  1. We'd better hope to god he isn't here next season as he appears to have written it off already looking at that.
  2. I'm sure Sharpe and Mowbray are now delighting in seeing how many different ways they can come up with to take the piss out of the fans. Mowbray: I've come up with a a unique new way of bridging the gap between us and the Club's with parachute money! Sharpe: What is it Tone? Mowbray: You have to have "an identity!" Everything else just falls into place like magic! Sharpe: Brilliant Tone! You're too good for me mate! It's absolutely meaningless, the two things are completely unrelated., talk about a non sequitur. The only mystery is how the LT let him get away with it time after time. You honestly couldn't make this load of old cobblers up and you haven't been able to for quite some time. The only straw I'm grasping onto is that maybe he knows he's gone already and simply doesn't care what he says anymore. Even then he should be showing the Club a great deal more respect than he has been doing.
  3. Might enable England to do better, but an unequivocal "no" on that one thanks!
  4. Back on topic I guess you'd have to put the Barnsley manager on any shortlist as well
  5. Thanks John. I remember the idea of a rolling ST which fans had to take active steps to cancel being mooted years ago when I was on the Forum and John Williams was here. The view back then was that it was taking fans a little bit too much for granted so I hope it's not on the agenda now especially on the back of everything that's happened recently and last year's ridiculous price increases.
  6. Is it a promising sign that the meeting was hosted by the excellent Greg Coar and Lynsey Talbot and the other gentleman I haven't come across as opposed to Waggott and Cheston? If I were in charge of the Club I wouldn't leave Waggott in charge of the vending machine after the Brockhall debacle.
  7. Yes I forgot Wilder, he'd be on my list as well.
  8. If I were the owners I would always have had the view that the manager is the most important person at the Club and that money in that respect should be no object. My shortlist would read something like: Experienced names: Bilic Jokanovic Hughes Younger managers Cowley Ainsworth Neil Critchley
  9. Thank god for that. Cast iron penalty against Nyambe not awarded on the whistle as well. Let's put a line under this abortion of a season, get in the best manager and coaching staff we can, hire a decent CEO and look forward to next season with a clean slate and sense of optimism.
  10. Armstrong just turned into him looking for the foul.
  11. He knows the rules and he isn't even playing for Liverpool tonight. What if he now mistimes a tackle? Completely unprofessional but symptomatic of the holiday camp mentality prevalent at Ewood.
  12. Wow. What a gift. First the defender slipping then the keeper throwing it in. Mowbray must have swallowed a horseshoe today. Can we hold on?
  13. Yes. The commentators would probably be making more of it had all the chances not been on top of one another.
  14. Good touch from Holtby through to Armstrong. He has to score there.
  15. As in not quite as bad as Brown. There isn't much in it though.
  16. EIT seems to have it in for Nyambe for some reason.
  17. As Jim said, dreadful half, how Derby aren't at least two in front is anyone's guess. As for Gallagher, decent goal but Christ, I think he edges Douglas in the worst player ever to wear a Rovers shirt stakes. Maybe just behind Chris Brown and Paul Mckinnon. I'd chop someone's hand off at the elbow to take the point now.
  18. Probably suffering from hurt feelings knowing he's not our main centre half.
  19. There's no actual evidence they're withholding finance, Mowbray always claims the opposite, that he has to hold the owners back. Besides is it a case in this instance of them withholding finance per se or Mowbray just unilaterally deciding that he doesn't think players X and Y are worth what they're asking for? My point about would you give Mowbray any more money was based on the hypothesis that either the decision to remove him will be made in summer or has already been made.
  20. Thanks for sharing. Personally I'd take that very much with a pinch of salt as part of Lambert's PR and charm offensive to make himself look good in advance of moving to his next job. I do remember him saying "This Club has got to decide which way it wants to go" a lot whilst doing absolutely nothing about renewing contracts. Then walking out thanks to a clause in his contract which he'd inserted. I don't believe a word he said with the benefit of hindsight.
  21. I agree with the other poster in a way. Mowbray deserves to be commemorated as having the worst run of any manager in our near 150 year history. So given a choice I'd choose to limp to safety via a few draws. You're also right though, safety is paramount and you can't pick and choose. Therefore I'll take survival however it comes and will be delighted with a win tonight.
  22. I don't remember that at all. Source?
  23. This is another reason why Mowbray needed to go a while back. He must be on his last legs and should have no input on who does and doesn't get a new deal. Should have been down to a new man. (To be fair to the owners would you give TM any more money)
