I read it 30 years ago and find I am bloody well living it today! -
How the mighty fall eh?
-
You mean that you have attended every match. I'd wager that you miss at least 50% of the action of every game through your stupid antics whilst the game is being played............in fact that could make an interesting debate on here. Is a Prem match a spectator sport or a spectacle?
-
If Owen knocks em back it could be the final nail in Souness's coffin.

Look closely and there's nothing in those eyes is there Colin? A true emptyhead if I'm not mistaken. Or to put it more succinctly, the lights are on but no-ones in. ...........The birds got nice tits though.

Footballs fooked. Is anybody really surprised by this Evertonians view? All that tells me is that it was great when Moores made them the millionaires club just as it was great for us when Jack did and now its a great time to be a Chelsea fan. As most on here know already, even when we were top dog I always knew that we would find our own level again eventually unless we found a permanent way of going from strength to strength. History nearly always repeats itself. Why should Cahill display die hard loyalty anyway? He's not from the blue half of Everton is he? Money means that players play for the highest bidder, they are modern day gunslingers / mercenaries. If the money dries up then off they go. Whats wrong with that when put in the concept of us all with our everyday income sources? Gone are the days when Celtic won the European Cup in a proper Champions knock-out mannner with 9 Glaswegians in the team. Why do we expect anything else? Unless we are as thick as we think the the footballers themseleves are! Loyalty only works one way. And loyalty sucks anyway, who for instance on here doesn't think Matt Le Tissier should have moved on for the sake of his own career and his International one? Football is not on its own. Heavyweight boxing was awesome until the last 20 odd years, Formula 1 GP racing likewise. Now money has made them all one big yawn. They are a turn off. I cannot see the situation changing in footy either. Who on here would rather see Rovers lose 5-6 than get a point with a 0-0? No-one thats who, and until that changes we are on the same old treadmill. Still what else would we talk about? -

And what help did having supporters in attendance do the team during the 2nd half at West Ham and 1st half at Villa park??? Great statement to the footballing powers that be and one that hopefully could catch on with other teams at Stamford Bridge. How about organising it and then telling the TV channels 'we'll only come back when you stop showing pointless pics of the Russian looking bored and clapping half heartedly every time a goal has been scored.'........ cos that does my firkin head in! -

Sorry I thought you said you were going on Sat. Dont want to be unsporting but 3-4 days rain at the Oval would be just the ticket in making up for the loss of a day at OT when we should have won. -

Finally voted and am suprised to find that the alternative of watching the match in the pub is not top of the list. Without sounding pompous I wonder if people have considered the options through? Cos poor entertainment / cost of tickets or whatever most people will still watch in the pub and spend the money on beer......... imho. -

Made easier of course by the root cause of the problem........ after cost. The inescapable fact that the likes of the Knowles / Hordens / Woodlands etc etc show every game live on the telly. ps .......as for JJB gym - 3 months membership Next Generation gym - 1 months membership Marineland (Nice) - 14 hours entrance including 5 performances, 45 minutes each Test match at OT - 1.5 visits T20 - 5 matches Cinema - 5 visits Prague - two return tickets Prague - 4 nights dinner, B&B I'll go with the Prague bit but I'd rather stick pins in my eyes or suck worms than swap for the others (current test series excepted of course btw your day there Sat was washed out wasn't it?)............ good job we aren't all the same eh Paul? -

About the only positive of Amo regaining fitness is that should he be selected to play (injury crisis only or last 20 mins of a game) I will be interested to see what he makes of Pedersons corners. Amo is the best header of a ball in the squad and the best since Shearer. -

Granted AV had the better chances Paul but by the middle of the 2nd half possession was 71%:29% in our favour. MotD did not reflect that. However....... 1. Hughes should not have put Reid at right back. He is hardly Lampard but he does represent the only midfielder that we have that can get up quick enough to support Kuqi. We should have a replacement in the squad / reserves somewhere who we must play when necessary. Sure Barry is a threat but Souness taught us not to make bigger changes to a team than is necessary. 2. Away from home for the first 60 mins I would also play Mokoena before Tugay. Tugay will not be expected to play every game and should be saved for home matches where we usually enjoy more territorial advantage. 3. Kuqi / Stead? At least with Kuqi upfront the centre halves know that they have been in a game and he is often our first line of defence. Compare this with Bambi-on-ice Steady and also with the pathetic defensive effort that Johnson put in v Spurs when he came on. 4. We didn't cop out with Andy Cole. We were actually dead in the water in matching City financially for Cole's signature the minute that they knew that Wright-Phillips was wanted by Chelsea. 5. We still persist in playing in ever decreasing circles down one wing and do not switch play across the pitch often or quickly enough. Even with Tugay in the team it's a prob with our game that we've never sorted since Tim Sherwood left. -
You kids wont remember this but not too long ago (late 70's-early 80's) a Backburn fan was jailed for throwing a brick after a game and killing a Carlisle United fan! An inch or two either way and we could easily be discussing the death of Wez today. How trivial is that? The incident at Carlisle rather spoiled Saturday night for the pair of them! Two lives fcuked up! So please rem .....its not big and its not clever boys.

