  1. We are due to play Stockport in a friendly on August 2nd which is the last of the scheduled friendlies.
  2. What does Eustace mean exactly when he says this: "If we can add four or five quality players to the group, we will be a competitive team in the Championship." Competitive is not a word I want to hear because it implies to me that his aim is mid table rather than the top end of the league. Competitive is the very least of my expectations. I could get eleven supporters from NO1 who would be competitive but lose every game. It appears he has started early with his banal interviews.
  3. I was thinking exactly the same but what sticks in my craw is the fact Southgate said Adam has something England haven't seen for eight years with his forward passing. And that is one of the areas where England have been really struggling so why not give him a go. Adam will be better for the experience but I just don't understand why Southgate has showed no confidence in him.
  4. For years now the Jocks have taunted England by singing about Argentina and quite a few have taken to wearing Argentina shirts during World Cups. So for me it is really ironic that an Argentinian referee turns down what the majority thought was a stonewall penalty which would probably have seen them go through. Karma really is a bitch 🤣🤣
  5. I'm pleasantly surprised at that. It exceeds my expectations. Hopefully the club see sense and extend the early bird deadline to try and increase that.
  6. Wasn't that at just a particularly point in time? The only time to do a deal comparison is right now as the deadline has ended. I think though that the majority of new season tickets will be in the under 12 category which will be simply down to the price. I know several people who have bought them for their kids and grandkids but out of them only one has a new adult sale (or to be correct senior). It would be interesting to know the demographic make up of sales at some point in the future.
  7. Absolutely right and to desecrate our shirt with that was a disgrace but from a monetary point of view I can't see the new sponsors paying much more. Think Big was the mantra of Jack Walker and once again it seems we have taken the easy route.
  8. At the very least we will be live on Sky 20 times next season. That alone should have been the main selling point to attract at worst a nationally known sponsor. It's very North West Counties league to have a firm of local solid as our main sponsor.
  9. Next season will be different with the new Sky deal as every club is guaranteed to be on live at least twenty times. The exposure for any major sponsor will be greater that it ever has for EFL clubs. In light of that alone we should have been pursuing at the very least a national organisation and charged accordingly rather than a firm of local solicitors. If it is true then it smacks to me of laziness and the lack of real ambition for the club.
  10. That post comes across as so arrogant. If you don't want to renew that is your prerogative but to have a go at those who have renewed is wrong.
  11. I don't really follow cricket but isn't the current England coach from New Zealand?
  12. The Dingles new coach looks unerringly like John Eustace albeit a bit slimmer. Agent John? 😂😂
  13. We will be guaranteed to be live on Sky at least twenty times next season as well as highlights on weekly. How can we not attract at the very least a national organisation rather than a firm of local solicitors (subject to the rumour being true) who nobody outside of East Lancashire has heard of. Once again it appears that the lowest hanging fruit is about to be picked.
  14. If Southgate is bemoaning the lack of a Kalvin Phillips why didn't he actually put him in the squad. He hasn't played much football but Shaw hasn't and he's there and Maguire had hardly played and would have played had he not been injured.
  15. I will buy all three but in kids sizes only which are sponsorless. There is absolutely no way would I buy anything with that sponsors logo on. I will be writing to Fraser Read telling him just that. It's a real irony that Rovers were pushing things like Digital Day and chasing some EFL environmental award and yet they advertise a product that could be harmful to people, potentially carcinogenic.
  16. This communication states that the deadline for Early Bird sales is Sunday 23rd June but the original communication was that June 22nd was the deadline. I know it's only a day but the lack of clarity in the club communications leaves a lot to be desired.
  17. Stanley, also supplied by Macron have had all three kits on sale since June 13th. Our away kit isn't available until w/c July 14th. We haven't yet even gone public about 3rd kit availability. I wonder what excuse they will have after the recent ones of Suez and Covid.
  18. We really have to think of the commercial spin offs from potentially signing McFadzean, Ruddy and Fleck. We could sell incontinence pants sponsored by Macron, zimmer frames with their names on and sponsored by Totally Wicked and Waggott could explore the possibility of a price reduction in the hired bus as they could use their bus passes. Seriously how can the club to from the 'project' which Broughton and Tomasson often spoke about and having, at times the youngest team playing in the Championship to signing players who are really at the backend of their careers and in Flecks case injury prone. The club has never had a forward plan and will never have under these owners. I can accept McFadzean as he was generally good last season but the other two? I will be disappointed if they get any sort of deal.
  19. Tell it to the judge 😂😂. I can vouch for oldjamfan1's sportsmanship being Lineker like. Ability wise it was a different story 😂.
  20. The football has been decent so far but I think the standard of commentary and punditry is generally awful. It's almost like some of the pundits are talking to people who have never watched football before such are some of the patronising, banal comments.
  21. And potentially spend an unnecessary £10 to renew in person 😉. In fairness though I'm a registered Luddite and I found it quite easy and straightforward to renew ours. Trying to find our loyalty points though was reverting to type for me and I gave up eventually.
  22. Arguably the most colourful fans at the Euros.
