  1. Whoever is to blame regarding the pitch, the match was called off rightly or wrongly by the ref who is an EFL official so I can’t see how they can fine the club.
  2. I hope Steve Patrick’s laughing his head off. From one of the best playing surfaces in the Premier League to a pudding’ of a pitch. You get out what you put in but of course nothing major has been done for years.
  3. Though you may expect a Frankie goes to ??? I’ll go Dire Straits. On Every Steet
  4. Spot on. It always anoyed me that a bloke from Clitheroe lifted the cup in 1960. To be fair I wrote Bill a letter some years ago and he sent me a gracious reply. A lovely man.
  5. Other than Duggie who was born on the doorstep, there are three England players in that team who were born within 15 miles of Ewood Park. Who are they?
  6. That’s it in a nutshell. We keep having to look at everybody else’s results which is not promotion material. 8th place for us come May. How I hope I’m totally wrong.
  7. That’s exactly as I also remember it. I was only 8 and was taken by my dad. All my mums family were Glaswegians and we stayed at my Gran’s in Ibrox. It was pretty daunting for an 8 year old in a crowd just shy of 128,000.
  8. I remember his dad had a gents barber shop between Darwen St.bridge and Lower Audley St.
  9. His youngest son Anastasios was born in Blackburn, but never played for Rovers which I think is what the thread started as asking Baz.
  10. Given the fact that some clubs play the music by local artists, like Newcastle with Local Hero, Liverpool with You’ll never walk alone, and Everton with the theme from Z Cars, it’s a wonder we don’t play Juliet.
  11. The old stanchions, the ball could hit it and be back out so fast you would think it was never a goal. As an aside, why do commentators still say “It’s hit the woodwork” when goal posts and bat are made of aluminium?
  12. What an important result that was when you consider Charlton finished 1 point behind us in third place and missing promotion. It was the final match of the season. Our final home game of the season was a 4-1 win against Leyton Orient, we were without Duggie as he was helping England to beat Scotland at Hampden the same day, scoring Englands first goal in a 0-4 win.
  13. Aye a proper commentator unlike most of the dross we have to put up with these days.
  14. As a matter of interest how many local companies were contacted regarding shirt sponsorship and how much is it worth to Rovers. Does anybody on here know?
  15. Another masterpiece by the renowned Scottish architect Archibald Leitch