Wow! But doesn't everybody nowadays?

Surely matching that £20 should be enough. Why chuck £100,000 away if there is no need? btw thats near where I sit in the Riverside and it is a cracking view. -

Well they should. Their gardens could probably do with a once over. Anyway such an initiative would be for the overall good of the game of professional football in this country .......... and they are all football fans aren't they? Also they'd look pretty daft sat there on their own. -
Well just for members benefit, could you explain the relevence of and reason for singing either of those songs at away grounds Wez? btw Please try to use acceptable grammar and punctuation. It's far easier to read.

Not pc waggy but I just like to watch the football and not the back of some nobhead who continously leaps up and turns around trying to start some pathetically irrelevent song in a raucous, gravelly and tuneless voice about £2 an hour (when he prob doesn't even earn that much) or about Burnley bstards tawts and cnuts! If the clubs want my (and thousands like me) £30 then they need to address the matter.

Something that I've been mulling over recently......... How about organising a total BRFC boycott of the Chelsea away game on the 29th Oct? Everybody knows that the new 'media darlings' under the direction of Kenyon are spoiling the Prem League so why not all stay away? Remember... empty terraces make most noise in the boardroom. It would be brilliant if there was'nt a soul from BRFC there, the media could not ignore that and it would be lovely to see the likes of Hanson squirming in his seat trying to explain the unpalatable (to the likes of him) mood of the public. Who knows if we managed it it might spread to other clubs and a united 'Stay away from the Bridge' campaign would send the best warning shot ever across the bows of the entire FA, media etc. We could all watch the game in the pubs and clubs anyway and the thought of chucking Abromovich £45 quid appalls me. -
And precisely why I now choose to go to so few away games! If the match is a sell out for away fans the prospect of being sat behind or amongst boorish, foul mouthed and ignorant drunks whose last thought is to actually watch the match turns me right off. Time for BRFC to revue their policy of selling away tickets perhaps? Incidentally given that we have so much room in the Darwen End maybe we should introduce a two tier ticketing policy for visiting fans to Ewood. Darwen End lower @ £25 (or whatever it costs) and a free pepperami for the yobs and £35 inc a free programme and meal ticket upstairs for the more 'cerebral' football fans. Publicised well enough it might just attract a few thousand more over the course of a season. Accepting that we need to attract more spectators and given the superb facilities, the safety angle, the car parking, the view of the pitch and close access to the Motorway I think Ewood Park should rightly be promoted as a favourite venue for many opposing supporters............. ........I wonder if such a thought has ever entered Beamo's head?

Obviously still concussed.

Obviously you can tell lies for fun so how much of this is a lie?......... "cheers mate and as for "WE started the trouble" i think you will find that we didnt...... if someone likes to throw a brik in my face (i was the one who got bricked) well i tihkn that there is going to be abit of trouble so get your facts right plz THEY threw the Cone THEY threw the sauce tubs THEY threw the briks. well its all on CCTV and they police have said that villa started it as they have rung me up this morning to know how i was because i was "concussed" but yeh thanks" BTW Do you drive? If so (and assuming that you telling the truth about consuming 7 pints ......which imo is prob another of your fabrications) try telling some policeman when he stops you in your car that 7 pints in a couple of hours does not make you drunk.

I bet I do now Paul. Lets apply a bit of lateral thinking. (Rem this is to watch the top team in the country if not Europe) Over the course of a season and taking into account petrol, away trips and after match beer money I spend a fair bit in invisibles. Give up the away tickets and about a gallon after the game, taxi home etc and I would say yes. Take the Prem down to fewer clubs and the sums begin to stack up a bit. My kids pay small fortunes to go and watch spotty faced and largely talentless pop stars, the cost of watching 'proper' 5 star entertainers is frightening. Yet I know what I'd rather spend my hard earned on.
