Jordan usually talks a lot of sense and is spot on here once again. White is thick as mince, although half the time he probably takes the opposing view purely for dramatic effect.
-
If true - why didn't he then?
-
The table quoted on here was obviously wrong. Or we're submitting false accounts every year.

Knew someone would say that. Fair comment I guess. Hypothetically if they'd been caught by surprise by our form up to January and decided to wait and see how it all played out then I don't think it's a particularly unreasonable stance to take. If however the position was he was leaving at the end of the season no matter what (which I think it was) but no succession planning has taken place behind the scenes that puts a far more serious slant on the situation than Mowbray being a bit hard done to.
-
I'm not sure why I have to point it out but being on the edge of the play offs is an abject failure when you had a ten point cushion to seventh in mid to late January. The question the journalists would be better served posing is "why wasn't he sacked in time to salvage the season?"
-
The big difference for me is QPR are definitely out of the play offs whilst we still have a very slender chance. Once we are mathematically out of it I wouldn't be surprised to hear a similar sort of announcement coming out of Ewood.
-
What "current financial situation" is that then? The one whereby the owners top up our income every year to the maximum level allowable under the FFP regulations? I agree I could see the sense in waiting to see where we end up IF that is the reason he hasn't been told anything. The owners would look a bit silly if they'd come out with the usual backslapping "We'd like to thank Tony for all his sterling work and wish him all the best for the future" type guff some time ago and then he'd gone on to get us promoted.

I'll renew the minute Mowbray goes. It'll be well worth the extra £30 if it's after any cut off point. Hypothetically I'd be happy to pay an additional £30, £60 or £90 on top of that were Waggott, Venus and Lowe to go as well
-
Caused by a hefty wage bill which many managers might have put to far better use.

I didn't intend the word "tolerant" in this context as a compliment - I meant tolerant towards him. If it had been up to me I'd have fired him after poor performances and results at various points in each of the last 4 seasons.

You make it sound like some sort of achievement but in reality one dalliance with the play offs before embarking on a record breaking run to drop out of contention and leaving the squad in a desperate state isn't much of a return over 4 years with the added benefit of a £90-£100m quid investment from the owners is it?

For someone who claims he isn't bothered about his contractual situation, Mowbray doesn't half get his mates at the LT to flag it up on a regular basis to court sympathy. Now he seems to be trying to get everyone to feel sorry for him by announcing it looks like he'll be leaving etc. Well get the violins out - instead of cracking on he's been hard done by, he should be musing on the fact that he's been remarkably lucky to work for such tolerant owners who for some unknown reason have allowed him to limp unsatisfactorily to the end of his contract whereas at most Clubs he'd have been gone long ago. Can't wait to see the imminent back of the bloke, it's the only thing that's keeping me going tbh.

Yes, at least this win turns a potential dead rubber into what could be a quite tasty affair as long as Sheff Utd don't beat QPR Friday night. If nothing else it would be pretty satisfying to help deny Bournemouth automatic promotion after their attempts to unsettle the much maligned Joe Rothwell who incidentally I thought was excellent last night. Let's show the Bournemouth players what a real crowd looks like! Blimey, if that's one of his good games we're in trouble. Thought he was woeful. Must have been trained by Keith Andrews. Does a lot of pointing, including bizarrely when he has the ball.
-
Great result albeit likely to be too little far too late. Pleased for the travelling fans who had a good night for once but in reality it means the square root of naff all if we fail to make the play offs. You could give a lot more credit where it's due if we'd been on a terrible run but just about managed to pull it round whilst it was still in our own hands NOT after. Eerie parallels possibly to the relegation season under Mowbray when we started very well under him and temporarily got our noses above water then embarked on a terrible run of one win in seven games, then won the last two when it was too late. How can that happen with 2 completely different sets of players?
-
No pay off necessary, he's managed to (somehow) limp to the end of his contract. Happy Days.
-
It would be typical of us to let him go as soon as it is mathematically too late should we lose tonight. Almost like - "Job done, thanks Agent Tony".
-
Yes. Manager who's off in three games and who seemingly doesn't give a toss drops our best RB to play another player out of position there on the pretext RN isn't fully committed. That works.
-
So it isn't TM's fault he's led us on a run of eleven points from fifteen games and blown the best chance of automatic promotion we 're ever going to get? Isn't his fault he signed a load of garbage in January?

Mowbray being worse than Kean were words that were incorrectly attributed to me by Matty who I generally agre with on all things Rovers related. I was just comparing and contrasting my own personal feelings with those of Jimmy. To summarise my position I wouldn't attribute any credit whatsoever to either Kean or Mowbray. I think my additional animosity towards Mowbray stems from the fact he's been here so much longer than he who must not be named. The cackhanded and not very subtle attempt by the Coventrio to try and repeat their shenanigans and get Brockhall flogged off was also a massive turning point for me. You're right people's memories don't go back far enough, a lot of supporters now don't remember the days pre Jack, pre Walker Trust, pre Venky's when we didn't have the proverbial pot to widdle in yet various managers here performed with greater distinction than Mowbray ever could. Part of the problem is he is held up against the likes of Coyle or people who were only five minutes and gets an easy ride because of it.

Amen to that. 👍

Again incorrect. Actually said "Will be a minority view but I feel more strongly about Mowbray than Kean" "Bit like comparing cholera with typhoid" How exactly is that supportive of Kean? Don't tell me you've fallen for the line about Mowbray being a nice bloke and the working class hero jumpers for goalposts guff. As I see it in Kean's time we were struggling at the bottom of the Premier League and latterly near the top of the Championship. In general during Mowbray's time we've been struggling in the bottom half of the Championship despite around £90m worth of investment from the owners during his woeful 5 year tenure. And with things likely to get worse next season due to the state he'll be leaving us in assuming he goes. With the benefit of hindsight neither Kean nor Mowbray should have been anywhere near the Club. Another £90m - £100 m piled on the debt to get nowhere. Key players walking out for nothing. For SEM/Kentaro read HSH. So forgive me if I don't see how we're so much better off now than then. Anyhow, thread way off topic. Apologies. Tonight's game then ........

Don't misrepresent what I said. Didn't say Kean was no harm done at all. I'd be interested to hear why Mowbray (who at the end of the day is from the same stable as Kean, albeit rebadged under a different name) is any better though.
