We want to have more "meaningful" communication with the Club not a PR briefing with a set of nodding dogs.

So despite a two week old link to Myoshi, looks like we'll be starting with De Neve and Hedges on the flanks. Grim stuff.

No offence as to your prediction of what the starting line up will be (you're probably right) but there's no attacking impetus there whatsoever. I think that line up gets absolutely battered. I'll be gentle and go 2-0 West Brom.

It's long been a bone of contention of mine that the Forum minutes don't appear to show any kick back against the crap the Club are coming out with. If the minutes are to be believed the meetings come across as a tea and biscuits club with everyone nodding along in agreement to what the Club say. We keep getting assured by the likes of K Hod that that wasn't actually the case and that there was actually a fair amount of dissension. Prior to this meeting the defence to that has been that it isn't possible to record in the minutes everything that was said in the meeting. I'm actually glad to see that it appears that with the introduction of Glen and one or two others onto the Forum this issue is now starting to be rectified. I actually welcome the disagreement, make them sweat, stick to your guns and dont let them continue to get away with putting out heavily edited or sanitised minutes. If the meetings are allowed to continue and no punches are pulled and the minutes accurately record which punches were and weren't pulled, then they might finally start to have some value instead of being a mere box ticking exercise for the Club. Who agreed the original inaccurate minutes with the Club? Surely whoever did that is the one at fault. Stick to your guns and if the Club want to take their bat and ball home because they haven't been able to provide a sanitised version of events as has seemingly happened previously then let them. It just makes them look worse and worse.

Should we keep a track of the chaddy predictions and compare them against reality? Looks like we're on for another 138 point season. It's great this, I don't know why the opposition keep bothering turning up! 🙂

The only thing that makes me think there was something in it was unleaded said it was expected to happen two years ago but it all went quiet. If it's been stalled for 2 weeks I dont see it happening but hypothetically at 28 I dont see the players age as an issue especially if he is good technically and not solely reliant on pace. Nor should the fee be an obstacle bearing in mind much of the headline figure will consist of add ons (if met) and the rest is payable in installments. I know you're not knocking it yourself and are only giving reasons why the Club may turn their nose up at it but Im not sure why a few are complaining about the fee - it's not their own money they're spending!

I think a lot depends on how you leave the Club. Has the player forced a move or are his Club selling him to raise funds? I wouldn't blame anyone for wanting to get out of here ASAP at the moment but in normal times or at a normal Club if a player deliberately runs down his contract just so he can earn a bit more dosh I think he deserves all the derision coming his way. If however he leaves for a Club in a higher Division and a lot more money and the Club get a proper fee then there's no real room for resentment. However I don't particularly see the need to blow him kisses and wish him well at his new Club etc. you can still reserve the right to be disappointed and at the end of the day, every other Club is your enemy.

As it's the position where we are in the most desperate need, Myoshi probably won't get done.

You're not exactly "chucking them in" to start every week, you're hoping they're good enough to do a job for the odd game in case of emergency. As should be the case for any youngster in and around the squad. No point having them about if they aren't.

Far too many for me - even without Baradji. I do expect Travis to be sold though.

I mean if we made a genuinely "wow" Steve Archibald type signing then as a one off I'd say that would be absolutely great. But to do it for every unheard of signing that comes in from the European Lower Leagues that's a bit like having a film crew outside my house waiting to catch me going to work every day. Or having a number 2. No harm done for those that like that sort of thing I guess.

I think the exact opposite, I think they're extremely tacky and cringe. Appeals to a different generation I guess.

Suspect one of the other midfielders already here will be a direct replacement for Travis when he goes as well. Otherwise agree.

In terms of quality, last season we had Dolan and Weimann chipping in, now we have neither. The 2 strikers scored c 15 goals between them last season and I dont see them scoring more than 20 this season. Clearly not enough, we need a lot more. In terms of numbers would you be happy with 2 CB's plus an untried 17 yr old and a 21 year old who hasnt really cut it to date as cover? I suspect not - yet for some strange reason a lot of fans and seemingly the Club deem that to be adequate for the striking positions. So to answer your original question, because it's so desperately needed, the Club probably won't do it -no.

Brilliantly put, that's the most concise summary of our plight I've ever heard. Well done. BTW we DID make the play offs several times in the 80's despite no cash. Funnily enough I ran into a random guy the other week who knew me from my Rovers related activities years ago and he apparently was a near neighbour of Jim Branagan and knew him very well. He confirmed what many of us have always suspected over the years using the naked eye test. Jim apparently said the players were very conscious that if they did go up most of them knew they'd be replaced and they were settled in the area and their kids at the schools etc........

It seems to be only you that thinks the call for the 3 stooges to stay away was a bad thing, it was calm and measured and imo reflected far better on the fan base than actively disrupting games etc. It brought more media attention on us than we've had in years and I haven't come across anyone who thought it made us look like "dicks". With the exception of Jim White who I suspect has some sort of connection to Anderson etc, everyone in the media seemed to receive the call very sympathetically as well. The only thing I agree with you on is that I think a large part of Coalition activity from now on should be targeted towards attracting the attention of potential new owners. I thought it was very noticeable during the car crash interviews that unlike in previous previous years the concept of the owners selling was most definitely not expressly ruled out. Don't think a local link is essential, just started watching the documentary about Birmingham. Compulsive viewing, Wagner and Brady want success so badly for Birmingham it hurts - I'd kill to have owners like that here. As an example, after they were relegated Wagner said they set about transforming the ground to make many parts of it "unrecognisable" as they wanted it to be a place worthy of attracting extra investment and sponsorship and a suitable environment for the fans to live out their dreams etc. Compare that with our mob allowing Ewood to fall into disrepair etc.
