  1. Doubt it unless Chelsea need a result AT Ewood to win the Prem. As it stands Gavs bet has been sabotaged by Sky TV.
  2. Only saw the replay from distance so I may well be mistaken but imo the Wigan defender appeared to shove Neil into their keeper. Can anybody clarify that?
  3. Excellent player. MGP was snuffed out of the game. I liked Bullard too. He's their Savage. Speaking of whom, I dont think Sav and Reid ever play well together in the middle. The forwards get little service and have to feed off the scraps provided by great long balls supplied by our defenders. We need either a creative midfielder to play with Sav (and they are like hens teeth and well expensive) OR alternatively 2 better wide men to provide creativity. Reid can be one (just) although last night when Bentley went off and Tugay came on Reidy stuck religiously to his centre-mid role cluttering up the middle for Tugay and Sav and leaving acres on the right wing! The team became totally imbalanced. Can nobody captain the side properly? (Notice that when Reid) eventually did go wide he made the goal! As for MGP, if he couldn't take massive long throws and score the odd free kick he'd be playing in the stiffs every week. Bentley has no position to call his own, never has had and is simply a utility / bench man, whilst Emerton is just plain addled. I do notice that Neil plays much much better with Emo than Bentley as he tracks back to perform defensive duties far better than Bentley does.
  4. To all you Sky viewers...... Did Sky commentators / pundits not mention the linesman / ass ref standing with his flag up for ages before Neil gave away the corner from which they scored? I certainly never saw or heard it mentioned after the game. How many times to piggin refs overule offside decisions ffs? Never! And why should they thats what the linesme / ass refs are for!
  5. "Fillin the ground ....we're having a larf" Have you given up going Jim? Or can your bladder not stand 45 mins in the cold these days?
  6. Well it makes ME feel better and thats that.
  7. "Think about it." So often a rarity on here Paul. Too many just think of themselves.
  8. Kids shouldn't go regularly until they are at least 7 imo. For starters they dont understand footy until they begin to play it as a team game at school / cubs etc. And for seconds sitting shivering, cold and miserable for 1hr 45 in adverse conditions more often than not in totally inadequate cheap clothing puts many off for life.
  9. I merely commented that there was a touch of 'we dog worry sheep whilst I holed the tail' Flopsy! I already mentioned on that thread that it's NOT supporters that are needed at the moment by BRFC as much as funding. And for that distance should be no object. Thanks to modern media technology enjoyment of the exploits at Ewood is not confined just to the terraces these days, but in the main paying for it still is. Thats it now. I'll say no more on this thread
  10. Horses mouth............ http://www.thefa.com/TheFA/RulesAndRegulat...02/05/12117.htm nNB: There is NO direct reference to a mandatory caution for handball!
  11. I agree with the first sentence too ........even if it does carry a certain irony coming from such a distant source. As for the second sentence just look at the %age of members (displayed on this mb) who only started watching in the Wallker era. They know nowt yet do they?
  12. Crikey it must be something to do with the hour........ I forgot about him! Solano's a good player but he'll be 33 or so next season.
  13. Indeed they did Le Chuck. They went for millions that chelsea didn't have! I wonder where Chelsea would be now if Abromovitch hadn't been knocked back by Spurs? As financially knackered as LUFC, Forest and Derby I expect. Whose money it was matters little to the point that I made to Jan though. Oh I forgot...... Geremi from Boro and.......... ....... Veron from MUtd!
  14. Not wanting to open old wounds but whats happened to Matty's last chance saloon? I know all the african nations guys are back but he was not even on the team sheet today. Is he injured or has Sam come to the same conclusion as Hughes, Souness, Strachan etc? I suspected Jansen would not figure at Bolton for long so God only knows the state of mind he is in now.
