I asked Harry Pickering before the game if the players know what it means to us. Yes he answered. It was evident in the performance of every one of them that they did. -

When we went down to ten men Dolan was asked to do something quite alien to him and defend particularly down our right side. I noticed on several occasions McFadzean (who was warming up) coaching him into the right plus which clearly helped Dolan. He is a top professional. -

It was one of quite a few incidents where he lost control and confusion reigned. Eustace normally doesn't comment on officials but he has today. -

At Premier and Championship level there are no assessors there on the day. His performance will be studied and a review with referee coaches will take place and he will be advised accordingly. My opinion was that the game was too big for him and he showed this by mismanagement of several key incidents. It's a long time since I've seen Rovers fans as angry at a referee as they were and for the first time I can remember Eustace was critical of him in his post match interview. -

From afar I thought he showed the Dingle a yellow card but the fact he didn't just sums him up. He was awful. -

I said I thought he did but if he didn't that is another awful decision from Harrinton. -
After playing last night Tyjon actually warmed up with the players today. He looks to have a great attitude.

I thought he did book the Burnley player but it was an afterthought. The delay in doing it caused frustration and Gueye to do what he did. I'm not excusing Gueye but the referee caused it with what was an awful piece of refereeing. At times the game looked too big for him. -

So proud to be a Rovers fan right now after we fought against a hostile atmosphere and the ineptitude of the match officials. The first fifteen minutes aside we showed the grit and determination to pretty much overcome these obstacles. So many big performances and today the spectre of November 22 was firmly laid to rest. It was a real worry for me and I really wanted us to be competitive and I wasn't let down. Tackles, fouls, blocks, shithousery and some decent football made it for me a great performance and even with the we could have nicked it, in fact I'd go as far as to say with a full quota we would have win it. And once again Eustace comes out with credit. He is showing several sides to the way he wants us to play and tactically he is really good. Hopefully it shuts that lot up for a while. The song '100 million down the drain, Andy Wiemann scores agan' was music to my ears. -

No place for faint hearts today. Every player needs to be at it from the first minute but also keep cool heads. -
Tyjon's goal was something I have seen him do a few times in that he can beat players in really tight spaces. He did it several times last night and his tight, close control enables him to do it naturally. We need to wrap this one in cotton wool 😁.

Local reports say that supermarkets in the Blackburn area have run out of Dettol and other disinfectants. The surge in sales is put down to Rovers fans who are going to Turd Morgue needing to bathe in it this evening. -
Perhaps not. Physically he is a year or two away from that in my opinion but the rest of his game is good enough. I get the same excitement about him as I did with Adam Wharton at a similar age.

They are around £6m down this season with the new Sky deal alone. -

Incredible to think that Birmingham paid £5m more for Stansfield than Liverpool did for a 26 year old with 51 full caps for Italy. It's going to end in tears at St Andrews. -
The left back was Brandon Powell. He seems to be following the career path of Duru. After not really impressing last season he has really progressed in a short space of time. He looks like a strong wind would blow him over but that will be rectified. He is one to watch.

I'm quite happy overall considering my expectations were so low when the window opened. The wheeling and dealing has been something Del Boy would have been proud of but ultimately I think the ins and outs, wages etc will have balanced out so in my view we haven't actually spent anything. We strengthened in areas where we needed to and time will tell regarding the suitability of the players coming in. Having seen several of these already I am quite relaxed about them but the likes of Toth, Cozier-Duberry and Beck I know nothing about but they come with good reputations. The one that intrigues me is Cantwell. Having watched him at Norwich I have always thought there is a player there but that hasn't really materialised so far but I firmly believe that Eustace is the type of manager to get the best out him. In that respect I mean that I see Eustace in the Allardyce mould in terms of fixing wayward players. -

I've just got up, drawn back the blinds and the first thing I see is two magpies right outside my house. If that doesn't do it nothing will 🌹👍🙏 -
A much improved performance from the under 21's and for large periods of the game we were the better team. A sloppy goal was conceded early on but we probably had the better of the chances but went in one down. We started the second half really well and pinned them back with some quick, incisive play and it was no surprise when we equalised and at that point I thought we would go on to win it. Mike Sheron then made a triple substitution and much like the Carabao Cup game against Blackpool it seemed to weaken us and they seized upon this and got back into the game. The scoreline of 3-1 flatters them. The pick of the Rovers team were Powell (who was excellent), Litherland and Tyjon. Litherland strides forward from centre back and started so many attacking moves whilst Tyjon is going to be a too player. His skill, movement and athleticism were a joy to behold at times tonight.

There was loads of crap spread over some Blackburn End seats this evening. Can you think of another club where this would happen? -

He will have needed to be registered by noon to play. When is the deadline for registering a player in relation to the next round of fixtures? Documents have to be submitted prior to 12 noon on the day prior to the date of the relevant match. So for matches to be played on Saturday 2 September, forms will have to have been received prior to 12 noon on deadline day. Any applications received after 12 noon on deadline day (and before the window closes at 11.00pm) will still be processed but players will not be eligible until Sunday 3 September. https://www.efl.com/news/2023/august/31/all-you-need-to-know-ahead-of-the-summer-transfer-window-deadline/ -

As inverted wing backs wasn't it? This was to stop their quick wide players cutting inside and shooting. He played three centre halves in Mola, Hyam and Ayala. His rationale for playing Mola was that he was quick but then Ayala played so deep because he was slow. It certainly wasn't Tomasson's finest your and it was probably as low as I have felt for many years watching Rovers. The team selection coupled with too many players waving the white flag played right into their hands.
