  1. At least for those missing their Rovers fix 90 mins of pedestrian pointless possession football will have been like a warm hug.
  2. Fucking hell. Lee Dixon: “when you get a point the opposition haven’t got 3.” It’s the usa not Brazil.
  3. I didn’t think for one minute in the 85th minute our only shot on target would be a speculative long range effort.
  4. Quite bold of Lee Dixon to claim we’ll get a chance before the end of the game when not had one in the first 80 mins
  5. So it’s not been working for the best part of 70 mins and some subs.
  6. Southgate needs to earn his £6 million a year and do something. Anything.
  7. Come on Gareth. Make some bloody changes. This is dire.
  8. This half has started as bad as the first half.
  9. This is like watching rovers. Pointless possession interspersed with bugger all shots on goal.
  10. They’re just the worst. I hope they don’t do well and we’re treated to a rendition of U-S-A, U-S-A
  11. Played the yanks twice in the World Cup and haven’t beaten them. That’s fairly embarrassing
  12. That’s exactly what I was picturing. Before that I had zero opinions on the Welsh would even route for other British team in spite of their chip on the shoulder for the English but that irked me
  13. As much as Iran is a hideous political regime, it's tremendous to see the Welsh get beaten like that.
  14. England clearly have no interest in this 50 overs mini series. Can’t blame them really - a lengthy t20 tour of Pakistan, then the t20 World Cup. Now 3 pointless ODI games, just let the buggers come home and have a couple of months off before flying to NZ for the test series.
  15. That women in the studio is talking rubbish. Wales can afford to rest bale on Friday... Does she realise it's a group. I was amazed Roy Keane didn’t laugh or sneer more at that comment! It’s not like wales reserves would guarantee a win vs Iran - even the first team wouldn’t be certain of it! Yes let Swindon's Johnny Williams play instead or Portsmouth’s Joe Morrell
  16. I’ve only watched the 2nd half and they keep alluding to the fact the yanks were decent (or wales poor) in the first half. But from what I’ve seen of this half England should walk it on Friday.
  17. For a World Cup with such an ignominious build up I thought the football at least may do the talking. 5 mins in and the farce off the pitch is replicated on it.
  18. Plus when the bulk of the Brits get over. You’ve got an irreverent culture (including self-deprecation) colliding with a culture that will execute its own subjects for blasphemy. I can see this going well.
  19. I smell another farce from the rovers hierarchy. I guarantee they won’t have realised yet and will frantically relocate it to Leyland or somewhere.
  20. Since France 98 in the World Cup and France 2016 in the euros qualification has been a joke. There should be an element of achievement in qualifying for the World Cup and Euros but for the likes of England qualification is all but guaranteed before a ball is kicked and increasing it to 48 teams even gives the dregs a realistic chance of qualifying. Personally I’d shake the whole qualifying process up anyway. In Europe I’d have a tournament running while the main tournament is on for the likes of Gibraltar, San Marino, faro islands, Estonia, Latvia, Scotland, etc. The minority of those then get through into the main qualifying group. Also picking on CONCACAF (but there’s others) for 4 of them to qualify that’s a joke. Pretty much Mexico, usa, Costa Rica guaranteed to qualify with Canada beating a Caribbean island. This isn’t a modern school sports day where everyone is a winner it’s the elite international tournament.
