  1. Disallowed goal, several missed chances. We know how the script goes from here...
  2. Looks a snip at £1.5m or whatever we paid for him 😉
  3. Imagine how we'll look once the style is fully bedded in and some new blood is added to the mix. We need to stay patient and let JDT work his magic.
  4. Seems that we're hitting our form and playing JDT's style just at the right time of the season. Could be an interesting last dozen or so games.
  5. Appreciate it's only one game, with some of their first teamers missing, but we are more than holding our own against an average Prem team. And that's with 2 of our best players out.
  6. Probably should be 2-2, good chances at either end. We're certainly going for it, fair play. JRC is fucking amazing, what the hell has JDT been feeding him?
  7. Despite recent years, in my lifetime (back end of my 30's), I'm really grateful to have seen us win the Premier League and then be at this final, to see us lift the League Cup as well. What a day - I won't repeat what loads of others have already posted in terms of the memories of the day, but absolutely one of my favourite days as a Rovers supporter. Hughes was a warrior, Jansen and Cole the goal heroes, but this was the Brad Friedel cup final. An absolute monster between the sticks, as he consistently was for us.
  8. I came on this thread to say the exact same thing. An extra 5k-10k fans for each of the final 7 games now could make a huge difference - we have the momentum on the pitch, we have to try and capitalise off it. Time to earn your salary, Steve...
  9. I think this summer's window is huge for GB; he just about got a pass in his first window (thanks to Hyam and Brittain), but the January window was an unmitigated disaster. I'm sure JDT will have made it clear that he needs to be supported with good quality new additions and whilst we're fishing in the right ponds (Ahmedodzic / Hyam / O'Brien / Cantwell), we have to do whatever possible to land a few in the summer. GK: With Pears' recent form, I think we have 2 very good Championship GKs, so no priority here. DF: Similarly, with JRC and Carter's form in recent months - as well as Phillips coming through the ranks - I don't we're pretty well stocked here, too. MF: Central mid being the glaring area for improvement, even if Trav has shown that he's up for filling the O'Brien-sized gap in the last few games. We need an experienced head, someone to dominate a midfield battle and take control of games. Good luck finding one within our budget. ST: The other glaring gap in the squad, as everybody here knows. We had targets in January, most of whom were unknowns to most of us, but we simply cannot fail in this area in the summer. I'd prefer us to keep BBD as a wide striker, if possible and Dolan's progression is going well, but we need somebody to lead the line. A Danny Graham type, or even a Jordan Rhodes to be a fox in the box. Whichever way, GB and his team can not fail in this area in the summer.
  10. One thing I didn't realise (until I read it tonight) was that we have 7 of the remaining 12 games at Ewood. And we have the best / 2nd best home record in the league; JDT has us consistently picking points up at home. We have incredible chance to make the top 6, which would be an immense achievement for a manager who's never managed in this country, never mind the league. And that's before you consider the squad he inherited. Oh, and JRC is my new favourite player.
  11. 3 consecutive wins, 11 points from the last 15. Fair fucks to Trav today, that was an ‘O’Brien’ level performance. JRC deserves a mention, too. I think it might be happening, boys and girls…
  12. JRC with the Zidane skills now! I had Gally to score a brace in the last one, typically picked the wrong game. On a hattrick now. 7 points off 2nd…
  13. I don’t feel this gets the recognition it deserves. A number of underperforming players have been dropped to the U21s and replaced in the team until they’ve shown they’re ready. And when they’ve come back in, they’ve been hungrier, fitter and more determined to keep their place. Never happened under previous managers and shows that JDT is brave enough to do the right thing. Has really paid off for us this season.
  14. That flicked pass assist from Trav is ludicrous. Absolutely world class. Finish was tidy, too. Very good first half in a difficult game; hopefully we can see he second half out now. Happy for Gally to get a header also.
  15. Yes, he's back playing in the U21s to get match fitness up, so he's no longer on the injury list. Also, Mola was sent back to his parent club in the transfer window, wasn't he?
  16. Was a rumour that somebody created and it seems to have caught on. From what I know, I’m pretty confident that it’s bollocks. Injuries have been the reason why AW hasn’t been in the side, with a small portion of JDT being overprotective of a young talented lad.
  17. And they've all come back stronger, fitter and more motivated, so it's been really good management in my opinion.
  18. I mean, if he's that much of a Rovers fan, he'd let us have the 3 points... We need them more than QPR do at this stage of the season, like. A draw would be ok, but wouldn't be surprised if this is one of those 'back down to earth' away defeats. I guess at least under JDT, we do actually stand a chance of taking points from teams in Feb, unlike what we've been used to in the last few years.
  19. I wouldn't agree with that. The lad is top quality (in this division) and would be a real difference maker. And, at this stage of the season - with Play Offs a real possibility - that's exactly what we need.
  20. We've moved up to 4th and we're 9 points off the auto spots, pretty much at the start of the run-in. Considering what he's had to work with this season, I'd suggest that JDT is working minor miracles.
  21. 8 points from the last 4, which included away points at WBA and Watford, is a pretty good return. Played well tonight in large patches; imagine if we had a proper striker and O'Brien in there as well. Dolan, Hyam and Brittain really good, Pears steady again and even though he tripped over his own feet more than once, Trav put a proper shift in tonight. Back up to 4th. Only actually 9 points from 2nd...
  22. Agree on Smozdics - I think he always looks decent. Some people feel we've overpaid for him, but I think it's irrelevant to us stakeholders.
  23. I think it's easy to forget how good Brittain in, due to how long he's been out injured. But he's a very good player. Good first half, deserved goal and not much to complain about at all. Currently back up to 4th as we stand.
