Yep -if he makes the decision to come for it, he has to get to it. If he stays on his line it's an easy save. If Pears had have done that all hell would have broken loose. Because it's Pears' replacement it's JRC's fault. -

Horror show from the keeper. Thought we played quite well overall. Buckley and Dolan showing up really well but not enough bite in front of goal as usual then the keeper drops an enormous rick and Coventry find themselves ahead with their first chance. 45 mins to save the season. -

We're playing Coventry not Liverpool. The injuries are less than ideal and we should have had a couple of new signings starting by now but we've every chance. -

On a similar note, does Garrett's absence mean he is being loaned out again? You'd have thought we'd have needed him at the moment. -

Pretty desperate bench. I'd start with Leonard and bring Gueye on in the last 30 mins to cause chaos if required. -

Ah OK, I thought he was saying at the time that he wasnt aware if there'd been a bid had been made for Asante and as at yesterday he was saying that he hoped there were things going on but he didn't think anything was imminent. -

It must be highly doubtful we ever put in a bid at all given the lack of corroboration from anywhere on the matter. Similarly it would have been picked up by various outlets if the player was over having or due to have a medical but it clearly never happened. That sounds very much like a figment of Pasha's imagination. -

So as there've been no net incomings this window and quite to the contrary we've seemingly been running round trying to get a player on 2k p.w. off the pay roll looks like either: a) Waggott didn't request the January funding it was stated he was going to or b) He did ask, but whatever he asked for wasn't sufficient to bring in the targets we were after or c) He did ask but was refused either in full or in part. -

The suggestion from Nixon (I know) is that they would only consider going once they'd returned us from whence we came I.e. The Premier League. Not easy to do when you're selling your best players and spending nothing on replacements. -

Thanks. Means nothing to me really but from what you say, tends to confirm the eye test in that he's been crap. Mind you you don't really need complicated and obscure stats to confirm it when his only goal has been a penalty and I'm guessing his direct assist count is negligible. -

What does that mean, is it decent or below what should be expected? -

Cantwell certainly is, or at least has been thus far. -

As always, we're pretty darned efficient and proactive in shipping people out. Bringing anyone in for a worthwhile fee on reasonable wages however........... -

Think Elliott Jackson is doing a fine job of that on his own. -

Sounds far too technical for me Lol. Can you do that from a phone? -

The other thing is which has been mentioned periodically on here in passing but people haven't really made that much of a deal of (and Jackson either won't have realised or won't be brave enough to mention it) is that is is literally a one time only opportunity to pump some reasonable money into the squad due to the rolling FFP regulations. Once it's gone it's gone. -

The problem with that is, as unprofessional as the Committe might be, I can't see even them (and Broughton before them) being stupid enough to go through steps 1-10 WITHOUT bothering to ask for authorisation first. -

1st part - going to have limited effect on them sat back in India. 2nd part - I'd take that for starters. -

I can't read most LT articles online due to the firewall but having just seen an article on FLW it appears Eustace said something like: "Of course we WANT to bring quality in but if we don't, the lads have been great this season andwe won't let anyone down". IF that's an accurate representation of what he said, it's not looking very promising. Time to ramp up the pressure on Waggott inside the ground. He didn't like it last time it happened. -

OK- so lack of availability of squad places isn't an excuse then. -

This was discussed a week or so ago but as you now seem to be latching onto it as a belated excuse, according to Mark BRFC you resubmit your 25 man squad at the end of the January window. I have no idea if that is correct or not but if it is then it's no excuse - you can sign who you want and leave out whoever you want. -

Ah yes - the phantom "bid" reported by 1 Sky journalist which seemingly neither manager was aware of', which our local press couldn't get confirmation of after the event, which seemingly hasn't prompted either an acceptance or a rejection from the parent Club and following which the target was recalled to Coventry's side by the new manager and scored. Makes it look like we're doing something I suppose. We can't use any of the usual "the EFL are being pedantic with us/we forgot to press send/it was all Sylvester's fault" type excuses. -

Exactly this. If the incumbent manager isn't supported for a third time when we're in a promising position, you have to question what the point of it all is. I thought the whole point was to win football matches and try and achieve as much success as possible. To me that applies to every competition we play in. Even on here there are posters who want to make eleven changes in the FA Cup and so on an so forth. Whereas on the LT site there are posters who are happy we're not going to get relegated this season and think we should stick the kids in for developmental purposes. Others don't want us spending money and someone posted today that they're happy being a middling Championship Club and didn't want to be like Burnley yo-yoing up and down and being an "embarrasment" to the Premier League. Whether these accounts are real or plants such comments must be music to Waggott's ears but not to most of us who haven't forgotten that whilst the game is now undoubtedly a business, at heart it is still essentially a sport and if you're not trying to be successful and win things you're left with nothing. Plus, it's not even good business to either not invest in the playing side or to look a gift horse in the mouth every time a £100m + carrot is dangled in front of us for winning the play offs.
