  1. Bit of a wake up call today, the key thing is how we react and whether we can go on another run. Disagree with those criticising the £7m signing up front we needed strikers AND at least one centre half for me and overloaded on midfielders instead. Always thought that as a pairing Mulgrew and Lenihan are nowhere near as good as Individually they're cracked up to be, we've always conceded plenty of goals. Need a lot better from them in the coming months.
  2. Just seen this. Here we go........ "may" have to consider a 10m offer soon. "could" test his and the Club's resolve. I.e. "might not" and "may not" either What a load of old cobblers if Leicester were actually interested in Dack why wouldn't they steam in before Dack penned a new deal? does this Dixon dude even know Dack recently signed a new contract? More to the point is he a genuine person or Nixon using a nom De plume? Not even we would be stupid enough to allow a 10m release clause in his contract surely. No doubt Dack would find the lure of the Premiership and the attendant wages tempting at some point but negotiations would have to be starting around the £20m mark.
  3. Cheers Bob. Did he speak to you much on the way up? ☺️
  4. Absolutely vital signing which with Armstrong also at the Club will hopefully take a lot of the strain off Graham and allow us to use him sparingly if required. Credit must go to the owners for sanctioning a £7m fee. I still think we must have had a rethink towards the end of the permanent window as at one point when no-one had arrived TM was complaining about players we were in for suddenly going for £7m then shortly after we start making offers around that sort of level. Good luck Ben.
  5. Fantastic news. Looks like we've got the result wrapped up and Brereton confirmed.
  6. I'd say "C'est la vie". They could get injures in training or getting out of bed as well. Let's be honest, if we go out He's got the selection wrong. It's a fine line between fielding the weakest team possible and still going through and going a bit too far and being knocked out.
  7. Do we ever play well playing 3-5-2? Will be really disappointing if we go out at home to lower league opposition. If you pick a weakened side you've got to make sure it's still good enough to get through.
  8. Great to see Nuttall on the scoresheet at long last it might give him some much needed confidence.
  9. "Too". Take a second or two longer and type stuff out properly with correct spelling and proper punctuation. It's hard work trying to wade through txt speak and mis-spelling with no punctuation trying to figure out what you're saying.
  10. All this "people wouldn't be happy if Tony won the Champions League, Premier League, FA Cup, Carabao Cup, and Community Shield" stuff is getting a bit irritating. It would however be rather nice to have at least one decent out and out winger on the books and a fit striker at the Club other than Nuttall! And if it doesn't happen I don't think most people would be pointing the finger at TM anyway.
  11. I agree the Mail story is probably a load of old horlicks but hypothetically would it matter so much He's picked up a shoulder injury? (assuming it's not serious) Rodwell is apparently some way away from fitness and He's here.
  12. Yes fair comment, Lambert started the process imo at a time when the squad needed a complete overhaul and long term strategic planning and things carried on in much the same vein when Coyle arrived.
  13. If we did land Brereton and Chapman on binding deals that meant we could make them permanent then even I would concede it looks like a potentially good window assuming the majority perform. The counter argument is that they're not here yet, the priority positions were two strikers two wingers and a centre back, and we've only added Armstrong out of those to date, we've overloaded massively on midfielders and have potentially added a bad apple into our midst in Rodwell. Bit of work to do yet for me.
  14. I read the story as meaning the exact opposite, didn't it say we were hoping to land him on an "initial" Loan. Given the gaps in the squad I would have thought that would be the best signing of the window if it comes off. Pretty slapdash way to operate though for me sitting there on the last day of the window hoping you can pick someone up, but only if the parent Club complete their business first. Still no sign of Brereton I see. Has he broken down on the side of the motorway or something? Someone give him a lift on the way past!
  15. They really won't.
  16. Five less than we have midfielders.
  17. Obviously it does as we have a limited allocation of loan slots. This is another reason why we should have got the vast majority of our business done during the permanent window and not be starting about now.
  18. Not really as they are the first choice defensive players and Bell and Hart have already played further forward for us.
  19. If you were thinking of playing 3-5 -2. Even discounting them, still way too many.
  20. Are you not forgetting Rodwell? Also we have Tomlinson, Hart and Bell will also be looking for a place in the side once Williams is fit. Plus Travis, Whittingham, and Gladwin who haven't gone anywhere yet. Just your usual 17 midfielders. I reckon we could do with 2 or 3 more just to be on the safe side.
  21. Well yes, if Brereton signs.
  22. Yes. He's an outstanding player and we lack width. It's an absolute no brainer. Doubt he'll be coming in though. If TM wanted him he'd have been here long before now.
