  1. Ohashi looks to have the knack of finding space. Gueye also looks a real asset in terms of his overall play unlike Gallagher but needs to be a bit more clinical in front of goal. Hopefully the first goal will take the pressure off his shoulders. As for SS Ipswich - his price has just gone up a couple of million. Pay up or **** off.
  2. Strange game. Very composed first half, never showed up second half until Derby equalised and deservedly got pegged back. Then electrifying for a period before conceding another sloppy goal at the end. The two new lads up front were a breath of fresh air. When Ohashi scored the 4th I haven't had a beam on my face like that for a VERY long time. What a relief to finally not have to watch the fraud Gallagher plodding about stealing a living and for relatively modest fees what good captures they both look in comparison to some of the shite we've brought in ever since Mowbray came to the Club really, but more particularly during Broughton's time. Plenty of room for improvement but four goals and a win was way better than I dared hope. Well done Rovers and John Eustace. (And the recruitment team)
  3. Every time he gets the ball he loses it/ gives it away/the move breaks down.
  4. Hedges is beyond abysmal. If we had a half decent player on the left we'd be looking a pretty decent outfit. Gueye looks very promising, good half from Travis as well. Nice finish from Dolan.
  5. So what's the point of it all then? You don't neccesarily have to be any good at the job, just work within the annals of the FA.
  6. Yep. Chaddy: "The next England manager must be English!" The FA appoint Carsley. Chaddy: "Or Irish!"
  7. Carsley seems highly rated; but how much will we really get to know about him from the Nations League matches? I'm clinging to the vain hope he's only keeping the seat warm until a Klopp/Guardiola or Ancelotti is ready to take over. Presumably Poccetino isn't under consideration as he was available immediately.
  8. What Waggott seems to be clearly inferring in the interview is that the day to day business at the Club is completely unaffected in that although the owners have to provide a supporting bond which makes it twice as expensive to send money over as before, there is no other impediment to them doing so ,and transfer money is available on request and they have never previously refused a request to fund a transfer.. In reality we know that's a load of old tosh as it would appear to be the player sales which have kept the lights on for the last 12 months with none or very little of that money reinvested into the playing squad. Also correct me if I'm wrong but I thought we had previously established that Waggott's version of it is incorrect and they also have to get a no objection certificate from the Indian Authorities before sending money over?
  9. Well Steve said he told SS that if there was one thing he wanted to see it was him lining up against Derby and we all know Steve never tells porkies so............ Probably not.
  10. Don't understand that argument. If you can't replace a player after your own domestic window has closed - then just don't sell them. Simples!
  11. Just as uninformative but he's obviously taken note of all the flack he got last year and stopped short of making major multiple faux pas's like saying it was time to give the owners something back, that the target is survival, and lying about acquiring a new team bus which was in fact leased.
  12. At age 69 his hair is getting darker as he gets older though. Some feat that.
  13. That interview with Waggott was obviously an utter waste of time, the interviewer spoon fed him the answer most of the time with the way he phrased the questions and as others have said Waggott must think people are completely thick, or most likely by this point, doesn't care. The most annoying thing was the "woe is me" comment about how we're not sitting on a huge pile of cash because outgoing transfer fees are paid in installments. Which obviously matters not one jot as incoming transfers are paid for in exactly the same way. We're obviously also still operating in that parallel universe as well whereby the £23m or so (headline fees) for Raya and Wharton were never received. According to him the owners are still funding the Club despite the financial issues, so that being the case, why isn't that money available? It was a hard listen. Sooner he's gone the better.
  14. Exactly what I thought when I heard the news about Peter Jackson.
  15. We don't know what Gueye is like until we've seen him play. The opinions of those Spanish fans who have seen him play that you are completely discounting might turn out to be correct.
  16. Just smokescreen bollocks imo, you're never going to land a player bidding 800k E when the original asking price is 2m. That said Ipswich are similarly pissing us about by making a derogatory offer for SS but the difference there is they are probably taking a flyer in the hope the 20/08 hearing goes against the Club and we'll be forced to accept.
  17. Lol. I don't suppose you think he was any good against Newcastle again then either?
  18. Disagree completely. As the old saying goes - "Actions speak louder than words". They need to be DOING the right thing not just saying it. It's a good effort to get Suhail to a Supporters meeting though for what it's worth at the end of the day.
  19. And "next" season? This appears to be be raising more concerns than its addressing. You haven't told us there if there was any response from the Club to your various assertions. Did Suhail just sit there taking notes and say nothing or did he provide some responses that you have chosen not to divulge in the interests of building a relationship. I also think you're getting way way too hung up on the communication aspect. If we go into administration or out of business as a result of the Court Hearing on the 20th I couldn't care less if they communicate the news in an efficient and timely fashion. However whilst they are still Owners I do want them to fund the Club to the maximum amount permissible under the Regulations, to run the Club in a proper manner and provide a transfer budget to make us competitive. If they do that I'm not really bothered if we never hear from them from one year to the next.
  20. If Nixon is correct that's more than reasonable on our part. It's Ipswich who are tyrekicking and not interested enough to pay a realistic fee imo. We SHOULD tell them to do one until they're prepared to take negotiations seriously. But.........
  21. So from allegedly being ready to spend £2m on a keeper (Ha!) to bringing in a loanee. Normal service has been resumed
  22. "Meanwhile seventeen days later the Club goes out of business".
  23. Not that it means a great deal but the author of the piece estimates a fee of £1.7m to £2.1m if my fag packet maths is correct. Which I still can't see. Unless a very large percentage of it consists of add ons.
