I’ve always had a soft spot for Ken Barrington. As a young lad in the 60’s I worked on the playing fields of Stonyhurst College during my school holidays. The MCC used to play a match there each year and on one occasion this guy asked me if I would bowl a few to him in the nets, prior to the start. That man was Ken Barrington although I didn’t know it st the time, after the game he gave me a bat which 60 years later I still have.
