  1. Especially that in 1962, the then England centre half Peter Swan along with his two Sheffield Wednesday team mates, David (Bronco) Layne and Tony Kay were given a four month jail term and banned from football for life for placing a £50 bet that Wednesday would lose to Ipswich Town, which indeed they did. The ban was lifted ten years later. These were the days when the authorities had the power.
  2. He got away lightly with an eight month ban.
  3. You’re having a laugh I take it! They don’t have the nouse to even think that intelligently.
  4. Well we are only a young team but we will go on and improve with the experience. Good lad Tony at least it’s a short trip home from the stadium of Blight. Boro or Coventry will both beat Luton with any luck though.
  5. But it’s 1-0 to Inter now, how exciting .
  6. I have to agree. They may be good in the air but the skill factor with the feet in the box is dire. How did we let either of these two finish above us ???
  7. We all have BT Sports according to you then? Anyway it’s a boring 0-0 up to now and if I along with others enjoy slagging off the gurning barsteward or shitty Luton, we will .
  8. Amari Bell to score the winner in the 98th minute.
  9. If I was a ref I would have sent a Sunderland player off with that response, surrounding the ref in numbers.
  10. I don’t understand why you think it looks crap other than reminding you of those two plodders. I could equally say it looks great because it reminds me of the Bryan Douglas/ Andy McEvoy days.
  11. Well that’s your view. I just like unfashionable teams giving a kick up the arse to the establishment. We used to be the ones to do that but we are miles away from those wonderful days.
  12. You just have to love Brighton. A club that is run how we used to be with a great manager and honest skilful players. It was great to see the plastic Arsenal fans streaming out of the ground 15 mins from the end, and that Arteta, what a complete knob, he must hold the record for the number of cards any manager has received in a season. Plus is hair looks like Action Man’s
  13. You can watch Brackley v Kidderminster next in the Nat League North. What a joke Brackley being 20 miles from Oxford yet they are in the North
  14. I would like to see Sparkie take the bantams up. I hated him as a Utd player but loved him when he was with us as player and manager.
  15. Well so do I to be fair, when I’ve seen them play they have always been a good watch and deserve promotion on their performance over the season.
  16. I’m sure Luton will be pleased with a one goal deficit to take back to Kenilworth Road, but I don’t want either of these two to win the final.
  17. Hope your dad will be chuffed. It always makes me smile when the media refer to the other lot as Notts Forest which they hate.
  18. Couldn’t happen to a better man. Never liked him when he was Wigan manager.
  19. Yes 4 points but it was the places 3rd and 6th I was making an analogy to.
  20. I don’t see how you can say it’s harsh when 6th placed Rovers beat 3rd placed Derby in the play off semis. That’s what happens. 😃
  21. Look at the table. Goal difference puts us in 11th. I’m trying to point out what our shortcoming is. It’s lack of goals scored.
  22. Come on you Jags
  23. The main stat to look at in the league table is the goal difference. That’s what killed us in the end and ours in reality puts us in 11th. You don’t need fancy stats or to be Einstein to see where our problems lie on the pitch. Of course there are bigger problems upstairs.
  24. The fact that we won’t be in the Premier League next term makes it all much easier for him to leave. Maybe that was a plan. If he becomes a cult hero to some, makes me laugh out loud when you consider the fantastic players we have had in the past. A cult hero to a ten year old maybe.
  25. He’ll probably finish up warming the bench in Spain
