  1. Would you care for the job of selling full priced season tickets next summer as well Aggy? Cos I wouldn't.
  2. Bothroyd was all that and much more of a talent too, but what is it about ex-Arsenal prodigies? Are they simply stupid enough to believe their own (agent based) publicity? The next Bergkamp ffs?!? Do me a favour. As for playing him with the Axe ahead of Savage........ not a chance...... not unless we are drawn against part timers in the FA cup that is.
  3. Most interesting fact on there is that Sky viewers are down a massive 11% year on year! Now that puts a completely different perspective on the poll at the top of this topic. 4 of the points are completely wiped out. I suggest boredom created by the certain knowledge that all but 1 or 2 clubs are simply avoiding relegation and continuing to 'exist' in the Prem is significant. Football has always been known as the sport of the masses and whilst Abromovich must have the mark of the beast somewhere on his person the Prem have been myopically stupid in ancouraging the prostitution of the game to the wealthier segment of the population. I've already pointed out that the people who seem to be deserting us are the more recent supporters who were lured by the glitz and 'fashion' of the 90's, it seems as I've long suspected that this section of our support simply do not have the game in their soul.
  4. Bentley has done well in giving Emerton a challenge for his place in the team but for me the jury is still well and truly still out on him. Fraid I cannot see much to rave about yet.
  5. I thank you.
  6. Alan! WAKE UP AND GET OFF THE SPACE BAR FFS!
  7. I think the operative word there is 'definitely' cletus.
  8. You guessed right Den. No names no pack drill but I am quite certain that the Bancroft directors box ticket allocation (4 I think) has indeed been withdrawn. I believe it's for 'something said' which does seem rather churlish to a dedicated Rover. Maybe our man on the inside Lee would be prepared to dig around and shed some light on the matter.
  9. Sorry. Want it in French do you cock? Well stuff that! If you cannot keep up just tell me which bit you are struggling with and I'll write bigger for you.
  10. Admin ........Put this onto the recent thread (that I cannot find) on boardroom changes if you want. Anyway...... I understand that following the recent changes where Williams is now Chairman and Coar and Mathewman are off the board, it appears that Club President and ex-chairman 'Bill' Bancroft has not been offered his usual seat in the Directors box. Apparently it is something that he has 'said' to someone on high. Bloody shabby way to treat a true lifetime supporter of the club by people who are not proper BRFC supporters but who only ever came here for a fat salary package imo. And imo just another clear sign of the underlying intention of the powers that be to sell the club. Time will tell.
  11. Rio's limitations are being shown up currently. "Best centre half in the world" his agents having a laugh! Just like Dracula he hates crosses! Big club bias at work again though. Linekar looked aghast when it was suggested by Lawro that he is not playing well enough to be picked for England, (imo he wouldn't even get in the New Zealand team! ) also all of a sudden and as quick as Heskey was out of it we now have Peter Crouch in the frame! What a load of stupid bugggers run football eh?
  12. He looks bloody daft and should be told to think of another way to celebrate.
  13. Well thank God Hughes was obviously not very happy with that pairing waggy! As for continually criticising Kuqi you are being churlish. Sure he's no jimmy greaves but last season we'd have had to see Bambi come on as sub and that alone would have been enough to guarantee WBA at least a share of the points. Hughes has got a better player and put a million quid in the kitty, so how can you possibly argue with that? I've got to say one thing that is never commented on is the amount of defensive work done by both Dickov and Kuqi. They allow no teams the luxury of building from the back and that is incalculable in terms of team work. Their 'in your face' attitude was typified yesterday when Kuqi's first contribution was to close the left back down so quickly that all he could do was lump it wildly 60 yards into Friedal's arms. And that aspect of the game is more important than most on here appear to recognise waggy.
  14. Bring this up at a dinner party or in the pub and the number of people who confess to no having renewed is very telling. I'm generalising but imo they tend to be the ones that only started coming during JW/KMD years anyway. Not 'proper' committed football fans but rather prawn sarnie brigaders. I know their 20 quid is the same as everybody elses but a club cannot run successfully funded by fair weather friends, cos when the bad times inevitably come the funding dries up to too low a level to enable recovery.
  15. Yet in reality the actual population density* trails some way behind this and the Benelux countries. *'density' being number of people per square mile.
  16. A feeling prob echoed by at least 90% of all football fans. If every body pulled their finger out though we'd be back at square one.
  17. In another era RVN's goal would have been given offside too.
  18. Maybe we could persuade Tim Sherwood to come out or retirement for one game or even Everton to loan us Lee Carsley for the day just so that you can have a Rovers player to really hate!
  19. It's brought back 1 for me worse luck .......I rem em stuffing us 4-0 at Ewood.
  20. Dont push him or you may well put him off for life. Seriously! imo kids should not go until they have been playing team football at school for a year or two, 7 at the earliest but age 8 is about right.
  21. In that case we would have made more money!
  22. QUOTE(Rover4ever @ Sep 24 2005, 13:56 ) Did anyone notice Gray's reaction when MGP's shot hits the net for the 2nd? The way he clutches his head, one would think that he just scored an own goal I honestly think he was going: "Oh my God! What a shot!" Wow. I've watched it twice now and imo Gray's first thought was that MGP had hit the side netting.
  23. Blackburn manager Mark Hughes said. "A lot of people have been too quick to criticise us. Perhaps after this performance, they'll give us a bit more credit." Wrong Mark from the reports that I've read this morning it was MU who lost the game not us who won it.
  24. It seems BRFC are not the only victims of Arsenals well rehearsed wibbly woobly antics......... http://www.dailymail.co.uk/pages/live/arti...71&in_a_source= 'leeesten mes amies, everytime yoo looz ze ball you merst immediately fall over and fool ze referee eentoo geeving us ze free keek.' btw just re-read that and it sounds more like Inspecter Clouseau is managing the Arse than Wenger.
  25. BRFC did do something about making football cheaper on Wednesday night. £10 per ticket and about 5500 turned up ffs! A few people may be turned on by lower ticket prices but not enough to make a significant difference. It seems to me that apathy does not have a price! It just lies dormant in the psyche of most human beings waiting until conditions allow it to reappear and spread in the manner of more usual epidemics. Mark my words, as the numbers of deserters in this town increase the ones who are currently rather shamefaced about packing in will quickly come to scoff and embarrass those that do still go. Going to BRFC is simply becoming unfashionable.
