  1. So another hearing absolutely pivotal to the future of the Club, maybe even pivotal to its continued existence. Nearly 24 hours on, not a word from Ewood about what was the eventual outcome. Could Waggott possibly treat the supporters with more contempt? Fans groups need to start putting their foot down and say that treating the supporters like mushrooms I.e. keep them in the dark and feed them a load of **** is not acceptable and will no longer be tolerated.
  2. You're right sorry. The main title seems fairly nebulous subject matter unrelated to the matter at hand. Perhaps their Advocate is trying to argue that as a matter of principle the Authorities are not entitled to be intervening in this manner.
  3. That was filed on 30/05/23. It doesn't seem particularly pertinent to today? Which is just as well because if it was it doesn't give theimpression of any hearing being a mere formality.
  4. Technically Eustace was right when he said Plymouth wasn't a "must win" game. We didn't win it yet the last time I looked we hadn't been relegated (yet) That said we all knew how vital it was to get a win. I don't however read too much into him saying what he did other than it being a fairly transparent attempt to take some pressure off the players, who tbh have shown themselves to be a right load of whinging prima donnas over the last nineteen games and during that meeting with certain fans and Waggott. Eustace's only job at the moment is to keep us up. If he's decided that the only way to get some sort of tune out of them until the end of the season is to blow smoke up their arses and tell them how wonderful they are, then again I have no particular problem with it. (If it works) Where the problem will lie, if he is indeed what you could describe as "a yes man", is next season and beyond when the Club will need someone in place of JDT with similar drive and ambition who is actually interested in results on the pitch to push Waggott Broughton and the owners into being as successful as we can be.
  5. Well, they could spend money on merch if we had any.
  6. We didn't hear anything until ages after last time either. It was down to an Eagle eyed poster on here to spot that the case had been adjourned. The silence from the Club was deafening- as it usually is when bad news is afoot - like when a planning application to bulldoze half of Brockhall had been sneakily slipped in under the radar but was spotted by someone on here ( MattyBlue?)
  7. You would have thought that as any request to the Court for funding is to keep the lights on only and is not intended to be earmarked for funding transfers, then any amount authorised would be reduced by the amount of the first installment received for Adam Wharton. On the other hand you'd sort of hope any monies to be received for Raya in summer might be able to be put towards transfers. Remains to be seen I suppose.
  8. I wasnt a JDT out person but I have to say I don't think the majority of people are giving Eustace any sort of chance. Is this mainly down to the fact (unlike JDT) that his comments would tend to indicate he won't be rocking the boat or giving Waggott a hard time at any point? Do I think Eustace is the man to take us forward in the long term? Not sure on the basis of what we've seen so far. However I am pretty certain that JDT would have taken us down had he stayed and if Eustace keeps us up, by whatever means, he'll have done his job for this season.
  9. I actually thought it was a really disappointing game given the quality of the two sides. City weren't at it at all I didn't think
  10. In Devil's advocate mode, if you were trying to throw a game isn't it likely you'd chuck in a few off target efforts in an attempt to make it slightly less suspicious? No shots on or off target strikes me as being completely outclassed and/or completely not arsed rather than deliberately trying to throw the game. And looking at the respective line ups for that Spurs game I'd go for a combination of the first 2.
  11. I'm bloody sure they wouldn't. Be more likely to drop straight through.
  12. Blimey, we had the ultimate bottle jobs like Orr, Dann, Lowe, and Pedersen up against players like Kyle Walker, Gallas, Danny Rose, Aaron Lennon at his peak, Modric and Bale and people wonder why we struggled to make any impression?
  13. That was a dead rubber by that point tbf. When it actually mattered the team couldn't produce a win for love nor money.
  14. We might end up being incredibly grateful to Damien Johnson for those 3 points against Stoke. I agree a temporary firefighting appointment until the end of the season might have been best then rather than rip everything up and start again. You'd have thought the most logical idea might have been to revert to the previous JDT "model" of play albeit with a decent Director of Football in situ this time.
  15. I liked the fact he wanted the Club to be ambitious and given the fact that footballing operations essentially boiled down to Waggott Broughton and him saw him as the Club's only real hope in the long term. Ultimately though, results didn't match the hyperbole as likeable as he is/was. As far as Eustace is concerned I don't really get the apparent hate towards him. His job is to keep us up. If he achieves that he will have succeeded no matter how ugly it gets. After that however, even if we stay up this season, I don't see how playing in the current manner is sustainable in the long run.
  16. I'm not sure where you get your optimism from after two wins from nineteen Chaddy but I fear that phrase in particular will come back to haunt you in years to come. Talk about tempting fate.
  17. JDT was fairly over-rated as a manager here imo. There's no doubt he had us playing an attractive brand of football at times but like Mowbray before him in his first season he managed to miss out on a play off place when it seemed impossible to do so. In his second season the players appeared to have completely given up on whatever it was he was asking them to do and we were hurtling towards relegation long before his departure. Its no good playing pretty football if you're conceding 2-3 goals and losing every week. All that said he was clearly very ambitious for the Club and was a man of integrity, unlike the rest of senior management. No Coach or Manager should be expected to work under conditions whereby the Club's primary transfer target gets sabotaged either deliberately or by incompetence every year. It's a shame he didn't take up another Club job so we could have seen once and for all what we did or didn't miss out on. The Sweden gig is pretty much a free hit for him. As long as he gets them playing some nice stuff then I don't suppose too much pressure will be put on him in terms of results. A bit like the working conditions here which seemingly he didn't like.
  18. You don't give up do you - he can't even catch the ball - bit of a problem for a keeper.
  19. Still one of the worst players ever to wear the shirt though whatever roversfan 99 might say. Might have been a few worse, O Mara, Mckinnon, Chris Brown and every striker the Egg has signed spring to mind, but by god there isn't much in it. The decision not to cash in on him looks worse by the week. What's up with Leonard? Imo his movement is far better than Gallagher's (not difficult admittedly) and he'd be the better option.
  20. Looking fairly grim now. Is that two wins in nineteen? Four games off half a season. Szmodics apart, these players are pathetic. Good job for them they're at a Club where "There's no pressure on results".
  21. The meeting should have been held well before the Court date so that the FF could have ascertained the Club's stance and put their views across in advance. Nothing much you can say or do after the hearing has happened.
  22. Wonder how the talks to secure Mcguire on a pre contract agreement are going........... Or have they forgotten the script already that that is what they promised to do?
  23. Does anyone know if we are still going to Court on March 12th as things stand?
  24. You're looking at JDT through extremely Rose tinted spectacles - Eustace for all his faults has scraped seven points from seven games. JDT managed two from his last seven. Not that this is good enough. I would never underestimate the ability of this squad of players to snarch defeat from the jaws of victory. I wouldn't be at all surprised if we lose on the last day to drop Into the bottom 3 for the first time.
