  1. Exactly, that is what this discussion started as. The fact that teams at the moment don't know how to keep possession from throw-ins. Years ago it was not a problem.
  2. I suggest you watch The Big Match revisted on Saturday mornings, You will see every team takes throw-ins very quickly and usually they keep possession. It really is that simple.
  3. It's simple really, you take the throw quickly before the opposition can mark-up. Most teams have a player whose job is to mark the thrower, so that negates the extra man.
  4. and Carlisle
  5. Next weeks game is a strange one to me. There is no middle ground, If we lose I will be disappointed. If we get a draw at Bournemouth I will be ecstatic. Usually if we get a draw, I think well that will do.
  6. We were outclassed in every department today. I was very impressed with Uniteds defender Teden Mengi. He was always available for a pass, everything he did was simple and acurate. On a couple of occasions their defence was being stretched, he put the ball out of the ground, to give the team time to organise themselves. I thought the Rovers looked in a better shape when George Pratt came on.
  7. I'd love to stay and debate the point, but I am off to watch the U23s.
  8. Spread the network, and lets see what the responce is. Lets get as many people as we can coming to the Rovers.
  9. You don't have to get both. I seem to remember Dalgleish gave interesting comments to the media. But I must remember that it is not 1995.
  10. I don't think Mowbrays statements get less ridiculous when we are winning, I just take less notice of them.
  11. It is not just the first team that are poor at throw ins. The U23s and 18s suffer from the same problem. To me it seems to stem from the fact that players seem obsessed with stealing a couple of yards up the line, instead of getting the ball back in play before the opposition is set up.
  12. At no point have I put down the Rovers. I just don't like Mowbray, mainly because of his statements to the media.
  13. I will always want Mowbray gone. Results will not change my opinion of him.
  14. I will be ecstatic If we don't get beat at Bournemouth.
  15. I'm staying over in Bournemouth next Saturday, is anybody else ?
  16. I do not know the ins and out of whatever methods Mowbray uses with his players. But I do know he has a tendency to spout a load of bollocks when giving a media interview.
  17. He struggles defending at U23 level.
  18. Pretty quick, not slow, decent on the ball ? I would want more than that to base a system on.
  19. I dont see how your statement equates to our defenders being quick and good on the ball ? What you have discribed is three players vying for the two central positions in a back four.
  20. As a professional, playing at our level, I would expect more than "some ability".
  21. I remember as a kid in the seventies, Bolton was always more hassle than Burnley.
