  1. My only issue with Dack is that he's a bit of a lad, one of the boys kind of thing. I just don't know if it would work. Does he have the kind of authority that the other players would look up to when we need to dig deep? Unsure. On the field his style of play might lend itself to being a captain and leading by example. I don't think he'd go into hiding, I actually think he would thrive on it. Might be worth it alone to galvanise our best player!
  2. Tough question. There is no stand out candidate really. I agree totally with your opinion on Bennett. I guess Lenihan but then the vice captain would end up with armband just as much.
  3. It's fucking Preston, not Man City. Grow a spine for christ's sake.
  4. That's defeatist talk from someone with a losing mentality. No wonder the team has zero fight
  5. There aren't many good stats for Rovers these days
  6. Is this guy still on the scene?
  7. I don't think anyone has ever had any real power at Ewood since Venkys arrived.
  8. -----‐‐------------Walton Nyambe--Tosin--Williams--Bell? ---------------Travis---Holtby Rothwell-------Dack--------Armstrong -------------------Graham Forget the possession stats and hit the ball long to Graham for him to hold up the ball and bring the 3 attackers in. Try to keep it tight at the back (I know) and hit them on the counter with the pace out wide and in the full back areas. Can't see this happening in the slightest. Edit: could stick Holtby in CM as opposed to Johnson, if fit.
  9. Really good post. (not for Mowbray) The possession based game Mowbray is trying to implement really doesn't work well for our players at all. Worrying that the opposition still have more shots than we do, despite us supposedly "controlling" the game.
  10. That's a good point about Mowbray mentioning promotion. Even sky, in one of the recent games mentioned that Mowbray has said he wants us pushing for the top 6, they even mentioned a 70 points target he's aiming for. He's built the expectation levels up for the fans and now we are crashing down to earth. As you say, might have served him better to stay quiet and punch above our weight. Maybe the players are feeling the pressure over these expected targets? Unsure, but it's all going spectacularly wrong at the moment.
  11. It will be about Mowbray. There was a lot of fans replying to the full time tweet from the club after last nights game saying they wanted Mowbray gone.
  12. Why can't we just be a normal f***ing football club?
  13. I agree, a new manager with his own team and ideas. I would like Johnson to remain at the club in some capacity though.
  14. Have we ever played well for the full 90 under Mowbray? Pretty sure in league one we still only had 1 good half in a game.
  15. He wouldn't even be able to bring his trusted back room team with him as his usual number 2 is now a manager. We need a clear out, Mowbray, Venus and Lowe all need replacing.
  16. He needs binning. Poor manager. If we stick with him, we will end up in a relegation battle.
  17. Gallagher is terrible on the flanks, why does he keep playing him there? Hopefully goes upfront and Arma goes wide.
  18. Very soon. Wednesday at 10pm they could be above us.
  19. I reckon Bennett will remain at left back for this one. He can't drop Nyambe after the Hudds game and he won't drop Bennett at all. He has no problems in leaving Bell on the bench. I'd say it will be unchanged lineup but that seems unlikely. Knowing Mowbray, probably Holtby benched for Gallagher.
  20. In reality, probably Holtby (that's not a bad thing btw, hes a good player!). But if the opposition are doubling up on Dack and leaving space for other players to exploit, Rothwells speed and drive with the ball should be put to good use.
  21. ........like Rothwell, perhaps?