  15. Eh? Are you a Rovers fan for the duration or just a fan of two players? I know that it was a disappointing time especially on top of losing Jansen in fact everybody does, but in hindsight we got more than enough for old glassback, and we were powerless to stop Duffer going anyway. As for losing star players to the Russian billionaire West Ham lost Cole and Lampard, Soton lost Bridge, Charlton lost Parker, Bolton lost Gudjonnsen yet they can ALL still leave us behind in the attendance stakes.
  16. Zigga Zagga Zigga Zagga Oi Oi Oi!
  17. Beg to differ there Eddie. Given a choice of the two squads and in order to improve our squad I would only want Bowyer and possibly Given and a proven fit Parker from the Mags. Whereas I'd look at Bent, Holland, Kishishev, El Karkouri, Rommedahl, Hreiderson and maybe more from the Charlton squad. Just as an aside I must say after watching Steven Carr v Chelsea that he is the worst full back that I have seen in the Prem this season! He even makes Matteo look like accomplished.
  18. ? I dont follow your reasoning there Fife R. They were both on 39 points this morning so why would Charlton (now on 42 points) not carry exactly the same ambition as the Mags?
  19. Why? Does he drink all day or is he just a p1ss head Fife? Whatever he is probably a write off which is a sin and a shame with his level of talent. Maybe like Gazza he should have gone to MU instead of the capital. Fergie (or whoever) certainly seem to have improved Rooney's attitude and although I hate to say it praise is certainly due to the old git. Speaking of MU I think Brum would have had a serious tonking if a younger Roy Keane had still been there. Complete low life as an individual but as a captain and on field leader he would not have let certain players get away with showboating after 30 mins with the score 2-0. Maybe it's partly why Chelsea have the Prem title.
  20. You're old enough to remember Philip............. does Sullivan look more like Jimmy Clitheroe of that little one in the Krankies? It's bugging me.
  21. Do they do 'speed reading' lessons too Aggy?
  22. Well said ozziejones. Surely a cash turnstlile for an area (upper or lower) in the Darwen End should be feasible? btw shillito........"Scared to excel and strive to get the very best." please dont confuse caution with fear. Rem what happened when the Light Brigade played away in Europe and displayed a commendable lack of fear?
  23. Damned if we do and damned if we dont! 1. If Rovers make the CL we will have nowhere to go playing wise. We are currently excelling ourselves whereas teams with better squads like spuds and the Arse are under achieving but well capable of stepping up a gear. 2. CL would mean lots of money but it's certain that the players agents would all be queuing up to get their snouts in the trough. Would all have to be very carefully handled with rewards based on achievements and no long term fat cat contracts handed out. 3. Next season could prove a real strain like it did with Everton and to a lesser extent Boro. The toffees were absolutely humiliated in Europe! Would we like that experience? Personally even at Christmas I would have been happy with a top half finish this season but all credit to the team and manager for getting us into a position that I did not think possible then. Strange thing is that apart from the big 3/4 I can find no discernable difference between the rest of the division. Are we really that much better than the likes of Boro / Villa / WBA? Next August we could easily be back to square 1 with the effect of European competition. 4. Fill the ground with the likes of Milan and Barca etc? No piggin chance! Not unless they bring 15000 of their own! I can hear our 'plastic supporters now .....'Go down? eh when it's live on tele'? .......'we've no effin chance they'll be taking the p1ss out of us'..........'its on int pub'..........'How much FFS?! they are just tekkin the p1ss! I've a wife, 6 kids 2 ferrets a whippet and a beer and fag habit to support'........'when I'm not driving this taxi I dont go bloody Blackburn I support Man Utd mate'. ! The negativity would be soul destroying! 5. On the plus side Sparky would no doubt be allowed to bring is some new players of quality with the extra funds available, hopefully making our survival in the Prem more secure. But beware cos Everton using up their war chest on Beatty didn't work all that well did it? We'll all have to take whatever we get and after the past few seasons this is fantastic and Hughes ambition for himself and also the club is superb but there are many subleties and situations in store for whichever scenario we end up with.
