Nothing but the best eh?.......... I'd have stuck him in the Hungry Horse (Fernhurst) next to the ground!
-
I'm more inclined to think that it was him that came here under false pretences, inserting the get out clause in his contract knowing full well he wouldn't be here beyond that unless things clicked instantly into place. He's done nothing whatsoever since to suggest we missed out either.
-
Nail, hammer, head. We're on the road to nowhere and if he was still here in ten years time we'd still be on the same road or have fallen off the road into the ditch at the side some years previously. It's the futility and pointlessness of plodding on with Mowbray that depresses me.
-
I can't agree we aren't a million miles away. We've no keeper and probably five players of the sort of standard required if we were serious about challenging for promotion. And two of those are entering the last twelve months of their contracts.
-
And if he is missing seeing what the fans think about our performances in the flesh, I'd cordially invite him to read the post match reaction on here after the last two games!

Disagree completely.Im completely invested in the game when I'm watching Rovers. I still feel like throwing the remote at the TV or laptop when I'm watching Gallagher or Bennett and something larger when I'm watching Walton throw one in the back of the net. The players should be completely invested or committed to the game as well, regardless of the crowd. I find the lack of a crowd a bit more noticeable when I'm watching neutral sides but Ieven so I still think this is buck passing arse covering excuse making from Mowbray. We managed perfectly well without a crowd against Bristol City.

Leeds at Home 4.7.20
RevidgeBlue replied to chaddyrovers's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Great post. If you get the right manager in with a workable budget it's amazing what you can do and how quickly you can do it. No need for long term plans, slow builds, directors of football, the right structure in the Boardroom etc etc As for Chaddy's view on Leeds, not much point turning up on Saturday then he? I bet Mowbray will also get his excuses in early and spend plenty of time before the game eulogising about Leeds as well -
Championship season 2019-20

On the pitch Derby beating Preston 1-0. Excellent free kick from Rooney. -
I'm thinking at the moment that I'll be renewing to whatever is available but unless Mowbray goes or there is a complete 180 in our performances I won't be attending many games once fans are allowed back in to the ground. I've had enough after watching two seasons of utter garbage and I'd rather enjoy the free time I have. I realise this might not be a massive incentive for Waggott and the V's to pot Mowbray but I don't want it on my conscience that the Club folded at a point when I hadn't renewed my ST either.
-
I used to think he was a man of integrity before he brought in Waggott as his boss, now I'm not having it. Neither can I reconcile the actions of a man who gives contract extensions out to players who haven't featured all season as being those of someone with integrity. He's mugging off the Club for the benefit of himself and his coaching staff and his favourite core of players imo.
-
Not disagreeing with what Coyle got out of Gallagher compared to Mowbray but I thought the player also looked a lot more lithe willing and athletic during his first spell here. He looks to have filled out substantially and doesn't look to have the same enthusiasm to me as he did first time round. This should have been obvious if we'd scouted him properly at Birmingham. Not that I'd have re - signed him personally even on the basis of his first spell here. Maybe at a push if he'd been out of contract and free.
-
The fishing's good today I see.
-
So what we're saying is he should be sacked but we can't afford to do so?
-
But not in the Boardroom I fear.
-
And if all that fails there's a dodgy keeper to chuck a few into the back of the net.
-
I'm not completely against you on that, if you take the view that the likes of Nyambe, Travis and Lenihan would have come through under any manager anyway there's only really the acquisitions of Dack and Armstrong that are a positive. Against that we've no keeper going forward still have vastly inferior versions of Mulgrew and Graham and Gallagher has deteriorated markedly from a lowly starting point of not being that good in the first place. And the purchases of Gallagher and Brereton have screwed us up FFP wise. At least pe lockdown regs.
-
if TM is a client of HSH then I pointed out a while ago that Smallwood was also definitely a client of theirs and this was a really unhealthy conflict of interest as TM might feel obliged to act in the player's interest rather than the Club's. Since then of course we've seen this play out in practice with Smallwood sitting on his arse doing nothing for 12 months on full pay, and then getting a short term contract extension to boot.

Shortly after Jan 2019 window for me.

Fair comment. It appears the owners don't want the indignity back at home of one of their businesses going bust and up to press have been prepared to lob in eye watering amounts of money to keep us open but on the other hand don't have either sufficient interest or sufficient expertise to keep a really close eye on what's going on or nip something quickly in the bud when it clearly isn't working.
-
Could it not be increased on appeal? The more I see of it the more blatant a red it was. He was upset he'd been fouled by one player and didn't get it so he ran over and took a wild swipe at another.
-
To be fair, what have they done wrong since we were relegated from the Championship? They didn't put any pressure on Mowbray to sell anyone when we dropped into League 1 and gave him further funds to strengthen. Since going up he's been allowed to spend £12m on two absolute duds (so far) and brought in countless other players permanently or on loan hardly any of whom have come off. If they have a fault at the moment it seems to be in not twigging that Mowbray has brought his own man in as his boss and not paying close enough attention to what is actually going on down at Ewood. Yet in the past they've been criticised for not leaving things to "the football men". I don't think you can criticise the support they've given the Club over the last 3 years though, albeit I would have dispensed with Mowbray 18 months ago.
-
For me that's too late by that stage Gav, that's next season wasted as well. I expect he'll be here until he chooses to leave though sadly.
-
Nor those against Wigan when according to tonight's commentators the only problem was we couldn't take our chances. They're all insulting our intelligence. There's all the difference in the world between playing well but failing to take your chances and the dross we've witnessed during the last two games. And it happens every time we get in a half decent position. Like night following day.
-
Been saying it for the last 18 months so might as well reiterate it once more, we'll never get anywhere with Mowbray in charge. That will never change even allowing for the occasional glimmer of hope created by the odd good result which even I was gullible enough to temporarily fall for after the Bristol City game.
-
Managers tend to have a very inflated sense of their own ability and there would surely be some up and coming talents either here or abroad who'd relish the chance to come here. The problem is, he got Waggott his job and the admiration is reciprocal, Waggott seems to think we have Pep Guardiola in charge so you're right, he probably is bombproof. We need Roy Keane as Director of Football for 12 -18 months.
