bound effort that would go in the net but for intervention by an opposing player. Reids shot for example flew over the bar and had me screaming in frustration at his profligacy until Riley's award of a corner showed that it had been deflected. S'not too hard to understand is it Paul? -

As I said before (in particular regard to Chelsea away) simply dont travel away to those grounds then. Sure success was tilted to the monied clubs anyway which was anti fairplay and against the true principles of sport, but Abromovich and Kenyon have made the Prem a farce. A poor away following at Chelsea will show us up as a small club in decline and open to ridicule and criticism whereas NO AWAY following at all will show us to be a small club with strong and unified support and earn us respect. We would be famous for sticking up for ordinary football fans everywhere! And if we could manage it I've a feeling that other clubs supporters would organise similar. Prob too late now but a similar action at OT by ourselves and other clubs would stick 2 fingers up the noses of the Glazers and their like too. Just what is there to lose? -

Rushden population 26000 and Irthlingborough 7000! A combined population of 33000........ roughly equal to Accy's! 'Many fans' indeed! I know Wellingborough is close by but those two towns taken in isolation hardly have enough supporters to make a do in the conference let alone the professional ranks. -

Tell you what and you two will have to agree with this. What about a sponsor a kid for a fiver? Just like people adopting animals at the zoo? Rather than pass the buck Stu why not get the club to start a scheme for supporters to go halves with the club by chucking a fiver in every fortnight to buy an empty seat for a kid who couldn't go otherwise? To give you something extra to look forward to the seat number that you possess would be put in a hat and a draw made every week with the prize of watching a match from the directors box or an away trip for two on the players coach etc . You'd never miss it, disadvantaged kids would be overjoyed, the club would actually make money and add new supporters. Can I put your name down Stu? Move over Beamo........... it's time for some fresh ideas. -

You are wrong there Rev. The following effort by cletus wins hands down......... Cletus you make a very valid point about TV saturation and then fcku it all up with your last sentence which simply seems to have been some sort of afterthought / parting shot! Totally illogical. You say your tribe would have gone if it hadn't been on the telly then you say the reason is because the prices are too high. Make your mind up. -

The enemy within are the apathetic ones Simon, not shaddy or I. They are the ones who cannot even be arsed enough to support the club never mind suggest solutions to our problems Simon. -

What are you two on about? The mags defence couldn't even manage to clear the ball on occasions. On MoTD after the spurs game Hanson whilst criticising our discipline was eulogising about our passing game ffs! Sunday was simply a bad day at the office imo compounded by Hughes playing Bellamy as a target man and switching Reid to the wing to make room for Bentley. I do admit though that we are so like Jeckyl and Hyde at the moment that I have no idea whether there each match will reult in a good performance or a godawful one. -
Yes but facism is almost always (but not necessarily so) connected with extreme right wing politics, yet the most obvious case of any country enforcing a government controlled birth rate is the communist / Maoist Peoples Republic of China.

We were spoilt into this collective state of deep ingratitude by the glory days. Due to our finances we are now simply the milleniums answer to the Soton or Coventry of the eighties and nineties. So dont be too disgruntled cos I bet they'd swop with us. Not to mention LUFC, Sheff Wed, Forest, Leicester etc etc! God only knows how Oldham and Swindon feel........ but we might find out! Don't worry though you kids out there if we do succumb to the forces of gravity......... it'll be a character building experience for you and give you an advantage in later life thats perrenially denied to the likes of MU and Arsenal supporters. -

Thank ferk you lot weren't around in 14-18 or 39-45.......... we'd all be speaking german now! I'm concerned about our lack of goals but imo Kuqi playing target man with either Dickov and Bellamy playing off him should have enough goals in them to guarantee Prem footy next year. If our wide men are not providing enough service then we'll have to drop one and play more direct football wont we? If the worst happens and we do get relegated then we'll simply cease to defy gravity and be back where we belong given the size of our town and the level and potential of our support. The amount of folk whingeing on here who declare their intention to stay away and watch from some pub bar will simply speed up the process. The marvellous Jack Walker years will be over, At least I'll die thankfull that I was lucky enough to have witnessed them, but as I've said before this apathy and bitterness is nothing new it is simply history repeating itself. The decline of support now and the attitude of the supporters however irrational is so reminiscent of the decline in the in the 60's that almost lead to the demise of the club. I just hope some kid standing on the Blackurn end with the bitter sting of tears in his eyes after seeing his hero's humbled by the Mags manages to build a steel empire. -
I'm confused. Why is the notion of restricting population facist?

Thats not a revelation Philip it was obvious that MH was trying to utilise Bellamy's pace with Bentleys vision. Unfortunately the new Bergkamp didn't turn up to provide our 'Henry' with any service. Bentley was obviously aware of the plan and imo trying to play to much to instruction because he treat the ball like a hot potato.....he couldn't get rid of it quick enough on occasion. He was also given too long on the pitch, HT was enough to see that he was ineffective in that role. -

Thats more worrying than empty seats for the 'fat controllers' of footy. Murdoch will be pacing around his cage waiting for contract time. Whilst we are on about it I'm even noticing desperation in the pundits in trying to sound authorative, innovative and enthusiastic. Le saux's assessment was nonsensical and largely irrelevent to the match, whilst Hansen is simply the worst at the moment. For such a supposed big shot expert analyst he adds sod all that we have not heard before and nowadays seems to frequently get it wrong. imo he's just going through the motions. -

Sorry........... I've just watched City v Bolton! A 93rd min pen for an average Bolton whilst City had 5 cracking efforts rattling the woodwork. Robbery without violence! Stuart Pierce must have felt like he'd been tied to a tree and shot! -

Cos it was in the box and would have been a penalty. Though it was far 'sturdier' than the Neil incident Riley bottled it. -

Hughes cocked up today big time. I thought playing players out of position was a Souey speciality. 1. Bellamy is not a back to goal player, he needs to feed off a proper centre forward like Hartson or Shearer. He will not suit a 4-5-1 formation. Therefore given our current staff he should play link between midield and Kuqi. 2. Reid is useless on the right wing. 3. Bentley cocked the lot up. Many on here viewed him as a saviour after the Bolton game but I've reserved judgement on him. 15 mins is not enough to provide an accurate assessment. From what I saw today he needs to compete with Emerton for the right side place..... and that only. Today we huffed and puffed but provided no consistent threat, and imo that was all that was needed to see the Mags cave in. Riley spewed it for us by giving that free kick the wrong way, after that we were chasing the game. Not our day as they say. The Mags must feel that they are the luckiest team in the country. -
